Shenyin and Shenyin

Chapter 167,734 words65 min read

In the world of Sword Dance, at 10 a.m., Eve and Anyue had just arrived.

“Finally back. Anyue, you really ate a lot last night.”

“You too. By the way, when are we going to deal with Misaka-chan?”

“Let’s wait a bit.”

Eve sighed, showing helplessness.

(I want to make a chef, but why does she want Misaka-chan so badly?)

“Well, besides, Mio and the others also like the Misaka sisters.”

“I actually prefer Mihara Rinon.”

“You’ve got taste similar to mine.”

“But your thoughts are childish.”

“Careful, or I’ll kick your butt.”

“Enough of that, let’s go to Mio’s place.”

(Feels like I’ll end up being led around by her sooner or later.)

The two of them then flew in the sky. Although they could teleport instantly, Eve flew a few rounds in the sky for the town’s safety.

“Looks like everything’s normal. Let’s head back.”

“Okay, let’s get some ice cream later too.”

When they arrived home, they found no one inside — same on both floors.

“Where is everyone?”

“Could it be that they all went out together?”

Eve summoned a detector and pressed a button.

After a while, someone answered.

“Who is it?”

“Shizuku, it’s me.”

“Little An, you’re back. My sister and I are at Shinjin’s place.”

“What about the others?”

“Some are patrolling, some on missions, and some just went out for fun. So probably no one’s home.”

“I see…”

Eve grabbed Anyue and teleported instantly to Shizuku’s location. When they arrived, they found the two on a spectator platform, and Shinjin nearby was startled.

“Please, don’t just appear out of nowhere like that. You’ll scare people to death.”

“Sorry, where is this place?”

“Look over there.”

Eve looked ahead and saw stoves lined up, with three people cooking. Mio and Rinslet were at the front and back.

“A cooking competition?”

“Yeah. Rinslet insisted on coming alone. Didn’t expect that Saint… no, Mio, would also show up.”

“Don’t slip up in public.”

“Little An, there’s something we need to discuss after the competition.”

Anyue became curious.

“What happened?”

“Let’s talk back home. It’s not convenient in public — the other Spirit Kings and Shinjin also know.”

“But it smells so good. Looks like fried rice in the pot. Is the competition about fried rice?”

“Yeah, it’s the final round. The judges are a humanoid dark elf and a middle-aged man.”

Anyue sighed.

(Smells so good, I really want to eat.)

Although Mio noticed Eve and the others, she didn’t lose focus — her eyes were on the fried rice in the pan.

“Phew, I wonder if I can beat Rinslet…”

Mio glanced at Rinslet’s pot.

(Shrimp, shellfish, fish flakes, cilantro, and… what are those two blue things?)

“Let’s do our best. But the other person seems to be making lamb fried rice! I can tell just from the smell. But how do you remove the gamey taste in fried rice?”

Although Mio was sweating, she had strong confidence in her dish. Also, to keep things fair, after results were announced, contestants were allowed to taste each other’s dishes.

Shinjin let out a breath of relief.

(If she wins, I won’t have to be the taste tester anymore.)

Actually, Rinslet had made Shinjin taste a lot of her dishes during preparation.

“Hey Eve, is that kitchen knife on Mio’s table actually Est?”

“Probably.”

“Not probably — it IS!”

Shizuku threw in a snark.

Shinjin turned to Shizuku and asked,

“Um, An… I mean, Shizuku, do you know what my sister likes?”

“Not really… food-wise, maybe ice cream?”

“I want to spend more time with her — she is my real sister after all.”

“Then let me ask, during the Great War, what would you have done if your sister was on our side?”

“Why ask that?”

“My sister and I want to learn human emotions — not for anyone else, but for ourselves. Just answer that question honestly.”

“My sister… well, I’d probably knock her out.”

“Then would you have been willing to negotiate with my sister? Like we’re doing now?”

“If she gave up, then sure — choosing peace would be fine.”

“Good answer. Also, I’m curious about one of your old colleagues.”

“Who?”

“Geo Inzart.”

“What about him?”

“You both had tough childhoods. I want to help fix that.”

“He should be okay. I remember back when I was 12, we did a mission together, and he saved a 5-year-old kid. Afterward he even said, ‘If you don’t want to die, then run.’”

“Seems he still has a conscience. No wonder he likes being around Sarati.”

“He’s with Sarati!?”

“They’re close. Geo even saved her.”

At that moment, a bell rang, and staff walked to the center and announced the end of the match. The contestants’ dishes were taken into the judging room.

Mio wiped her forehead and walked over to Rinslet.

“Rinslet, did you start learning cooking from elementary school?”

“Yeah. I also have lots of original recipes I haven’t shown yet. But Mio, your dish earlier was great too.”

“Thanks. I’m actually thinking of organizing a big tournament.”

“A big tournament?”

“The Blade Dance Festival is for sword and martial arts. I’m planning a global cooking competition — I don’t need to explain what that means, right?”

Rinslet’s eyes sparkled.

“A global cooking competition? I’m definitely joining!”

“It’s like the culinary version of the Blade Dance Festival. You can use spirits as knives, but each round will have specific themes — it’s not just about taste.”

“I understand.”

After a while, a purple-haired girl came out with a paper and announced,

“In the final round, Kirina takes first place, with Kamikoshi Mio and Rinslet sharing second!”

Both: “Huh!?”

The purple-haired girl smiled.

“Let me explain. Kirina’s lamb fried rice had a unique flavor from Tapet, making it unforgettable. No idea what ingredients she used.”

Kirina clapped her hands and answered seriously.

“I added a bit of the Holy Nation’s Yellowstone Beef Bone Broth and the Dragon Nation’s Dragon Rock Fruit. The broth keeps the rice dry and flavorful, while the fruit removes the gamey taste and keeps it sweet!”

“I see. Now let me explain why Kamikoshi Mio and Rinslet tied for second.”

Mio and Rinslet listened carefully.

“First, Rinslet’s seafood fried rice really brought out the freshness and even used pure water unique to the Elemental Spirit Realm…”

Rinslet was surprised. How did she know that?

The purple-haired girl looked at Rinslet’s shocked expression and smiled.

“Rinslet, I’m that spirit judge. I could never forget the taste of water from the Elemental Spirit Realm. Your fried rice was top-tier among seafood dishes. No off flavors — did you add that Crystal Fruit the water spirits love?”

“Yes. My foster sister (Isaria) once told me to add that to improve the taste.”

“Good. Now, about Kamikoshi Mio’s dish — your stuffed meat fried rice was also excellent, but both of you made a mistake!”

“Please enlighten us.”

“Rinslet’s seafood fried rice, although free from bad flavors, was a bit too ‘fresh.’ And Mio, your problem was with heat control — many spots were burnt. Normal people might not notice, but the other judge and I are experts.”

Mio sighed.

(The fire spirits here love to go full flame. At home, I always use medium or low heat.)

“I’ll be more careful next time.”

On stage, Anyue chuckled.

“Gas stoves would be better.”

Meanwhile, on the other side, Shinon and Mireia were strolling in the city center.

“Mireia, do you think the god who created the Spirit Kings could also make a spirit stronger than a Spirit King?”

“Maybe. Perhaps it’s meant to suppress someone like your brother.”

“As long as I’m around, no one can hurt my brother. I’m the strongest human!”

“How funny. Then what does that make me?”

“You’re an overpowered spirit-turned-human. I’m naturally high-potential. Totally different from you or my brother.”

“High potential? I’d like to see that, especially in the match five months from now.”

“Just a heads up — if my opponent is my brother, I want a one-on-one serious fight.”

“He has Shizuku’s divine power. Even now, I can’t fully go against a Spirit King.”

“That’s why I want to fight him one-on-one. I can take on a demon-level spirit barehanded.”

“Everyone knows that. You barehandedly beat a demon-class spirit — no ordinary human could do that.”

“I always get bullied at first by strong enemies, but then I grow insanely fast. Even I don’t know my limits.”

Mireia was stunned.

“I suspect you’re a sudden mutation with abnormal combat potential. Your brother is a reincarnated Demon King and Spirit King, so maybe that mutated power came from that.”

“Sounds like I’m a monster.”

“There’s all kinds of weird stuff in this world. I’ve stopped being surprised.”

“Enough talk. Let’s head back.”

Just then, a bob-haired black-haired girl approached Shinon and spoke.

“Excuse me, do you know where the Spirit Kings live?”

“We live with them. And you are?”

“My name is Kamine. I’m the seventh spirit created by God. Originally, God was supposed to bring me, but I snuck out alone to meet my sisters and got lost.”

Mireia found it funny. Shinon had just talked about whether God could make spirits — and one really showed up.

“I see. I’m Kazahaya Shinon. Nice to meet you. Just call me Shinon.”

“I’m Kamine. What about you?”

“Mireia Sentis. Nice to meet you.”

Since Kamine’s status was still unclear, Mireia didn’t dare speak too freely.

Grrr…

Kamine’s stomach growled. She blushed.

“Um… do you guys have any food?”

Although Kamine and Mireia both looked like cute 13-year-old girls, their personalities were quite ordinary.

Shinon took Kamine’s hand and smiled.

“Let’s go eat something delicious together.”

Kamine shyly nodded.

“Okay.”

The three of them found a seat in the restaurant, then Shenyin picked up the menu.

“Shenyin, Mireya, what do you two want to eat?”

“I’ll have beef rice.”

“Anything is fine.”

“Then let’s all have beef rice.”

Later, the waiter brought the food, and as soon as Shenyin took a bite, her eyes widened.

“So delicious! This is human food!?”

“You’ve never had food before?”

“No, I was just born this morning. Although I was born with the general knowledge and awareness of a ten-year-old human, I still need to learn.”

“Your purple eyes are like Mireya’s. You speak so cutely too.”

“Um, Shenyin, can I ask you a question?”

“Sure.”

“What’s the purpose of your creation by the gods? Are you a spirit king too?”

“My goal is to surpass my eight older sisters.”

“Eight?”

“The gods said the Holy and Dark Twin Kings are a bit complicated. The split-off wills are also spirit kings. Now they have completely independent souls. Shizuku doesn’t have past memories, but her split-off will does. Mio gave her original personality and memories to her split-off will, which caused her to lose many memories herself.”

At that moment, Mireya began to understand why Mio’s personality had changed so much.

“All of this was said by the gods?”

“Yes, they also said everyone should get along and not fight.”

Meanwhile, Shizuku and Eve heard everything through the detector.

“Little Darkness, is everything okay?”

“Don’t worry.”

(What is that Shanyingna thinking? I’ll go find her later.)

Eve went to a quiet corner and instantly teleported to Shanyingna.

Shanyingna smiled as soon as she saw Eve.

“You came about Shenyin, right?”

“Yes.”

“She’s the only elemental spirit in the spirit realm who possesses all attributes, a pure spirit, and the younger sister of the Six Kings. In one year, she’ll surpass even all the spirit kings and every elemental spirit in this world — excluding your modified ones.”

“That powerful? Is she easy to control?”

“She’ll be fine if she becomes friends with Mio and the others. Her knowledge and awareness is only that of a ten-year-old human.”

“What does she look like?”

“Very cute. But she has zero battle foundation for now. I hope you can treat her as a human being.”

“I’ll go meet her soon.”

“Also, I want to compete with Mio again. What do you think?”

“Just go easy on her.”

“Relax, I know my limits.”

“By the way, I heard you’re living in our city center now?”

“I just moved there. So much good food!”

“Just you?”

“Yep. Some of my subordinates aren’t very bright, so I didn’t tell them.”

“Why is a kid like you a god? I thought it’d be some terrifying-looking guy.”

“All spirit kings are the cute type. Could I really be scary?”

“In the eyes of spirit kings, you at least are.”

“I shouldn’t have let my daughters live independently. Alexander turned into a problem child because I ignored her.”

“So you want us to teach Shenyin?”

“Sorry, I’m not good at parenting.”

“Education, environment, and friends — you need all three. You should know why Alexander became selfish, right?”

“I didn’t fulfill my duties as a parent, but it won’t happen again. Also, I lifted the ban on spirit magic transformations.”

“The novel didn’t fully blame you, but now you’re all living beings. You should understand your responsibilities.”

“I understand!”

An hour later, Eve and Mio returned home, but Mio found an unfamiliar girl sitting next to Shenyin on the living room sofa.

Mio walked up and greeted her.

“Yo, hi!”

“Hello! I’m Shenyin.”

(Sounds just like what Little Darkness said on the way earlier.)

Eve had already teleported to meet Shenyin earlier and told Mio about her.

“I’m Kamikoshi Mio…”

“The god told me everything. You’re Big Sister, and the other one is Shizuku, right?”

“Yes, hello!”

“I’ve also met the wills of both sisters. Next, I’ll meet the other spirit king sisters.”

Mio smiled.

“Naris, Yugudora, go bring the food to the hall table.”

Both: “Yes!”

Since Luminarlis’ name was too long, Mio, Shizuku, and Rin just called her Naris.

Meanwhile, Eve entered Alexander’s room, where Alexander and Ren were chatting. Eve opened the door.

“Hey, your mom made a new little sister for you two, so it looks like you big sisters need to work harder.”

“Yeah, but both Ren and I think her personality is a lot like young Isaria.”

“Shenyin is a good name, but we still don’t know what element she is.”

“I know. Shanyingna said she’s the only spirit in the elemental world with all attributes. In a year, she’ll surpass all six kings, and even all elemental spirits in this world.”

But Alexander and Ren weren’t surprised — they smiled instead.

“That’s kind of exciting. But what kind of spirit king would someone with all elements be?”

“We should inform the human side too.”

“Wait, Mom wants us to treat her as a human.”

“As a human? Live as a human?”

“Go ask Mom yourself. Either way, the fact that she’s our sister won’t change.”

“Hey, can you share my and Ren’s memories with Mio and Shizuku? That way they’ll know more too.”

“Sure. I’ll do it after I finish the tasks Mio and Shizuku gave me.”

“Then can you cut off the shared memories between us and Shanyingna for now?”

“Give me a moment. There’s no rush anyway.”

(One thing at a time.)

Meanwhile, in the Holy Nation, Geo used Kara’s invention to unleash a new move. Geo slashed toward the lake, and the water split instantly, revealing the ground.

“Hey, Sarati! How’s this move?”

Sarati was shocked.

“Amazing! You split such a deep lake in one strike! No wonder the Spirit King sought you — it must be your talent.”

“Of course. I’ve also decided to stop being a Demon King and instead become someone who surpasses a Demon King in power!”

“Good luck! After all, you’re the strongest in our country now. If my sister were still alive, she’d take you to her private training grounds.”

“Private training grounds?”

“I only heard about it from her, don’t know where it is.”

“That’s fine. Last night, I ran into an old friend from years ago. He told me that the Skull Union recently stole a lot of ore from our country. Should I go get it back?”

“Of course! That ore is rare and part of my territory!”

“I’ll get it back, but I need to find out who’s behind it. Some in the Skull Union are a real pain.”

“Got it. I’ll go visit my sister and parents’ graves later. You go home now.”

“Alright~ I’ll head back to sleep.”

Sarati then walked to her family’s graves. Looking at her sister Sheila’s name on the tombstone, she recalled their happy childhood memories. She longed to return to those times, but knew it was impossible.

“Father, Mother, Sister — please rest easy! I’ll become an excellent ruler, treat the people well, and be the pillar of the nation!”

From a distance, Geo watched Sarati. Though he said he’d sleep, he still followed her.

“As expected, still a flower raised in a greenhouse. I’ll grab some fire fish to eat before going back.”

“Hey! Geo!”

Sarati called out and ran over.

“So you noticed.”

“I noticed a while ago. I’m still a Spirit User after all — I’ve got some anti-tracking skills.”

“That’s just the basics. Everyone at the Academy knows that.”

“Speaking of the Academy, don’t you want to visit your hometown? You were kidnapped for so many years.”

“Boring. What’s the point? I’d still be wandering around with no place to stay.”

Sarati actually hoped Geo would visit his birthplace.

“Let’s go together! You’ll also get to learn about other countries.”

“Do whatever you want. Though I’m not even sure it is my birthplace.”

“What do you mean?”

“I was kidnapped as a baby. But I know they record the place where they capture people. I think the Academy tampered with some of my memories.”

“Maybe the Kamikoshi Federation can help recover them.”

“No need. I’m fine as I am.”

“You’re so stubborn.”

Three hours later, Shenyin and Shenyin (the two of them) were admiring the lake view.

“Hey Shenyin, want to try the fun of fighting?”

“The fun of fighting?”

“Sometimes fighting can be really fun.”

“But I don’t know how to fight.”

“I’ll teach you. Let’s find a quiet place someday.”

“Okay. Should we tell Big Sister first?”

“Of course. Otherwise Lady Mio would be angry.”

“True. But you should get your eye treated. Having one eye isn’t good for you.”

“I’m used to it. Also, I want to test whether my brother still cares about me.”

“If you’re related, why test it?”

Shenyin looked confused, and Shenyin gave a wry smile.

“He abandoned me for so many years. Do you think there are still feelings? He even forgot I exist.”

“You hate your brother?”

“It’d be a lie to say I don’t. I even wanted to kill him once.”

Hearing this, Shenyin placed her hand on her chest and softly asked:

“What about now?”

“I’m planning a small revenge, but I still hope to reunite with him.”

Shenyin sighed in relief.

“Can I join your prank?”

“Of course — but it has to be harmless and playful.”

“What about putting laxatives in his food?”

“Better to use super spicy chili powder. A little girl once pranked me that way.”

“You two idiots!”

A voice called from behind them. They turned to see Rin.

“Lady Rin!”

“Rin sister!”

“Your prank skills are too weak. I’ve got better ideas.”

“What ideas?”

“If you stick something wet under a person’s foot while they sleep, they’ll have nightmares.”

“But how do we get close?”

“Just say it’s okay for siblings to sleep together occasionally — it’s been years anyway.”

“Good idea! I don’t mind sleeping with my brother.”

Shenyin gently took Shenyin’s hand.

“What does it feel like to sleep with family?”

“It’s very heartwarming, after all, I used to do it as a child.”

“I want to try too.”

Lin smiled a little after hearing that.

“Then sneak into Alexander’s bed tonight and try it.”

“Okay!”

Later, Shenyin told Mio, and Mio laughed loudly.

“Hmm hmm hmm hmm, interesting.”

“Then can I go too?”

“Of course. Want me to send you there?”

“I’ll go by myself, but can the adults grant me the ability to fly?”

“Certainly.”

Mio telepathically contacted Eve upstairs.

(“Xiao An, can you grant Shenyin flying ability?”)

(“You and Shizuku can do it too—just combine willpower and divine energy.”)

(“How do I use divine energy?”)

(“Hard to explain to humans, but it’s similar to your healing technique—just will it into being.”)

(“Thanks!”)

Mio gently held Shenyin’s hand, and her hand began to glow.

Then Mio let go.

“Try it.”

“Okay.”

Shenyin began to focus with her mind, and her body slowly rose into the air.

“Wow, thank you, my lady!”

“Remember to rest—flying uses more stamina than walking. If you need experience, ask Yugudora and the others.”

After a bit of practice, Shenyin felt ready and took off flying.

Heaven of the original world

“Long time no see, Eve’s mother.”

A girl appearing around 25, with the same blonde hair and red eyes as Eve, smiled.

“Didn’t expect you to resurrect me and my husband. What are you up to, Vienront?”

“Also, I… I apologize.”

“Where is my daughter?”

“Not sure. I just revived myself too.”

“Did your brother, Dark Vittel, revive you?”

“That’s right. I now agree to peaceful living for everyone. Do you and your husband plan to stay in Heaven or the human world?”

“Human world is better! Also, I plan to live as a normal human. Well, I’ll be going now.”

After Eve’s mother left, she thought a bit more.

(I can just use shared memory powers to access Eve’s memories, but before going to her with darling, I’ll play a prank first!)

“Divine One, the dark elf took advantage of me.”

Restia showed a mischievous smile.

“Miss Holy Sword, that’s my rightful spot. Can’t I have a taste?”

“I knew it! I should eliminate you!”

“Can you two just get along?”
The Divine One was a bit helpless.

Knock knock knock!

“Brother! It’s me, Miuya.”

“Miuya? Come in.”

After entering, Miuya hugged the Divine One.

“Brother! Lily discovered something important and sent me to tell you.”

“What is it?”

“That Geo guy is a royal from the Mountain Sand Kingdom. He was taken to the academy as a baby.”

“Mountain Sand Kingdom!? No wonder the surname Inzaghi sounded familiar.”

The Mountain Sand Kingdom was a small island nation like the Divine One’s homeland. He had done missions there before.

Restia smiled from the side.

“I thought the royal bloodline had ended. Didn’t expect it to be him. I originally thought it was just a coincidence of names.”

“Restia, do you know something?”

“I once heard from the academy elder that Aiye Gorge V. Inzaghi couldn’t have children anymore. At that time, Geo was only five.”

“Aiye Gorge V. Inzaghi… sounds like a queen. But how did Lily find this out?”

“Brother! Don’t tell me you forgot—after the academy captures someone, their location and identity are written in the records.”

“But if he regains his identity, won’t he come after us?”

“If he dares hurt brother, I’ll destroy him!”

“That would cause a national incident.”

“Divine One, Fire Cat and the others don’t know yet. Let’s tell them later.”

“Got it. But Claire said she wanted to read novels. No idea where she went.”

At this moment, Shenyin had flown halfway and realized high-speed flying consumed stamina quickly. Suddenly, a wave of energy came at her. Shenyin deflected it with a hand chop.

“Who’s there!!”

“Hehehehe… Are you human?”

A seductive female voice asked.

“Why are you attacking me?”

“Aren’t you the one who went to Forest of Inquiry?”

“No, I just got flying powers from the Spirit King and was heading to Alesia Spirit Academy to find my family.”

“Is that so? Then I don’t care about that person anymore. Now I’m interested in you.”

“Where are you? Show yourself.”

Suddenly, someone grabbed her shoulder from behind. Shenyin felt a chill down her spine.

“Behind you.”

Shenyin turned around and saw a 12-year-old-looking girl with blood-red eyes, silver-white hair, and a pale body.

Seeing her eyes, Shenyin gasped.

“Who are you!?”

“I’m a being created beyond what you humans call the Gate of Origin. I’m a failed creation of Lord Shanyingna from 3,000 years ago.”

“Do you have a name?”

“No such thing. As a failed product, I just wander around looking for fun.”

“Then I’ll be going. Maybe next time.”

“Wait. That earlier attack—you deflected it with your hand, right?”

“Yeah.”

“I’m at least at the level of a demon-god spirit. What power did you get from the Spirit King?”

“Just flying. I just have great natural talent.”

“That’s way too absurd compared to normal humans.”

“You call that absurd?”

“Then fight me!”

“Next time. Also, give yourself a name so I can call you.”

The girl paused.

“What’s your name?”

“Shenyin! Full name: Kazahaya Shenyin!”

“Kazahaya… so you’re the sister of the Night Demon King, Kazahaya Shinjin!?”

“Just to be clear, I’m no Night Queen—just a regular ice cream shop employee.”

“All right! You can go. I’ll think of a name.”

“Okay, bye!”

After Shenyin flew away, the girl showed a puzzled expression.

(Why does she carry an unknown energy? And why does she smell like Lord Shanyingna? Could she be her daughter!?)

Half an hour later, Shenyin arrived at the academy and landed on the dorm rooftop.

“Brother, I’m here♪”

But when she tried the roof door, she found it locked—so she simply forced it open.

“What was that sound?”

The Divine One looked up at the ceiling, but Miuya wasn’t pleased.

“Brother! Don’t look away when you’re with me.”

“Sorry.”

“But brother, I want to go to Moonlight City for some local treats. How about now?”

“Sure. I’ll go let Est and the others know.”

“No! What if they want to come too? I want to be alone with you.”

“Sigh, fine.”

“Yay!”

Miuya happily hugged the Divine One.

Knock knock knock!

The Divine One went to open the door.

“Who is it?”

When the door opened, his eyes widened.

“Shenyin!”

“I came to play, brother.”

Miuya ran from the room.

“Brother is my name for him. Who are you?”

“Kazahaya Shenyin, one year younger than Kazahaya Shinjin—his biological sister!”

Miuya was shocked and looked at the Divine One.

“Brother, is this the sister you mentioned before?”

“Yes. Her hair and eye color should’ve clued you in right away.”

“Hey little girl, are you my brother’s friend?”

“I’d say adopted sister. I’m Miuya Arlenstaru, nice to meet you—brother’s sister.”

“Nice to meet you too—sister to sister.”

“Shenyin, why are you here?”

“One, for fun; two, for a mission. Also, the lady gave me flying powers.”

“Mission?”

“I made a request to the Holy King.”

“About the tournament?”

“No, about you.”

“What business do you have with my brother?”

“May I call you sister?”

“I suppose if you’re my brother’s blood sister, then you’re my sister too.”

“Well, sister, I want to talk about our future ice cream shop. I want brother’s help.”

(Though this is part of what I want to say, the revenge plan must not be discovered.)

“Ice cream? Is it good?”

“Our hometown has a special ingredient. The ice cream made from it is unbelievably delicious.”

Miuya’s eyes sparkled.

“Where can I buy it? I want some!”

“Only our hometown has it now. But once I open a shop, I can get supplies.”

“Shenyin, where will you get money to open a shop?”

“Besides the lady, there’s someone else.”

“Mio?”

“Yup.”

“Your nationality is Shenyoester now?”

“Yeah. I never had household registration anyway. Living in a big country has always been my dream. I don’t care what Mio did in the past.”

Like many others, Shenyin casually called Mio and the Holy King by title, but refrained from doing so in public.

“Sister, are you serious?”

“Of course. If anyone causes trouble—even family—I won’t show mercy.”

“Divine One!”

Restia suddenly appeared.

“Miss Kamine, long time no see.”

“Restia, your aura is completely different from Mio’s Restia.”

“Well, she is my little sister, of course our personalities are different.”

“What about your Est, big brother?”

“She went off to eat tofu, and I felt your presence, so I came to check.”

Kamine frowned.

“This feels strange.”

“But Miss Kamine, are you planning to make a contract with a spirit?”

“Not for now. I’m strong enough to fight even Demon God-class spirits.”

“You’ve fought them before?”

“I have. Their bodies are harder than humans, but their heads are soft. Just aim for the head, punch fast, and the more hits, the better.”

“Are you really human?”

“Of course. My fighting style is just intense. Left, right, right punches combined with rapid strikes work well. Or right, left, right—then a strong left punch to knock the spirit down and finish with a powerful stomp on the head.”

“Are you serious? You’re that strong?”

Restia grinned mischievously.

“Want to try it out?”

“You might as well go fight a 3-meter-tall giant.”

“Boring. If I’m going to be around the Spirit King, I need something more challenging.”

“Is this from my mother’s side or the Holy King’s side?”

“Both. Sisters are sisters, doesn’t matter the side.”

“Kamine, what about your original home?”

“Of course, I go back a few times every year. Once I have money, I’ll help out everyone. Life in the slums is hard.”

“Miss Kamine, I thought you had a good relationship with the Holy King? Why not ask her for help?”

“Friendship is one thing, but I can’t take advantage of it. I’m from the slums too, you get what I mean, big brother?”

“True. People from the slums usually don’t end up with the Spirit King. Maybe it’s because you’re my little sister.”

Miuya sighed.

(How long are they going to talk? I want to go play.)

“Big brother! Don’t look down on people from the slums! That really hurts!”

“Sorry.”

Miuya pulled Kamine’s hand.

“Sis! Let’s go play?”

“Alright. Big brother, Restia, let’s go together.”

“Miuya wants to go to Moonlight City.”

But Restia smirked.

“Divine One, better call Miss Holy Sword too, or who knows how mad she’ll get.”

“Alright.”

Though Miuya wanted to go alone with Divine One, it looks like that’ll have to wait till next time.

In the city center, Anyue and Eve were wandering.

“Hmm?”

“What’s wrong, little Eve?”

“Anyue, I feel like someone tried to hack into my memory. I barely managed to block it with a defensive spell.”

“Let me check!”

Anyue grabbed Eve’s hand, but after five seconds, his eyes widened.

“Damn, someone from the original world tried to invade your mind. And their power might far surpass yours!”

He muttered under his breath, suspecting it might be Heaven’s doing.

“Did your uncle send someone?”

“Impossible. And that magic felt similar to yours. My family doesn’t have anyone like that.”

Eve began to sweat a little.

“Could it be… a clone of mine?”

“Then there’d be a bunch of Eve clones—like those Misaka Sisters.”

“Don’t joke about that. If someone else learns about my power, it’ll be a huge problem.”

“If you’re worried, go check the original world. I’ll protect you anyway.”

“I’ll be fine. As long as Mio and the others aren’t affected.”

“Just in case, I’ll leave a clone here. That way, no diversion or feint will work.”

“Tonight we move. Mio and the others only care about reviving the Holy Kingdom’s princess, I think.”

“But we can only stay for half a day. We don’t want Mio getting suspicious.”

“Then I’ll reinforce the barrier on the room.”

“Uuuuugh…”

Suddenly, Eve clutched her head in pain.

Seeing this, Anyue quickly placed his hand on her back and began chanting.

“Eternal Dark Shift – Guya’ao’xu!”

Eve’s expression began to ease. Anyue let out a breath of relief.

“Phew, thanks.”

“No problem. But your memories have already been copied—mine too.”

“You didn’t take precautions?”

“I always do. But they were ignored. Luckily, it’s only memory copying for now.”

“Let’s hope it’s not an enemy.”

Meanwhile, in the original world, Eve’s mother smiled.

“So that’s the reason. Little Anyue’s come too. Darling, what do you think?”

A silver-haired man on the couch, who looked about 20, smiled.

“More than meeting her, I’d like to see how much little Eve has grown—and meet the friends who saved her.”

“But don’t overdo it, darling!”

Eve’s mother could share memories with her father, and he was curious about their daughter’s development.

“We’ve just been revived. Let’s spend 12 hours watching their memories, then disguise ourselves as enemies to make an entrance.”

“I said don’t overdo it! I turned you into a true god before, but now that you’re freshly revived, your power’s unstable.”

“Yes, yes, my lovely Lil!”

“You too, my darling—Tris Nace!”

“Kamine, how’s the food?”

“Super delicious, big sis!”

“Right? Shizuku and I think so too.”

Luminarlis walked over.

“Milady, I have a report!”

“What is it?”

“There was an earthquake in Windpeck Island Nation. It might affect our import business.”

Mio snapped her fingers.

“Take 10,000 personnel for disaster relief. Bring supplies. And… Yugudora!”

Yugudora heard the call and ran down the stairs.

“Yes!”

“Go with Narlis to assist the earthquake victims in Windpeck Nation.”

“Understood!”

“Big sis, don’t human homes resist earthquakes?”

“Depends on the materials and quality. Also, I plan to fund rebuilding slums in other countries.”

“What are slums?”

“The worst living conditions with the least sanitation. People there often go hungry.”

“Then we must help them.”

“Of course. I won’t just sit by. Yugudora, gather people with Narlis and get moving!”

“Got it!”

Mio was doing this to protect everyone and maintain good relations between nations. But she remained wary of any dark forces.

“Big sis! I’m going upstairs to play with Sister Alexandra.”

“Alright. Hey, Edith! Brew me some tea.”

“On it!”

Edith happened to be in the kitchen, watching Shizuku cook.

In Alexandra’s room, Kamine sat on the bed.

“Sister Alexandra, I feel like there’s something off between you and Sister Ren.”

“What do you mean?”

“You and big sis aren’t even the same race, right?!”

“Of course. I’m just a split-off will. I’m not even sure I’m a spirit.”

Kamine looked puzzled.

“But I can see soul colors. You and Sister Ren have independent souls!”

Alexandra patted Kamine’s head with a smile.

“Don’t worry about it. As long as everyone’s happy.”

“I want to visit the Elemental Spirit Realm. Can I go with Sister Ren?”

“Sure. I’ll ask her.”

Then Alexandra and Ren took Kamine to the Elemental Spirit Realm. Kamine looked around curiously.

“Ren, what do you think of our new little sister?”

“She’s adorable. But I’m not sure about Shanyingna’s motives.”

“She’s the only spirit with all attributes and a human servant. If I’m right, she exists to control something.”

“Having a human servant probably stabilizes her personality.”

Suddenly, a stone spirit fell from the sky, startling Kamine.

“What happened?!”

Alexandra and Ren ran over and saw it was a subspecies of stone spirit, badly injured.

“It’s a variant spirit, and it’s seriously hurt.”

“Yimin liaosuo datuo… liangsanchai shuyi!”

After saying that, the stone spirit turned into light and vanished.

“Sister Alexandra, what did it say?”

“It accidentally stole an Exploding Fruit and got blown up. Also, the fruit was taken to the human world by a humanoid demon spirit!”

“Then we have to stop it!”

“No worries. Exploding Fruit loses its activity in the human world. It can even be used in cooking.”

“Poor stone spirit.”

“They usually don’t go after those fruits. Can’t believe it tried to steal one.”

“Say, Alexandra, come to my territory. We’ve got lots of Blood Fruits there.”

“Blood Fruits!? I thought you didn’t like others eating them before.”

“That was before. Nowadays, our food—burgers or whatever—is way better anyway.”

“Sister Ren, now I really want to eat a burger.”

“Alright, I’ll take you. But let’s grab some Blood Fruits first—they have divine effects.”

“Okay!”

Alexandra smiled secretly.

(She’s really just like a human child. Maybe one day Kamine will grow up to be like Mio or Nibecore.)

On the streets of Moonlight City

“Hey, Miss Kamine, what does my little sister usually like to do?”

“She likes playing with Nibecore and Nemesis. My friend Nii does too.”

“I see…”

(I’ll go meet her tomorrow.)

Kamine suddenly noticed something—her brother’s Est didn’t seem to care about the other Ests, and she walked closer.

“Est, why don’t you care about your other sisters?”

“I don’t have sisters.”

She said it naturally.

“Why not? Did my brother teach you something weird?”

“I definitely didn’t!”

Shinjin explained.

“It’s not about Shinjin. I decided this myself.”

“But even if the sisterly relationship is bad, isn’t it too much to outright say you don’t have a sister?”

“That’s not the issue.”

“Sis, where do you live now?”

“With the Spirit King. Mio and the others treat me really well. If I could become her right-hand one day, that’d be even better.”

“Is there any benefit to it?”

“Mio’s the one who gave me the ability to fly. I’m even planning to fix my eyesight, which humans couldn’t cure.”

“Then sis, are you planning to go against big brother in the next tournament?”

“Of course. My Shen’yue Ster Federation would never team up with outsiders—especially not with the brother who abandoned me for so many years.”

“Miss Shinon, you really like bringing up how your brother abandoned you.”

“Do you even understand how I felt back then? I nearly died countless times! Starved often, and lost vision in one eye! Even if brother had just snuck back to take me away to wander, it would’ve been better!”

“I’m sorry, Shinon.”

Shenren already felt terrible hearing Shinon say all this, but he still wanted to make it up to her. Even if it felt too late, he had to try.

“Big brother, just be with me from now on. When I open my ice cream shop, help me out once in a while.”

“Of course, no problem!”

“That’s good then.”

“Hey!”

An elf suddenly descended from the sky, with the same hair and eye color as Restia, wearing a black sailor outfit, but her eyes burned with hatred as she glared at Shinon.

Shinon just smiled.

“Long time no see, Dark Elf!”

The girl released a killing aura. Shenren sensed it, but before he could speak, Restia cut in.

“Feng’er, long time no see.”

“Why are you with that woman?”

“Looks like you two have history.”

“She’s the one! She severely injured Liaoli, Zhi’er, and me. Zhi’er’s now mentally broken!”

Restia turned to look at Shinon.

“Is that true?”

Shinon replied with a wicked grin.

“So what? They tried to steal something from someone else. I beat them nearly to death for it.”

Feng’er grew angrier.

“But you went too far! They almost died!”

“One more word and I’ll have the Holy King destroy you! Do you even know how important that item was to my village?!”

She naturally called out the Holy King.

“But you should’ve known your limits!”

“Fine, but don’t forget—you were the ones who tried to steal it first.”

“We were wrong, but you were too cruel!”

“I already said… that was something precious to my village! Can you blame me for being mad?”

Shenren became curious.

“Shinon, what was it?”

“A Dragon Jade Stone! A gift for the village chief. It was stolen on the way to his big birthday celebration, and I just happened to be helping out.”

Feng’er looked up at the sky.

“Hey! You, Shinon! Dare to fight me one-on-one again?”

In an instant, Shinon appeared behind Feng’er and placed her hand on her shoulder.

“Of course!”

Restia widened her eyes.

“Shenren, just now, Miss Shinon’s high-speed movement surpassed human limits. I barely saw it.”

“No idea what’s happened to her over the years.”

Feng’er broke into a cold sweat and exhaled.

“Did the Spirit King grant you some kind of power? That speed just now wasn’t human.”

“I’m just a sudden mutant. Not a spirit wielder—just strong in strength, defense, and speed. Plus fast growth.”

“Sudden mutant?! You’re kidding, right?”

“That’s what the villagers say. Don’t believe me? Go ask them.”

“But there’s no way your strength is on par with a Demon God!”

Note: Shinon is inspired by the new Broly—terrifying growth and rapid learning ability. Only thing she can’t do is energy blasts yet.

“Stop asking. If there’s a martial arts tournament in the future, I’ll request a one-on-one with you through the Holy King.”

“You and the Spirit King are close?”

“Of course…”

Shinon walked ahead.

“We’re basically friends.”

Feng’er sighed.

“If I lose, the Spirit King won’t give me trouble, right?”

“Nope. I’m sure you’ve improved a lot over the years anyway. Oh, and you know Restia?”

“Old friends. We were in the same faction thousands of years ago.”

“I see. Sorry for what I said earlier.”

“No need to apologize. I’ll fight for my two friends’ revenge.”

“Alright, but don’t beg me like last time—‘Please, let me go!’”

“Don’t bring that up! Especially with Restia here!”

Feng’er noticed Restia smiling and felt embarrassed. After all, an elf was defeated by a human who wasn’t even a spirit wielder—and it was three-on-one.

“Shinon!”

Another girl, identical in appearance and voice to Restia, suddenly appeared.

“Re… Restia?!”

Miuya grew curious.

(Why is there another Dark Elf?)

“Shinon, sorry for interrupting. Mio has something for you and asked you to return.”

Shinon sighed.

“A command from the lady—I have no choice.”

But Restia asked:

“Sister, what happened?”

“Sorry, sis. I can’t tell you.”

“And you are?”

Feng’er looked at her and asked.

“I’m Restia Ashudol—Restia’s biological younger sister.”

“Restia’s sister? I had no idea!”

“Of course. It hasn’t been made public. Shinon, let’s go.”

“Alright!”

Then Shinon turned and hugged Shenren.

“See you next time, big brother!”

“Okay!”

Shinon and Restia flew off.

But Restia now wore a serious expression.

When Shinon hugged Shenren, she released killing intent. Shenren didn’t feel it, but Restia did. And when her sister said “Mio has something for you,” she began suspecting a plan. If it were a joke, that kind of bloodlust wouldn’t be there.

As for Shinon—

“Restia, are you afraid of bugs?”

“Not really. Why?”

“When I hugged big brother, a mosquito flew onto my nose… It bit me. I wanted to swat it, but doing that suddenly would’ve scared him.”

“Hehe, how considerate.”

“Well, he is my big brother after all.”

46 minutes later, the two flew home. Everyone was in the living room.

“What’s up?”

Shinon looked curious.

Eve spoke up.

“It’s like this, Shinon. I, Anyue, Mio, Shizuku, Lin, Alexander, and Ren will go to another world for a mission. We’re counting on you to look after Shenyin.”

“Yes! Put her on me.”

“Then everyone, we entrust the country to you!”

Everyone: “Yes!”

Nemesis smiled.

(Though I’m curious about the other world, there’s a lot of fun here too. Time to enjoy myself!)

Then Eve, Anyue, Mio, Shizuku, Lin, Alexander, and Ren all disappeared.

In a white space—

“Xiao An, this still feels so sudden.”

“Sorry. I didn’t explain clearly via telepathy earlier. If Anyue and I left alone, we might’ve been lured away. Now, you and Ren take the forms of the Saintess and Ren, while Alexander and Ren use the bodies I prepared. As for Lin…”

“I don’t need to change. If I see someone I know, I’ll just say I’m staying at a friend’s house.”

“Eve, what should we call each other?”

Anyue’s reminder helped Eve realize—

They couldn’t use real names.

“Everyone, choose your own.”

“I’ll be Ram Lias. Last name Lias.”

“I’ll use the same surname as sis. Rem Lias.”

“Watched Re:Zero too much,”

Anyue couldn’t help but tease.

“What about Alexander and Ren?”

“Ari Nireit. Nireit was a human surname in my world.”

“I’ll use Aiko’s surname too. My name will be Kazehaya Reni.”

“Reni sounds nice. But it’s all thanks to Anyue’s power that we can go.”

Anyue crossed her arms and smiled.

“No big deal. Just play with me more later.”

“Alright, everyone—let’s depart!”
