Chapter 14: First Raid(3)

As they proceed with the [Red Orc Empire] raid, everyone has a single thought:

– Was raiding always this easy?

Without a single moment of crisis, they encounter the third boss.

Their small raid leader fearlessly charges towards the boss once again.

By following the calm voice of the young girl, they could easily overcome any danger.

“Wave of elite mobs incoming on the left and right.

DPS, take out the elite mobs first.

Tanks, don’t let any monsters reach the DPS line.”

[Red Orc Priest Karas]

The boss they’re currently facing is Karas, a shamanistic boss.

Due to the storyline that he’s physically weak, his guards come as reinforcements at set intervals to protect him.

No one was tracking the timer.

At the front, the raid leader who’s doing the main tanking was managing the time.

While dodging the massive orc’s attacks, she managed it all.

Even while engaging the boss, her attention continuously monitored the status of the raiders.

There was no difficulty.

Not once did the main tank lose aggro.

As time passed, the DPS rankings within the raid began to shift.

When they faced the first boss, the raid leader’s DPS rank was 20th.

For the second boss, she was 19th.

Now, she had climbed up to 18th, even 17th.

This meant the raid leader’s skills were continuously improving.

Those who could feel the raid leader’s change most acutely were none other than the healers.

“I still have mana left…”

“She’s parrying all the big attacks, so there’s no risk.”

The healers were feeling relaxed.

Except for those focusing on the main tank, the rest had little to do.

It’s comfortable.

Overwhelmingly comfortable.

It felt easier than running a regular dungeon.

Every time a golden flash appeared, a red line would streak across the priest’s skin.

[Arrghhhhh!]

The orc’s characteristic berserk mode was activated.

Karas’s body grew larger, and his attack speed increased even more.

Yeon observed the attacks calmly.

She deflected the red fireballs coming from all directions and avoided the priest’s staff.

Once again, the strategy was flawless.

[This can’t be…]

Boom!

The massive priest fell.

Forty minutes into the raid dungeon, the raid team had defeated the third boss.

Catching her breath, Yeon moved forward to loot the item.

In that instant, a sparkle appeared in the young girl’s eyes.

The item that had dropped was no ordinary one.

An item she had forgotten suddenly reappeared.

[Right Fragment of the Sun]

Strength +5, Health +5

Increases max health by 5%

Level requirement: 25

A fragment imbued with the radiant power of the sun

Priest Karas crafted the Sun Fragment into a ring.

For a raid item, its specs seemed rather lackluster.

However, this item had a hidden purpose.

If this item was paired with another called the [Left Fragment of the Sun], a hidden quest could be initiated.

At the end of this quest awaited the strongest item of the current episode, [Solar’s Sacred Sword of the Sun God].

Unless you were in a sword-using class, no one would desire this item.

Yeon linked the item and observed the reactions of the raid members.

However, a hint of disappointment appeared in the eyes of the raid members.

Even the two sub-tanks shared the same expression, which meant that none of the raid members understood the true value of this item.

Yeon recalled a particular fact: this world was one where various hidden quests remained undiscovered.

It wasn’t surprising that the true purpose of the Sun Fragment series was still unknown.

“Starting the auction for the Right Fragment of the Sun. Starting bid: 100 gold.”

No one stepped forward.

It was understandable; better items with similar options could be found in the auction house, so there was no reason to spend a lot on this.

Yeon calmly observed the situation.

The Sun Fragment series items were individually meaningless.

Though the right fragment dropped here at the priest, if the other half didn’t drop, there was no way to complete [Solar’s Sacred Sword of the Sun God].

Yeon recalled memories of a world where the method for using the fragment series was known, yet few had ever completed the sacred sword.

The drop rates for both items were low.

– 100 gold.

Is it worth the investment?

No one was bidding.

Yeon waited a moment before speaking.

“I, I’ll place a bid.”

Everyone nodded, likely assuming that the raid leader was simply handling an item that had no bidders.

Yeon put the ring in her inventory and calculated the raid gold.

After defeating the first boss, 4,900 gold had been accumulated.

For the second boss, two priest armor pieces had dropped, each sold for 250 gold.

From the third boss, there was an additional 100 gold, making the total raid distribution gold 5,500 gold.

“Did anything else drop?”

“No, unfortunately, nothing else.”

Yeon nodded calmly in response to a raid member’s question.

The pace of the raid wasn’t fast.

While it didn’t take long to defeat each boss, a considerable amount of time was spent clearing the path to each boss.

After finishing the auction for the third boss, fifty minutes had passed since they entered the dungeon.

Yeon checked the time and spoke up.

“Everyone, take a 10-minute break for bathroom or smoke.”

It was a phrase that didn’t match the small girl.

Yeon’s raid had naturally become the center of attention for everyone.

The Deron Gallery was also focused on the state of her raid.

Yeon was a hot topic even before the raid began.

It would be strange not to pay attention to her.

[Deron Online Gallery]

[How far do you think the middle school girl’s raid team will get on their first try?] [16]

(User posts an anime image)

Since she’s a middle schooler, she’ll probably go eat in the middle of tanking the boss.

[Comments]

[Judging by her skills, she’ll probably get to the second boss no problem.]

[LOL, they’re gonna wipe on the first boss and disband.]

[Do you think this is a regular raid team?]

[Regular raid teams are just gathering points for idiots; they’ve been stuck for weeks without a first clear.]

[Do you even raid?]

[Aww, middle school girl-chan, did your mom tell you to eat?…]

[If she doesn’t eat, she probably can’t keep playing lol.]

While speculative posts flooded in, a new thread appeared.

[Middle School Girl’s Raid Team Live Stream is On?] [16]

A link to the stream.

It doesn’t seem like the middle schooler is streaming it herself? The perspective is from the mage’s side, but I don’t know who it is.

[Comments]

[Is this real?]

[It looks legit? They’re explaining tactics briefly right now.]

[I’m heading over there immediately lolol.]

[But did they get the raid leader’s permission for this? Our raid leader hates tactic leaks.]

[Seems like it was discussed in advance, considering no one’s reacting to it.]

[Probably so.]

[Does the middle school girl appear on this stream?]

The stream was live. Naturally, many people joined the link to verify the truth.

Those who joined the stream could see a small girl chattering away from the mage’s perspective.

Thanks to word of mouth, viewers spiked.

Immediately after the stream began, the audience grew from 100 to over 1,500.

It was mostly out of curiosity. All of the viewers were there for the same reason.

They didn’t have high expectations; they were simply curious about how this young raid leader would run the group.

In the midst of it all, the small girl checked the raid members and turned to enter the dungeon.

She even hopped as she entered.

Her long hair flowed and scattered as she jumped, making for an endearing sight.

It was an action no one expected, but the sheer cuteness of the middle school raid leader caused the number of chat messages to surge.

[LOL LOL LOL LOL]

[Middle school girl is so cute LOL]

[Do middle school girls always jump when entering a dungeon?]

[If I jump into a dungeon, does that make me a middle school girl too?]

Hundreds of messages refreshed rapidly as she entered the raid dungeon, and the first stage began.

Most raid teams trying this for the first time usually wiped at the first stage, which was an elite orc wave.

Most viewers expected a wipe.

But they didn’t wipe. All the orcs were swept away cleanly.

Their overwhelming speed and clean monster handling were due to the placement of thirty mages.

With so many area-of-effect spells, the elite orcs were melting away.

[Thirty mages?]

[Why didn’t they add rogues?]

[Is the raid leader biased against other classes?]

After dealing with the orcs, they began the first boss fight.

Viewers expected at least one wipe.

But the small girl never lost aggro, not even once.

In fact, her DPS ranking was quite high.

The boss fight didn’t last long. When the battle duration is short, there are fewer patterns to worry about, significantly increasing the raid’s safety.

Time passed quickly, and they arrived at the second boss.

Again, a similar situation played out.

The overwhelming firepower of the mages rapidly drained the boss’s health.

The entire raid’s DPS line was ranged, so unless something unusual happened, attacks wouldn’t miss. They didn’t even have to dodge the boss’s patterns to attack.

They did not falter.

The overwhelming comfort of it.

The mages’ uninterrupted damage resulted in massive bursts of power.

And so, the second boss also fell.

With things going this way, everyone began to have their suspicions.

The raid leader’s skill wasn’t ordinary; they were undoubtedly the alternate character of a top raid leader.

Speculation ran wild.

Most agreed that a main raid leader from a top-tier team was testing new tactics by forming this team.

The auction also proceeded smoothly.

It was a natural conclusion.

Even while clearing paths, Yeon continued to show an overwhelming performance.

She identified elite monsters popping up along the path, missing not a single one.

If a sub-tank let a monster slip, she would rush over, seizing aggro.

Swiftly maneuvering, she stabbed through the necks of the orcs, making sure they didn’t stray from her.

The mages could comfortably fire their skills without worry.

Then they arrived at the third boss.

Once again, a similar situation unfolded.

Though the sub-tanker let a few elite monsters through, the mages’ ice arrows quickly took care of them.

Everyone’s focus was now on the drops.

This was where common players wouldn’t even have the chance to glimpse these items.

Hearts racing, they checked the items the raid leader linked.

[Sun’s Right Fragment]

Strength +5, Health +5

Max Health +5%

Level Requirement 25

[Are you kidding? LOL]

[That’s garbage LOL]

[Is this a raid accessory?]

[Anything else?]

An item below expectations appeared.

Of course, no one bid on it.

In the end, the small girl looked around and used her 100 gold to take the item herself.

Immediately afterward, an out-of-place line came from the girl’s mouth.

“Everyone, take a 10-minute break for bathroom or smoke.”

[How long has it been so far?]

[50 minutes]

[Shouldn’t those boasting as ‘main raid’ players be hanging themselves in shame? LOL]

[A new raid group cutting to the third boss in 50 minutes LOL LOL]

[Middle schooler handing out smoke breaks (ex-military) LOL LOL]
