“Get out. We’re here.”
A familiar voice rang out. Appearing before Vivian again was Lucia.
“…Sigh.”
Vivian let out a long sigh, gritted her teeth, and shakily stood up.
She supported herself with her hands on the side of the carriage, preparing to disembark.
She was ready to face her fate.
But to her surprise, Lucia even extended a hand, taking Vivian’s and helping her out of the carriage, seemingly without any hostility.
She even seemed quite friendly, with a hint of amusement and a smile in her eyes.
“Ngh…”
After getting out of the carriage, the dazzling sunlight still made it impossible for Vivian to open her eyes for a moment.
“Are you alright? You look like you’re about to die.”
Lucia’s voice, tinged with a hint of jest, sounded out.
“It’s just some weakness from losing my mana… I’m not about to drop dead just yet.”
Taking a breath, Vivian’s eyes finally adjusted to the scene before her.
There were no angry crowds, no malicious glares.
What greeted Vivian’s eyes was a thriving human city.
At the same time, after she disembarked from the carriage that had imprisoned her for the past few days, it began to slowly depart.
“Follow me.”
Lucia let go of her hand and, with a smile, spoke to Vivian in a relatively gentle tone.
Looking at the strongest Hero before her, Vivian was completely bewildered, unable to make heads or tails of the situation, but she still obediently followed behind Lucia.
“Where is this?”
She asked curiously.
“This is my domain, my city, Luo City.”
Lucia said breezily, leading Vivian through the city towards the largest and most prominent castle in the center.
“Lady Lucia is back!”
“Lady Lucia!”
Along the way, the city’s residents, seeing the returning Lucia, greeted her enthusiastically.
This was only natural.
Vivian put on a cloak, covering her head, and timidly followed beside Lucia as she was led towards the castle.
Lucia responded to the residents’ enthusiasm with a smile.
Vivian’s presence didn’t seem to attract much attention or curiosity from the other humans.
But that was fine too.
It was nice to just be a quiet, transparent little figure.
With that thought, Vivian obediently followed Lucia through the city and into the castle.
The castle was empty, with only a few attendants maintaining its cleanliness and order.
At the same time, the castle lacked any other superfluous decorations, making it seem particularly cold and empty.
“This place is…?”
Vivian asked cautiously.
“My enfeoffed mansion, and also your current prison—it used to belong to a noble lord, but his entire family has already been hanged. The charge was corruption and colluding with the Demon Clan.” Lucia shrugged. “As for the other things here, they were all donated. It’s empty now anyway, so I’m using it to live in and host other guests… Of course, it’s nothing compared to the demon castle you used to live in. A bit shabby, but I’m sure you won’t mind, right?”
“…I don’t mind.”
Vivian responded with a blank expression.
Did she dare say she minded right now?
What a stupid question!
To be honest, Vivian was a little nervous at first, but she gradually began to feel indifferent—after all, from the looks of it, Lucia, the legendary Hero of Light, was relatively “kind.”
As long as she cooperated, she probably wouldn’t have a very tragic end, right?
And so, with a feeling of unease, Vivian was led by Lucia to her room.
To her surprise, it wasn’t a small, dark room, nor was it a cold, damp underground dungeon, but an ordinary bedroom.
“…?”
Vivian’s eyes couldn’t help but widen—how should she put it? It was a little different from what she had expected.
“What? Don’t you like your prison?”
Lucia peeked her head out from the side, looking at the subtle expressions on Vivian’s face with great interest, and asked playfully.
“It’s just a little different from what I imagined.”
Blinking, Vivian also breathed a sigh of relief.
She stepped forward, walked around the room, and finally sat down on the edge of the bed.
There wasn’t much in the room, but compared to a small, dark room or a gloomy basement, it was far, far better.
“What, were you expecting stinky men and a dark, lightless basement?”
“Not really…”
Lucia seemed to be quite knowledgeable about certain things, and she spoke with a light smile.
Vivian looked up at the Hero of Light before her, somewhat dumbfounded.
And at this moment, the Hero, standing and looking down at the Demon Lord before her, at that exquisitely tempting face, had an idea pop into her head.
With that, she reached out and gently pushed Vivian’s shoulders.
“Eh?”
With her mana sealed, completely defenseless, and a dazed look on her face, Vivian fell onto the bed.
What she faced was the young Hero, who was sporting a mischievous grin.
“I’ve decided. Demon Lord of Evernight, Vivian, you will become my wife and atone for your sins that way.”
“Huh?”
Watching Lucia gradually approach, Vivian’s entire mind went blank.
Vivian had never expected this.
It was one thing to be inexplicably transmigrated into a Demon Lord.
It was another to be attacked by the strongest Hero a week after transmigrating and be defeated without any chance of winning.
But now she was supposed to become her wife?
That night, lying in bed and staring at the ceiling, Vivian couldn’t help but think this.
True, after Lucia pushed her onto the bed, the mana-sealed Vivian had no ability to resist and could only be at her mercy—but then again, even if she had her mana, she was no match for Lucia, was she?
So at that time, lying on the bed and looking at the Hero of Light before her, Lucia had also given up resisting.
…Besides, the other woman’s looks were truly top-tier, capable of toppling nations.
On second thought, getting close to a beautiful girl wasn’t a loss by any means, so Vivian very readily accepted her fate.
And Vivian felt that Lucia’s attitude towards her was very strange.
She didn’t humiliate or tease her as Vivian had imagined.
On the contrary, she provided Vivian with simple but comfortable living conditions, and even allowed her to walk freely in the castle garden.
The only restrictions were the unbreakable mana seal and the prohibition from leaving the castle.
In the following days, life was rather peaceful.
Lucia would wake up early and leave the castle.
During this time, Vivian was allowed to move freely within the castle, though there wasn’t much she could do.
It was mostly just flipping through books under the distant watch of the other attendants to learn about the current world.
And when night fell, Lucia would return with a look of exhaustion on her face, and then unceremoniously demand that Vivian “serve” her.
This was the daily routine for Vivian after being captured by Lucia.
