I Handed in a Blank Paper

Chapter 10 • 1,696 words • 15 min read

Zhou Yining’s lips curled up slightly.

She had originally planned to let this matter go, but she didn’t expect this Teacher Cao to be so narrow-minded, so she couldn’t be blamed for what was to come.

After writing her name and class on the answer sheet, Zhou Yining stopped moving.

She planned to hand in a blank English exam.

Anyway, it wasn’t the national college entrance exam.

Handing in a blank paper was just to express her dissatisfaction with the English teacher, especially since her grades in other subjects were good, a blank English paper would stand out even more.

She didn’t answer the questions or look at the paper, but Teacher Cao’s eyes were fixed on Zhou Yining.

He wanted to say something, but he held back in the end.

It would be a good thing for him if Zhou Yining didn’t do well on the exam.

She was just a mischievous student, not worth getting angry with.

And so, Zhou Yining lay down on the desk and slept for a while.

Feeling uncomfortable in her back, she sat up again and stared at the paper aimlessly.

When it was time to hand in the answer sheets at the end, the last student in their row was shocked to see Zhou Yining’s answer sheet.

She whispered a reminder to Zhou Yining, “You forgot to fill in your answer sheet. I’m going to collect the ones in front first, you quickly fill it in.”

Zhou Yining smiled calmly at her.

“No need, just hand it in like this.”

“What? Okay then.” She took Zhou Yining’s answer sheet and couldn’t help but give Zhou Yining a thumbs up.

This was really bold.

The answer sheet was cleaner than her face, with nothing written on it except her class and name.

After the third exam, it was time to leave school.

Because of the exam, the teachers had notified the parents in the parent group that all students would stay at school for lunch in the cafeteria today and the liberal arts exam would start at 1:30.

Zhou Yining got up from her seat, and Tian Xue had already run over.

“Let’s go, let’s go to the cafeteria together.”

Zhou Yining nodded.

Although she wasn’t familiar with Tian Xue, Tian Xue was still the original owner’s friend, and she couldn’t refuse.

“Okay, let’s go.”

“Hey, the questions in the morning were really difficult, how did you do on the exam?” Tian Xue asked.

“It was okay, except for English which I didn’t answer, I answered all the questions in the other two subjects.” Zhou Yining said confidently.

“What do you mean by didn’t answer?” Tian Xue was stunned and asked subconsciously.

“It means I didn’t write anything on the answer sheet, I handed in a blank paper.” Zhou Yining said frankly.

“Hiss, no, how dare you do that? Teacher Cao is already petty, you’ve completely offended him by doing this.” Tian Xue was almost frantic.

Zhou Yining smiled and didn’t take it seriously.

“It’s okay, he offended me last time too.”

“You can still laugh, you’re really carefree.” Tian Xue said with emotion.

She looked at Zhou Yining through her thick bangs, and felt that this friend of hers had become different from before.

“Of course, let’s go, let’s go eat. I wonder if the cafeteria has spicy hot pot.” She wanted to eat something stimulating.

“Yes, but there are a lot of people lining up there, you’ll have to wait a while.”

“It’s okay, I’ll wait if I have to.” Zhou Yining smiled and walked towards the cafeteria.

She and Tian Xue finally found an empty table.

Zhou Yining occupied the spot first, and Tian Xue went to get food.

When Tian Xue came back, she would go to get spicy hot pot.

Spicy hot pot was very popular among students.

Zhou Yining was standing at the back of the line, attracting the attention of many people.

No other reason, the things on the confession wall were still up, and no one in the second year of high school didn’t know her now.

Zhou Yining didn’t care, she stood there with a straight posture, waiting for her spicy hot pot.

Jiang Xizhi and her two followers also came over.

Because of the monthly exam, the school didn’t open the school gates at noon today, and the students could only squeeze into the cafeteria to eat.

Jiang Xizhi had already lost her appetite seeing the crowded cafeteria.

The young miss never ate in the cafeteria.

A servant from her family would come to deliver her food every afternoon.

This was the first time Jiang Xizhi had eaten anything in the cafeteria.

She looked at the various windows with disgust and didn’t want to eat anymore.

Seeing that her expression was not right, Shi Yuanyuan quickly said with a smile, “Zhizhi, what do you want to eat? We’ll get it for you.”

“That’s right, find a place to sit down first.” Si Yaqing also echoed.

However, the fist on her side was clenched tightly.

If her family hadn’t told her to please Jiang Xizhi, she wouldn’t be standing in front of Jiang Xizhi like a servant.

Jiang Xizhi didn’t know what to eat either, and looked at the windows hesitantly.

Just as she was scanning the windows, she saw Zhou Yining holding a bowl of something and squeezing through the crowd.

Zhou Yining also saw Jiang Xizhi.

She smiled at Jiang Xizhi.

“You’re here to get food in the cafeteria too? Hurry up, some of the food at some windows has already sold out.”

Jiang Xizhi’s eyes fell on Zhou Yining, and then her eyes fell on the bowl in Zhou Yining’s hand.

Jiang Xizhi asked curiously, “What is this?”

“Spicy hot pot, do you want to eat it? If you do, I’ll get another one.”

Zhou Yining’s tone was casual, as if she was talking to a friend, which made Jiang Xizhi feel very comfortable.

“Is it good?” Jiang Xizhi asked with some doubt.

“It’s delicious, I ordered it mild. You can try it. You don’t have to eat so healthy every day. Let’s go, my friend saved a table, I’ll take you over there first.” After all, Jiang Xizhi had helped her, so she should do something in return.

The original owner was poor, but at least there was still money on her meal card.

It wouldn’t hurt to treat her to a spicy hot pot.

Jiang Xizhi had no appetite for the crowded cafeteria and didn’t want to wait in line to get food.

Seeing that Zhou Yining had said so, she simply followed the steps Zhou Yining gave her and followed behind Zhou Yining, waiting for Zhou Yining to take her to find a table.

Shi Yuanyuan gave Si Yaqing a look, and Si Yaqing quickly said, “Zhizhi, how about we just forget it and we’ll get it for you?”

Jiang Xizhi didn’t want to wait anymore, she just wanted to find a place to sit down for a while.

“No, I’ll just eat her bowl. You two go get food yourself and come find me later.”

Shi Yuanyuan and Si Yaqing didn’t move, and the two followed behind Jiang Xizhi, glaring at Zhou Yining from time to time.

Zhou Yining arrived at the table that Tian Xue had saved with the bowl in her hand.

Tian Xue was surprised to see that the person who came was Jiang Xizhi, and quickly said, “I suddenly remembered that I left something in the class. You guys eat first, I’ll come over to eat by myself later.”

“Find it after eating later.” Zhou Yining reminded her.

“No need, you and them eat first.” Tian Xue lowered her head and left in a hurry.

Zhou Yining was confused.

She knew that Tian Xue was introverted, but she shouldn’t be this introverted, right?

Was it impossible for her to eat with other people?

However, since she had said so, Zhou Yining nodded.

“Okay, then come to the cafeteria to eat as soon as you find your things, otherwise the food will be gone later.”

“I know.” After speaking, Tian Xue smiled apologetically at Jiang Xizhi, and then ran away.

Zhou Yining put the bowl in her hand on the table, then took out a tissue, bent down very naturally, wiped the stool, and then smiled very familiarly at Jiang Xizhi.

“Sit down, eat first, I’ll get another one.”

“Thank you.” Jiang Xizhi’s ears turned red, and the young miss, who was used to being taken care of by others, thanked Zhou Yining awkwardly.

She felt that Zhou Yining was different from Shi Yuanyuan and the others, but Jiang Xizhi couldn’t remember exactly where the difference was.

Since she couldn’t remember, she simply didn’t think about it.

When Jiang Xizhi raised her eyes, she saw Zhou Yining helping her wipe her chopsticks with a napkin, and then handed the chopsticks to her.

“Just use these, I’ve wiped them clean. Eat first, it won’t taste good if it gets cold. I have to go get another bowl quickly.” With that, Zhou Yining rushed into the crowd, preparing to continue queuing up.

Shi Yuanyuan and Si Yaqing then left with gloomy faces.

“Did you see that Zhou Yining? She’s even more attentive than the two of us. She’s really able to bend and stretch. We’re just helping Jiang Xizhi get food, but she’s even taken on the job of wiping the stools.”

Shi Yuanyuan pushed her glasses, dissatisfied.

“I don’t believe she can stand Jiang Xizhi. You wait and see, she’ll have to stay away from Jiang Xizhi in less than a week.” Si Yaqing didn’t take it seriously.

“I’m just afraid that she’ll really get close to Jiang Xizhi by then. I don’t want anyone else around Jiang Xizhi.”

“Don’t worry, what kind of family does Jiang Xizhi have? She’s a young miss, how could she become friends with Zhou Yining? Let’s just keep a close eye on her.” Si Yaqing said with a smile.

“Yeah, let’s go get food first, and then go back to find Jiang Xizhi quickly.”

As they spoke, the two also plunged into the crowd getting food.
