In this situation, negotiation was out of the question.
The only thing left to do was run.
“Bro-body! This place isn’t safe! Time to tighten the wind and make a run for it!”
Given Lofiel’s current state, if Su Mo fell into her hands, he figured it would be worse than death.
So even if escape was nearly impossible, he had to at least try.
Hearing Su Mo’s words, the body stuffed Lofiel’s panties into its pocket and assumed a running stance.
The next second, it dashed away at an absurd speed, vanishing before either of them could react—even Lofiel was caught off guard.
Su Mo was dumbfounded.
Staring at the disappearing body, he broke down and roared:
“What about me?! I haven’t left yet! You son of a—how could you just run off on your own?!”
The body’s insane move left Su Mo suffocating in despair, and his shouting snapped Lofiel out of her daze.
Blinking, she felt like a big black rat had just dashed past her.
Her cold gaze shifted back to Su Mo, and she began walking toward him.
“Don’t bother calling.
After I finish you, I’ll send that body to join you.
This time, you won’t escape alive.”
Lofiel stopped in front of Su Mo, pointing her thin sword at his head as golden light began gathering at the tip.
Su Mo stared helplessly, unable to move, silently chanting in his mind: Unlucky unlucky unlucky…
Even if he was technically already dead, no one ever said you couldn’t die twice.
Just as Su Mo faced life and death, the sound of running footsteps came from the distance—and his eyes lit up.
The body that had run away earlier was now racing back at full speed toward them.
Lofiel heard it too.
She shifted the sword away from Su Mo’s head and aimed it at the oncoming body—then a brilliant beam of light burst from the sword tip.
“Bro-body! Watch out!”
Su Mo couldn’t help shouting in panic.
But the body didn’t dodge.
Instead, just before impact, it slid into a perfect baseball-style slide, slipping under the beam and avoiding it entirely.
Using the momentum of the slide, the body shot forward and, before Lofiel could react, swung its hands upward and flipped her entire skirt.
“!”
The sudden move made Lofiel instinctively drop her sword as both hands flew to cover her exposed skirt.
Taking advantage of the opening, the body darted behind her to grab Su Mo.
“Bro-body! I knew you wouldn’t abandon me! Wait— that’s a rock, I’m over here!”
Su Mo’s face went from touched to horrified as he saw the body scooping up a boulder and preparing to run.
After tossing the rock aside, the body finally located Su Mo by his voice, picked him up, and without hesitation attached his head back onto his neck.
The moment his head reconnected, Su Mo felt he could control his body again—though clumsily.
So for now, the body continued running on its own, sprinting toward the cave’s exit.
“—Noah Brandt!!!”
Behind them, Lofiel’s furious, killing-intent-laden scream echoed, making Su Mo shiver involuntarily.
A wave of danger surged from behind, and his brain screamed a warning.
An attack was aimed at his head.
With no time to react, Su Mo yelled:
“Bro-body!”
The body understood instantly, raised its hands, and yanked Su Mo’s head upward, separating it just as a golden magic cannon blasted through the gap between head and body.
Having narrowly escaped death, Su Mo sighed in relief and said:
“Bro-body, turn me around so I’m facing backward—I’ll guide us out.”
The body obediently rotated his head 180 degrees and reattached it.
Now Su Mo had a clear view of the situation behind him.
Lofiel was radiating overwhelming magic power, sprinting after them at incredible speed.
Thankfully, the body was still faster.
She couldn’t catch up, so she bombarded them with magic bullets instead.
And because Lofiel had a massive mana reserve, she spammed those bullets like they were free.
At first, there was one.
Then five.
Then twenty.
Soon, Su Mo lost count.
From dodging at first, he’d reached the point where there was nowhere left to hide.
“Die!!!”
With that roar, Lofiel unleashed a torrent of magic bullets bright enough to light the entire cave—crashing down toward Su Mo like a storm.
This time, he and the body had nowhere to run.
The barrage pierced through them, tearing the body apart.
Then came an endless flood of magic, Lofiel’s wrath pouring out like an ocean with no shore.
Even the cave itself collapsed under her fury, reduced to rubble.
Who knew how long it lasted?
When Lofiel finally stopped, panting heavily, the place was a wasteland.
Her mana was still plentiful, but constant casting had left her exhausted.
“That should do it… right?”
She muttered between gasps.
After all, after taking that kind of attack, there was no way they could still be alive… right?
But reality loves slapping faces.
With a loud bang, a pile of stones shattered, and a familiar figure crawled out.
Lofiel’s expression froze in disbelief as she stared at Su Mo emerging from the rubble like a cockroach.
“You… even that couldn’t kill you? Since when were you so hard to kill?”
Dusting himself off, Su Mo rotated his head back to normal and looked at the breathless Lofiel with a smirk.
“Sis, already worn out? A little shooting and you’re tired?”
As an experienced lady, Lofiel instantly caught the innuendo and ground her teeth.
“You bastard…”
“Hey, hey, hey! If you’re weak, train more. If you can’t handle losing, don’t play.
You didn’t finish me off today, and I didn’t finish you either. Let’s call it a draw.
It’s getting late, so we’ll meet again if fate allows! Bye-bye now!”
Cutting her off with a wave, Su Mo turned and bolted without looking back.
He had no idea if the Mary Sue would suddenly go berserk—after all, that’s how these creatures work.
So after tossing a parting taunt, he made a clean getaway, vanishing from Lofiel’s sight.
