School Manager

Chapter 9828 words7 min read

“I know him. He’s from the junior division of Soluo Academy.”

Soke frowned. For a mage of his level, all it took was a spark of memory to recall a lot of things.

“I remember now. He’s the one who utterly crushed all the top students in our junior division?”

In a private academy, if the teaching isn’t better than the public schools, it might as well shut down.

So every private school had one thing in common: no matter how bad their teaching was, it had to be better than the average public school.

Especially the one Soke managed.

He was confident that among all junior and senior divisions in the education world, his students were absolutely first-rate.

But in this world, there are always monsters.

Monsters who can ignore learning resources, infrastructure, and faculty.

Who can gain the most with the least effort.

Collins was that kind of person.

He attended an ordinary junior magic school.

But in various school mock battles, not only did he defeat students several grades above him—

He also embarrassed Soke’s proudest students.

“Yeah, this guy is the one who made you lose face, Principal.”

“This guy is here to apply too?”

The assistant flipped through the materials and shook her head decisively.

“No application file from him.”

Soke fell silent.

While he was silent, Aikefisi had already completed the reconstruction of the tier-three magical circuit.

Amid the amazed looks of the interviewers, she walked out with Collins.

Soke suddenly realized where that damn brat had come from.

“This guy was brought by Aikefisi?”

“That, I’m not sure. But I can check for you later.”

Soke stroked his chin.

“If you go, it might be rude. So how about this: have Aikefisi come to my office later. I’ll speak with him myself.”

The assistant nodded obediently.

Standing outside the door, Collins felt as if he had been deceived.

But since Aikefisi was still inside awaiting the interviewer’s final evaluation, no matter how frustrated he felt, he couldn’t say anything now.

After all, his suspicions might just be that—a guess.

He took a few steps forward.

With his enhanced senses from meditation, he heard a burst of hurried footsteps coming from the stairwell nearby.

Someone was charging around the corner with a huge stack of paper documents.

The stack was so thick it completely covered the person’s face.

Perhaps because of the speed, the person twisted their ankle halfway through.

Then—sheets of white paper flew everywhere.

Between the gaps of fluttering paper, Collins caught a glimpse of a face gentle and timid like a baby deer.

Unfortunately, the owner of that face saw the scattered documents flying through the air and immediately looked defeated.

Tears welled up in her bright eyes, ready to fall.

Collins paused and made eye contact with the girl still sprawled on the floor.

Maybe because her embarrassing moment was witnessed by the boy before her, the tears in the baby-deer girl’s eyes became heavier, almost dripping out.

At a time like this, instead of solving the problem, she was still thinking about crying.

Women…

Collins shook his head helplessly in his mind, but said aloud, “Don’t cry. If you cry, you won’t get anything done.”

Sure enough, the baby-deer girl stopped her tears from falling instantly.

Collins waved his hand.

Wind elements slowly rose around him.

With their guidance, the scattered papers in the corridor floated and gathered in his hand.

In just over ten seconds, Collins had collected every last sheet.

The girl was clearly astonished by his elemental magic.

Her mouth parted slightly in awe.

“Here, take it.”

The baby-deer girl bit her lip.

“I, um, I…”

“If you’re short on time, don’t bother thanking me. It was no trouble.”

The girl quickly took her documents.

“Thank you, thank you! I’ll definitely repay you one day!”

With that, she ran off in a hurry, clearly having something urgent.

Just then, Aikefisi, who had finished her interview, came out too.

She glanced in the direction the girl had gone.

“Junior, you really know how to show pity to a damsel in distress.”

“It was nothing. I’ve got something more important to ask you, Senior.”

Aikefisi caught the subtle shift in Collins’ expression.

In a corner where he couldn’t see, she quietly clenched her fist.

“Alright, go ahead.”

“This test wasn’t hard, Senior Aikefisi. Don’t tell me you brought me here just for something so boring?”

Collins was not easily fooled.

In fact, anyone capable of becoming a mid-level mage—no matter how low their emotional intelligence—couldn’t be dumb.

And once someone isn’t dumb, they’re naturally good at spotting logical connections.

Aikefisi spread her hands.

“Does it matter?”

“In the end, I was just using you, Junior.”

“As for how I used you—do you really want to know all the details?”

Collins shook his head.
