The girl was suspended midair, her body bound by the tentacles extending from Ping Chengcheng’s back.
Ping Chengcheng walked silently along the mountain path for a full hour, her face expressionless.
She ignored the unbearable pain coursing through her injured body. Along the way, two zombies crossed her path.
She tried to use her tentacles to kill and absorb them, hoping it would help her recover.
But the effect was negligible.
One zombie barely offered the tiniest bit of relief. If she wanted a full recovery, she estimated she’d need to devour dozens.
Song Ning let out low, hoarse growls through her pale lips. Ping Chengcheng hadn’t gagged her—she wanted to hear her sister’s voice. Without it, she felt lonely.
“Sister, do you like me?”
“Rrgh…”
“Mm, I like you too, Sister~”
The girl spoke cheerfully.
The journey was easy, and Ping Chengcheng was in an oddly good mood, though she didn’t know why.
Sister kept making sounds now and then—low, drawn-out growls. To Ping Chengcheng, it felt like she was saying ‘I love you’ over and over again.
“Aiya, Sister, I love you too. You don’t have to keep saying it, silly.”
“Rrgh~”
The girl smiled helplessly.
“You little troublemaker, you’re still saying it.”
The brown tentacles lowered Song Ning to face her.
“RRGH!” Song Ning caught the scent of human flesh, snarling and stretching her neck forward to bite, her small fangs bared. Her jade-like skin, to Ping Chengcheng, looked like a priceless gem.
“Sister, your skin is so beautiful… like fine jade.”
She curled her lips into a smile.
“Sister, do you want to kiss me? You’re always squirming around.”
She laughed softly.
“Alright, let’s find a safe place first. It’s too dangerous here.”
“There are bad people everywhere—so hateful!”
A rustling came from the withered roadside grass. A zombie burst out.
Its chest cavity was gaping, ribs bared, and its legs were as thin as chopsticks. But it moved with shocking speed.
“GRRRAAAH!”
Ping Chengcheng frowned with annoyance. Damn pests, always interrupting her and Sister’s conversation.
The instant it lunged at her, a thick, knotted tentacle shot out like lightning and pierced through the zombie’s skull.
“Let’s go, Sister~”
Half an hour later, a small town appeared in the distance.
“Ooh~ There’s quite a few zombies here~”
A red gleam flickered in her eyes, glowing with ominous light.
There were at least a dozen zombies scattered along the street.
One zombie sensed her presence and shrieked as it charged forward. The rest followed suit, swarming toward her without hesitation.
But they would never taste the warm, fragrant flesh they sought.
Her tentacles whipped and danced chaotically, tearing through them with ruthless precision.
With a portion of her strength restored, Ping Chengcheng’s steps became lighter and more energetic.
“Rrgh~” Song Ning snarled from above, her drool dripping down onto Ping Chengcheng’s cheek.
Ping Chengcheng licked the corner of her mouth and raised her eyebrows.
“Sister, are you hungry? Just wait a bit, I’ll prepare something for you.”
They continued walking until they reached a nearby apartment complex. After swallowing a few more zombies, Ping Chengcheng’s injuries had mostly healed.
A sharp light glinted in her eyes. She hadn’t expected recovery to come this fast.
One name surfaced in her mind.
Ping Chengcheng’s smile grew cold.
Huang Zhong.
You’re dead.
She entered the apartment and casually chose a clean room.
Unbinding Song Ning, the zombified girl immediately lunged at her, their bodies colliding.
“RRGH! RRGHH!!”
Song Ning snarled excitedly, her eyes brimming with hunger and desire.
Ping Chengcheng giggled, blushing as she covered her face shyly.
“Sister, you’re in such a rush.”
“You want me that badly? But you can’t be so impatient.”
She gently pushed her back.
Song Ning, despite her size and former strength, couldn’t overpower her. That small, slender girl held more power than she could resist.
All she could do was growl and scratch, leaving red marks on Ping Chengcheng’s skin.
“Aiya, Sister, you’re always touching me without permission.”
Ping Chengcheng pouted.
“Hold on! I’m still dirty. At least let me clean up first.”
She tore some fabric into strips and bound Song Ning in the room before stepping out.
Half an hour later, she returned with five large water containers.
Unbinding Song Ning, she used her tentacles to restrain her again and began to help her undress.
Her jade-toned skin was cool and smooth to the touch. Ping Chengcheng’s heartbeat quickened, her cheeks flushing deeply.
She undressed herself as well. Then, with her tentacles hoisting the water containers above them, she pulled Song Ning into the bathroom.
A steady stream of clean water fell from above, drenching them both.
The girl helped Song Ning wash the filth from her body, then scrubbed herself clean.
After they had rinsed off, the two clung to each other and stepped out of the bathroom, resting in each other’s arms.
Song Ning pushed Ping Chengcheng onto the bed, her eyes blazing with ravenous intent, burying her face into the crook of her neck.
“Crunch… slurp…”
The sounds were tender, intimate.
Ping Chengcheng’s body tensed with excitement, her small toes curling from the sensation.
Her voice rasped, full of breathless joy.
“Sister… do you love me that much?”
“You really couldn’t wait, huh~”
Their bodies embraced tightly, sharing warmth and possession.
“But…”
Ping Chengcheng’s eyes turned cold.
Then softened again.
She tilted her head and looked at the girl nestled against her shoulder, gently patting her head.
“Sister, you must never do this sort of thing with anyone else, okay?”
“Promise me?”
“Rrgh!”
“Sister is so obedient. I knew you were the best.”
She smiled faintly, the red light in her eyes pulsing with intensity.
When morning came, Ping Chengcheng woke up sore from head to toe.
Song Ning lay sprawled on the bed, completely satisfied, not moving an inch.
Ping Chengcheng didn’t wake her.
She noticed something—her recovery speed had improved. She examined herself but couldn’t find any wounds.
Only internal pain reminded her she had limits.
Looks like she’d need to find more blood packs soon to top off her vitality.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to keep feeding Sister.
Over the morning, she devoured more than a hundred zombies in total. Her strength soon returned to its peak.
Energetic, she returned to the apartment.
The moment she opened the door, Song Ning lunged forward, eager to meet her.
Ping Chengcheng caught her hands indulgently.
“Sister missed me that much, huh? You welcomed me the second I came back.”
“Today’s food is already prepared, you know.”
After feeding her, Ping Chengcheng resumed their usual travel setup—carrying Song Ning suspended behind her with her tentacles.
As they walked, Ping Chengcheng kept up their usual chatter.
But something felt off.
‘Sister’s talking so much today… but she sounds so tired.’
“Sister? Are you sick?”
“Rrgh…” Song Ning groaned weakly, thoroughly fed up with being dangled around all day.
Ping Chengcheng sighed.
‘Looks like she really is sick. Her voice has no energy at all.’
“Sister, let’s go back to the shelter.”
“That bastard Huang Zhong… I’ll make sure he wishes he were dead.”
