Golden Legend!

Chapter 471,114 words10 min read

“Wait! That thing will—!”

“Huh?”

The next second, under Bai Luoxia’s speechless gaze, a body was twitching and rolling around on the ground.

‘What kind of sane person tests poison on themselves!’

Bai Luoxia was already preparing to collect Sui Ming’s body.

But just a second later, Sui Ming climbed up from the ground.

He then examined the pale blue stone as if nothing had happened.

“Interesting—”

‘Just how high is this guy’s curse resistance?’

Bai Luoxia couldn’t help but question the books she had read.

The texts clearly stated that the [Sea’s Poem] was a stone containing a deep-sea curse, with enough power to kill a [Gold Vein] rank Soul Invoker on the spot.

Even she herself might have to shed a layer of skin under such a powerful curse, yet the white-haired youth before her was completely fine.

“Interesting…” The smile on Bai Luoxia’s face grew wider.

The stranger Sui Ming’s abilities were, the more correct her guess became.

On the other hand, Sui Ming felt nothing at all, as if he had just choked on some water.

This was also within his expectations.

From the crow’s tone, he had been able to gather a few pieces of information.

His constitution was a complete insulator against curses and toxins.

After all, in this world, was there anything more corrosive or curse-laden than the Abyss?

Don’t be ridiculous.

An existence that could infect an entire world—how could anything compare to the Abyss?

A mere deep-sea curse was nothing but a tiny drop of water before it.

“A mere [Sea’s Poem] is nothing special.”

But then, a seemingly feasible idea sprouted in Sui Ming’s mind.

Looking at the blue crystal in his hand and recalling the dream from last night, the youth silently chanted in his heart.

‘[Miracle—Convergence]’

In an instant, something that should not belong to this world slowly appeared in Sui Ming’s hand.

An azure bullet.

Suddenly, just as the two were focused on the box, a stiff figure appeared at the entrance of the alley.

It looked no different from a human on the outside, but from its vacant expression, it was clear that the person before them was anything but normal.

“To think… they’d use such a vicious method…” Bai Luoxia said through gritted teeth.

“Even after losing their lives, they’re reduced to puppets to be toyed with?”

Unlike Bai Luoxia’s fury, Sui Ming’s expression was grave.

A pale blue bullet suddenly appeared between his fingers.

Without a hint of hesitation, the bullet shot out from his fingertips, heading straight into the manipulated person’s body.

But surprisingly, the bullet merely grazed the surface of the man’s skin, causing no substantial damage.

However, a second later, the puppet’s body collapsed to the ground, apparently taken down by the curse contained within the [Sea’s Poem].

“Surprisingly effective,” Sui Ming remarked, then stuffed the entire box into his ring.

“Let’s go. The looting continues.”

For some reason, Bai Luoxia sensed an unknown aura from Sui Ming.

It was an aura that could only be forged by climbing a mountain of corpses and wading through a sea of blood.

It was neither purely evil nor purely good.

In a moment Bai Luoxia did not see, the muscles on Sui Ming’s face had contorted into a ferocious grimace, his anger so palpable it seemed to materialize in the air.

‘You… just what do you think life is!’

As the two ventured deeper, the items in the loot boxes seemed to get stranger and stranger.

There were things that were highly explosive but also prone to self-injury, and useless stones that could only freeze the ground.

But in Sui Ming’s eyes, these were priceless treasures, as if they had all been custom-made for him.

“These things… are completely useless,” Bai Luoxia stated flatly.

She had no idea what Sui Ming was tinkering with.

She just followed him as he went around looting, even opening up ordinary boxes by the roadside just in case he might miss something.

Unconsciously, Sui Ming had already assembled nearly five bullets from these strange boxes.

Each one had a vastly different, and one might even say, peculiar, effect.

‘These things… who put them here? And why are they so… compatible?’

Just as Sui Ming was pondering this, Bai Luoxia suddenly pointed into the distance and said, “There seems to be a box over there.”

Sui Ming looked up, and his gaze was immediately captivated by the chest.

“Whoa, a golden legendary!”

‘I’ll be damned if there isn’t something good in there!’

That was Sui Ming’s first thought.

However, a group of zombie-like contestants stood stiffly around the box, seemingly drawn by its dazzling golden light.

“Is there a way to lure them away?” Sui Ming asked Bai Luoxia.

After all, his skills were almost entirely meant for one-on-one combat.

Even a conceptual ability like [Miracle—Convergence] consumed a lot of mana.

His reserves were only at the [Mortal Dust] level.

If not for Ral’s mana supplements, he wouldn’t have been able to sustain their “kill-stealing” operation on his own.

“Got it. Try not to kill them, right?” Bai Luoxia sighed.

An azure balance suddenly materialized in the young woman’s hand.

But the moment she touched it, the balance tilted, one side high and one low.

Clearly, she was being rejected.

“It seems… it’s still rejecting me?” the young woman sighed helplessly.

Then, several chains extended from the balance, soaring into the sky, as brilliant as shooting stars.

Even the pale sun could not obscure their dazzling light.

With a single lift of her hand, an aurora descended at her command and crashed into the earth.

Dust flew everywhere, and smoke obscured their vision.

“I thought… the plan was to try not to kill them?”

“That’s right. I didn’t kill anyone. I just temporarily paralyzed them.”

Sui Ming gazed at the field littered with countless bodies lying askew and couldn’t help but remark, “Looks more like permanent paralysis to me.”

But thankfully, regardless of the process, the two finally reached the chest.

Sui Ming carefully opened it, only to find a bizarrely shaped object lying inside.

Bai Luoxia, who had never seen such a thing, looked on in confusion.

Even with her vast knowledge, she had never encountered something so strange.

But Sui Ming, on the other hand, was so excited he was on the verge of tears.

“You know what this is?”

“Know it? Of course I know it! With this, the Abyss is nothing! Hahahahahaha!”

Sui Ming hugged the entire box and examined it closely in the sunlight, as if it were a peerless treasure.

“Just you wait. When the time comes, I’ll show you its power!”
