Exploiting System Loopholes

Chapter 89 • 1,273 words • 11 min read

In other words, the idea of flying directly across the border through the sky was vetoed by Philly.

Coupled with what Maimai said, if they wanted to leave the Theocracy’s territory, they would need to reach the eastern border first and then figure out another way.

If Maimai were uninjured, she could have used her witch ability to dash out at a speed invisible to the naked eye, but the price would have been a significant increase in the eastern border’s defenses afterward.

Fortunately, on the road from Noda Forest to the eastern border, the nearby cities were far apart.

As long as they avoided the cities and stuck to the wilderness, they could use the flying magic normally.

[Mission: Set off for Tukulu with Isa. Reward: One Magic Essence Circuit Compendium.]

After Su Ran and the three witches made the decision to head to Tukulu, the mission in the Witch Game changed once again.

After she had used all five magic potions, the system missions had gone silent, and while the side effects of the potions left Su Ran feeling a bit down for a while, she had to admire the system’s powerful functions.

After all, the potions it provided had healed her paralyzed legs and restored her superhuman talent.

It even made Su Ran secretly look forward to what kind of rewards the system missions would offer after she had used up the five potions.

‘A Magic Essence Circuit Compendium sounds like an encyclopedia on magic essence circuits, but I’ll need to get my hands on it to confirm the specific contents.’

The magic essence in Su Ran’s body had now reached thirty-five.

Soon, it would accumulate to one hundred, allowing her to begin constructing a magic essence circuit.

This reward from the system was like receiving a pillow just as she was getting sleepy.

The only thing Su Ran wasn’t entirely satisfied with about this reward was that, at their current pace, by the time Isa and the others reached Tukulu, the magic essence in her body might already exceed one hundred.

Reading the system mission’s description, Su Ran’s lovely willow-leaf brows furrowed in thought.

Noticing Su Ran had fallen silent, Isa asked with concern about her condition.

“What’s wrong, Your Highness? Are you not feeling well? Or… do you need to go pick flowers?”

As she said “pick flowers,” her cheeks flushed, and her voice subconsciously grew quieter.

“Do I need to escort you to the washroom in the house?”

She hadn’t forgotten that Su Ran was here in an incarnation, not her original orb of light, and would naturally have all the normal needs of a human body.

“Ah?”

Hearing this, Su Ran still didn’t understand the necessary connection between “picking flowers” and a washroom, and she stared back at Isa with a look of pure confusion.

However, Isa’s inquiry did cause a flash of inspiration to strike Su Ran.

“Isa, we’ll talk about other things later. There’s something more important to do right now.”

Saying this, she took Isa’s hand and led her out of the room.

“Philly, Maimai, you two come along as well!”

As she left the room, Su Ran also called for Philly and Maimai, who were still sitting inside, to join them at the cabin’s entrance.

Her hand was enveloped by a small, soft, and smooth one. Compared to the physical contact with the orb of light, this was undoubtedly a much greater shock for Isa.

Before they met, Isa’s impression of Her Highness Su Ran was mostly derived from dreams and her own imagination.

That image may have possessed a hazy beauty, but for Isa, it lacked reality.

But now, Her Highness Su Ran’s small hand was right before her, even taking the initiative to hold her own. For Isa, this was a completely different feeling.

The image of the Witch Lord from her dreams gradually became clear and distinct; the beautiful figure before her was illuminating her with its light.

“My lady, what are we doing now?”

Seeing Su Ran hastily pull Isa along while also calling for her and Maimai to come outside, Philly couldn’t help but ask if there was a special purpose to this.

“We are setting off for Tukulu now!” Su Ran replied after getting her bearings on Tukulu’s direction.

“!?”

‘Is she joking?’

Philly thought she had misheard, her heart trembling.

Never mind that it was already getting dark, the sky outside the window was pitch black, with only the faint twinkling of starlight, making it hard to even see the path.

The crucial point was that they had only just made the plan to go to Tukulu and had made no preparations whatsoever.

Were they really going to set out on the road just like this?

‘Even if Her Highness Su Ran’s ability can build a simple treehouse, it’s not a long-term solution.’

‘No, wait!’

Forcing herself to calm down, Philly thought of a very critical point.

Standing before her was a powerful witch. Surely, she must be capable of using a special means like a teleportation array to get them to Tukulu in the blink of an eye.

At this thought, Philly secretly glanced at the unsurprised and completely calm Isa.

‘Now that’s how someone who understands Her Highness the Witch Lord’s power should look. Isa must have already experienced the Lady Witch Lord’s teleportation magic.’

What Philly didn’t know was that the reason Isa could be so calm was because she had complete faith in whatever Su Ran said.

Even if Su Ran were to say the sun would rise in the north, Isa would only believe her words firmly and might even chime in with, “Her Highness is right.”

She wouldn’t raise any objections at all.

As for Maimai, her body hadn’t fully recovered yet. If they were to travel now, it would definitely slow them down.

Just as the three witches were eagerly admiring the fine view of Her Highness Su Ran’s back, which was not covered by her little dress, and anticipating what brilliant trick she would pull, Her Highness, who had just spoken, slowly turned around and explained with a smile, “Alright, it was just getting a bit stuffy in the room, so I came out to finish what we were talking about. Okay, let’s hurry back inside.”

Philly returned to the room in a state of utter confusion.

Only Isa walked back in with a pensive expression.

‘Her Highness’s actions must have a deeper meaning. When she was testing my meditation technique before, she also used this method of constantly inspiring my thoughts to let me reach the final conclusion on my own.’

‘So this time, for Her Highness to bring us all to the doorway, there must be her own considerations involved.’

‘Isa, oh Isa, you can’t just stop trying to think just because you can’t figure out Her Highness’s intentions.’

‘Doing so will only widen the gap between you and Her Highness Su Ran!’

Giving herself a pep talk, Isa continued to ponder the deeper meaning behind the Witch Lord’s actions.

Once the others had left, Su Ran looked at the Magic Essence Circuit Compendium lying in her inventory and smiled with satisfaction.

Luckily, this mission did not require them to actually arrive in Tukulu to be completed. Su Ran had successfully exploited a loophole in the system mission.

The most crucial part of this was Isa’s phrase, “pick flowers.”

Connecting her two sentences, Su Ran finally understood that the phrase’s meaning was not literal.

And that meant… the system’s missions might also have textual loopholes to exploit!
