Three days passed in a flash.
Long Ling and Mo Dai shopped everywhere, quickly preparing the goods they needed to buy, and also befriended many local merchants.
These merchants were very polite to Mo Dai and took good care of her.
Seeing her mother’s business booming and earning a lot of gold coins every day, Long Ling’s idea of opening her own shop stirred again.
The tavern she ran was given to Violet, and now that life wasn’t so busy, she was actually a little unaccustomed to it.
After the Elven Mother Tree Festival, she wanted to start her own business.
Life in the Elf tribe was very comfortable, but perhaps because of her dragon nature, she craved gold coins even more than before, hoping to have her own mountain of gold coins.
After leaving Violet, the world was vast.
Whatever she did, her mother would support her, and no one would tell her anymore that this couldn’t be done or that couldn’t be done.
She had discovered many different ingredients on this continent and could use her own hands to create different delicacies.
Although the Livo Continent was said to be rampant with thieves, Long Ling felt that as a dragon, she shouldn’t be afraid of them.
When she got back, she would learn some physical skills from Eloris.
If she encountered petty thieves, she might be able to scare them, and maybe even rob them back.
There were no taxes here, and the shop rent was very cheap.
With the wealth she currently possessed, she could invest in a shop in the most central location here.
Her mother’s shop was located in the most central area, and she could enjoy the benefits of being close to her.
She could open her shop near her mother’s store, and her mother would definitely take care of her.
Thinking about making a big splash next, Long Ling began to feel a little impatient.
“Mom, after the Elven festival ends, I want to open my own shop here.”
“Of course, do you need Mom to invest for you?”
“I already have a lot of money, what I need are some people.”
“There are some reliable stewards in Mom’s shop who can help you recruit some dwarves to work in the shop.”
“Thank you, Mom.”
Mo Dai touched her head and said softly,
“The purchase went very smoothly, we can leave early. On the way back, we can pass through the Kusska Forest, which will save some time.”
“A group of goblins live underground in the Kusska Forest. We can buy some fire moss and dark lotus from the goblins, as well as the rhizomes of carnivorous vines.
The alchemists of Grew City like those things very much. The High Priest helped us last time, so we should also send her some.”
Long Ling was very grateful for the High Priest’s help and suddenly thought that today was the date she had agreed with Loraine.
“Are we leaving now? I agreed with Crown Princess Loraine to send her the medicine today.”
Mo Dai couldn’t help but become alert:
“Crown Princess Loraine? She’s Violet’s cousin. Are you going to let her take the medicine for Violet?”
Long Ling nodded: “I met her here three days ago. She said she was on a mission in the Nihaya West Province and the mission hadn’t been completed yet.
She asked me to wait for her for three days, so I gave her our address. She said she would come here to find me today.”
Mo Dai immediately grabbed her daughter’s hand:
“Three days? Silly child, do you know how long it takes to travel from Violet’s manor to the city we are in now by carriage?”
Long Ling frowned slightly: “It wouldn’t also take three days, would it?”
Mo Dai tapped her little head: “Loraine and Violet are allies in politics. She will definitely reveal your message to Violet. Violet may already be on her way here.”
Long Ling squeezed her fingertips and shook her head at Mo Dai: “I don’t want to see her.”
Mo Dai patted her hand: “Mom will help you think of a way.”
Just as she finished speaking, a servant outside the manor came to announce that there was a lady named Loraine outside, looking for Miss Long Ling.
Mo Dai instructed: “Tell her that Miss Long Ling has urgent business to attend to and has already left with Madam Mo Dai.
Have someone ride a fast horse, take a shortcut from the back door, and have the cargo ship docked at the pier set sail now.”
Long Ling turned around and handed the box containing the magic potion to the servant: “Give this to Lady Loraine.”
The servant obeyed the instructions, held the treasure box with both hands, and immediately went outside the manor.
Violet came in a hurry, only bringing a few close attendants.
The carriage traveled non-stop for three days, covered in dust and without any rest.
She went to Loraine to get the address and immediately rushed to the Monsi Manor where Long Ling was currently staying.
Loraine had never seen Violet so nervous and concerned about a dragon before.
She was just waiting at the gate of the manor, her eyes constantly searching for Long Ling’s figure.
Loraine saw that Violet had lost a lot of weight, knowing that she was only being stubborn, and couldn’t help but worry,
“Long Ling promised me that she would wait for me here. Relax a little, would you like to eat something first? I told the maids around you that you haven’t eaten anything for three days while rushing here.”
Violet refused, “I don’t eat.”
Loraine sighed: “How can you not eat? If you don’t eat, you might faint before you catch her.”
She pushed the sweet bread forward, Fang, seemed to only want to see Long Ling.
Loraine instructed her to take good care of Her Grace the Duchess.
Ellena silently bowed and accepted.
Duchess Violet hadn’t had a proper meal for days, but a heart problem requires a heart medicine, and only Miss Long Ling could do that.
When the servant came out of the manor and only brought a brocade box, Violet’s eyes froze.
Loraine’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly asked, “Where’s Miss Long Ling?”
The servant respectfully said, “Miss Long Ling has urgent business to attend to and has already left with Madam Mo Dai. She asked me to give you this potion for treating leg injuries.”
Violet’s back straightened, and the veins on the back of her clenched hands were exposed:
“When did she leave?”
The servant said timidly, “She just left not long ago. The cargo ship docked at the port should have already set sail.”
Loraine immediately looked at Violet: “Should we go to the port and chase after them now?”
Violet’s gaze fell on her disabled legs.
If her legs and dragon tail weren’t injured, and she could fly faster with her dragon wings, she would have arrived here sooner.
She was only a little bit short of time to see her little dragon.
The greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.
Violet sat in her wheelchair and silently turned around.
Loraine took the brocade box handed over by the servant, caught up with Violet, and kept comforting her,
“Actually, you didn’t come here for nothing. This magic potion was specially made for you by Long Ling after asking the Elven High Priest.
It’s said to be specially for treating leg injuries. She must still be thinking of you in her heart, otherwise she wouldn’t have asked me to bring you the medicine.”
Violet’s wheelchair didn’t stop and moved even faster than before.
Loraine felt a little guilty in her heart. She should have made sure to keep Long Ling before sending a message to Violet, which caused Violet to make a wasted trip.
When Violet and Loraine arrived at the port, Mo Dai’s cargo ship had already set sail and was far away.
The servant reported this to Mo Dai.
Mo Dai raised her eyebrows: “The captain of that cargo ship has been with me for almost a hundred years. She already knows the route back to the Elf tribe very well.
I don’t have to worry about the goods not being delivered to the Elf tribe on time. So what if she’s a duchess? My daughter isn’t someone she can see whenever she wants.”
After hearing that Violet had come and gone, Long Ling felt a slight sense of relief in her heart, but also some loss.
Long Ling said to Mo Dai, “Let’s leave half a day later, after confirming that Violet’s guards are gone, before we go back.”
Mo Dai gave Long Ling an appreciative look and taught, “You have to be more careful in the future, don’t trust others so easily, and always leave yourself a way out.”
Long Ling nodded and took Mo Dai’s arm: “I know.”
After packing their luggage, they left the manor in Nihaya West Province and went to another port, boarding another ship.
The large ship sailed away from the port, the sea was vast and magnificent.
Long Ling stood on the deck, holding bread crumbs in her hand and feeding the seagulls for a while.
The Elven bread was very filling and sweet.
The seagulls hovered around her, unwilling to leave for a long time.
Although the time spent traveling for business was not very long, it was very exciting, allowing Long Ling to realize the vastness of this world.
She was no longer the small cook sitting in a well and looking at the sky.
There were still many places in this world worth exploring.
Seeing that her daughter looked more and more sunny and cheerful after coming out, Mo Dai walked over and brought the fruit salad she made to her daughter’s side.
“Eat something, don’t let the sea breeze blow for too long, what if you get a headache?”
Long Ling raised her lips in a playful smile: “Mom, my body is much better than before, I’m not afraid of these things now.”
Mo Dai picked up the fruit and fed it to her daughter’s mouth:
“There’s a kind of cold called Mom thinks you’re cold. I brought a cloak, so you can go out for some fresh air. Put it on in the cabin later.”
Long Ling was fed a bite of banana by Mo Dai, with cream salad, every bite was sweet.
Before she could finish one bite, she was fed the second bite, her mouth was bulging.
Seeing her daughter’s cute appearance, Mo Dai’s heart melted.
She picked up several more pieces and fed them all to her precious daughter.
The mother and daughter were enjoying themselves when the elven captain suddenly walked over and said,
“Madam Mo Dai, there is a large ship that has been following us, we can’t shake it off, what should we do?”
Mo Dai immediately frowned: “Did you see any family crests on that ship?”
The elven captain shook his head: “There are no special markings. We have warned that ship several times by flag signal, but they are still chasing us relentlessly.”
Long Ling and Mo Dai exchanged glances.
When they boarded the ship, they had disguised themselves and made sure that there were no people from Violet around before boarding the ship.
How could they still be chased? This was really strange.
Did Violet really have the ability to reach the heavens?
Mo Dai had never seen anyone so difficult to deal with.
Even when she was being hunted by the Queen, it wasn’t this troublesome!
“Send three small boats down and go in other directions, diverting their attention.
I don’t believe that a three-hundred-year-old dragon can guess so accurately every time.”
Long Ling knew that her mother and Violet were in a contest, and she didn’t know how to stop them for a while.
Perhaps they were evenly matched. From the Nihaya West Province to the entire sea area of the Kusska Forest, Ms. Mo Dai used all her skills, but Violet countered every move.
Mo Dai got off the ship with Long Ling, sat in the carriage, and said with a tired expression,
“How can she chase so hard? She deserves to be a dragon who has stayed in the army and been an officer.
Her reconnaissance awareness is so strong, she’s almost exhausted her mother.”
Long Ling massaged Mo Dai’s shoulders, hesitating to speak: “Or I’ll go and talk to her, and ask her not to chase anymore.”
Mo Dai immediately sat up straight and hugged her daughter: “No, what if she catches you back? I’ll think of other ways, I won’t let you be bullied again.”
Long Ling patted her mother’s back:
“It’s okay, her men have just been dispersed a lot, now our men are equal to her, it’s not like we don’t have the power to fight.
If I talk to her properly, she should go back.”
Mo Dai felt that what Long Ling said made some sense, but she was still worried: “Mom will be by your side.”
The carriage stopped before the entrance to the Kusska Forest.
Long Ling jumped out of the carriage and stood in place, waiting for Violet.
Sure enough, the carriage that was following her also stopped.
After seeing her, Violet immediately got off the carriage in her wheelchair.
Violet hadn’t seen Long Ling for more than a month.
For so many nights, she could only put Long Ling’s pillow by her side.
As the strawberry scent of her pheromones gradually faded, she gradually realized that Long Ling would not return to her side.
Seeing the person she had been missing for a long time, she turned the wheelchair and sped up to Long Ling’s side.
Long Ling found that Violet’s exquisite face had an undisguisable look of exhaustion, her dark curly hair hung down, and her figure looked much thinner than before.
Long Ling’s eyes were calm: “Why are you following me?”
Violet didn’t expect Long Ling to look at her with such strange eyes.
They had only been separated for a month, didn’t her little dragon have her in her heart anymore?
Violet’s heart seemed to be dripping blood, she quietly looked at Long Ling, and a few traces of sadness unconsciously appeared in her always proud eyes.
Long Ling was silent for two seconds: “Don’t follow me anymore, I’m going back to the Elf tribe, go back and take your medicine.”
Violet stared at her: “Aren’t you going back with me?”
Long Ling said softly: “We have dissolved the engagement, I’m not your fiancée, I won’t be with you, let’s not meet again in the future.”
Violet grabbed Long Ling’s hand: “I burned the agreement, it doesn’t count.”
Her hand was colder than before.
Long Ling subconsciously looked at Violet and found that her dark golden eyes were full of bloodshot, like cracks appearing in a cold iceberg.
While she was stunned, Violet had already held her hand and said softly,
“Come home with me, I still have your things, and the tavern is doing very well.”
Long Ling put her hand on Violet’s thin wrist, pulled her hand down, and said lightly:
“I won’t go back with you, I have my own home in the Elf tribe, go back, you will get lost if you enter the Misty Forest, go back and heal your injuries.”
