Chapter 0(Prologue): The Realm of Sensation

The game that returned after a long time had changed a lot.

It was to the point where I had to put aside my determination to achieve accomplishments I hadn’t been able to during my youth.

I was from a generation accustomed to controlling the game with a keyboard and mouse.

But now, that old way of controlling was long gone.

In my hands were not a keyboard and mouse but instead, a long sword.

It felt awkward.

Even while receiving system adjustments, I thought to myself.

Following the blurry path of the tutorial, I found that my trajectory was off.

And so, I smiled. The new gameplay I was experiencing for the first time brought me joy.

It had been a long time since I had laughed. Gaming used to be a significant part of my life.

It couldn’t help but be enjoyable.

However, my body was filled with fatigue.

‘What a shame,’

I murmured in a small voice.

I had returned home after finishing work, feeling exhausted.

I was too tired to continue the game any further.

If it were a game using a keyboard and mouse, I could have played for several more hours.

But the evolved game was different.

Just like moving my body in reality, it consumed a lot of stamina.

People in the world kept saying it was good for dieting, but this fact felt frustrating to me.

What can I do?

The times have changed.

Just as his youth has faded away, the past of wielding a keyboard and mouse as weapons has also passed.

He considered himself somewhat talented in gaming.

But the games of today were of a different calibre, shattering that notion completely.

These are games that enter the realm of sensation.

The need for talent has grown, and those whose skills have declined are quickly forgotten.

He recalls memories from the past.

The version of himself who used to rank within the top ten in the arena is no longer present.

After a long hiatus from gaming, in the first placement match of the newly changed season, he was utterly defeated.

The relentless strikes of the knight, coming in without any means to counter, left numerous gashes on his body.

Even though he knew it wasn’t reality, he couldn’t muster a proper counterattack.

His body, unable to keep up with his mind, felt frustrating.

It was both frustrating and disappointing.

Leaving those feelings behind, he exits the game.

As his mind gradually settles, another world that filled his eyes disappears.

And thus, he arrives at a darkened room.

His body trembles from the coldness of the room that has cooled down.
