Her Birth

Chapter 41,272 words11 min read

Because he was afraid Lofiel might recover her strength halfway and catch up, Su Mo didn’t slow down for a second and sprinted out of the forest at full speed.

On the way, his head even fell off his body a few times because of the bumps, but luckily the body reacted fast and caught it each time before putting it back on.

After running for about thirty minutes past the edge of the forest, Su Mo finally saw his territory.

Calling it a territory was a bit of an exaggeration—it was just a three-story manor.

As a fallen noble, Su Mo was the only one left in his family.

Add to that his usual domineering attitude, and people didn’t think very highly of him.

But because Su Mo was the second princess’s childhood friend, no one dared to mess with him too much—thanks to her influence.

Even this manor had been a gift from the second princess.

Thinking of that, Su Mo felt his future looked pitch black.

This broke villain didn’t even have assets of his own and had to rely on his childhood sweetheart for support—what a kept man.

Su Mo had no idea what the second princess saw in him.

He was already so useless, and yet she chose to ignore everyone else’s opinions and kept taking care of him.

She was practically a saint.

But right now, it was a good thing she had that kind of personality.

Otherwise, after transmigrating, Su Mo might not even have a place to stay.

Sighing, Su Mo pushed open the outer door and walked into the manor.

Such a huge building, yet he lived there all alone—because he had no money to hire maids or stewards.

The only reason the manor wasn’t a total mess was that the second princess occasionally sent people to clean it.

So under the glow of moonlight at night, the manor felt more like a haunted house.

“What am I thinking? I’m already dead, why would I be scared of ghosts?”

He shook his head—and because the motion was too big, his head fell off again.

The body instinctively moved, caught it, and put it back on.

“I wonder if Feng Aotian will recover his strength and come kill me later…

Moving around like this is really inconvenient.”

The most important thing was, Su Mo felt incredibly sleepy.

Extremely sleepy.

He didn’t know why he could still feel tired even though he was technically dead, but he also couldn’t rule out the possibility that if he fell asleep now, he might never wake up again.

But the exhaustion in his body made his mind stop caring about these thoughts.

The higher his compatibility with the body, the stronger the fatigue from all that running.

By the time he got inside the manor, Su Mo was already dragging himself across the floor instead of walking—he couldn’t even lift his legs anymore.

Right now, all he could think about was sleep.

The body automatically moved according to memory, heading for a guest room on the first floor.

It slid slowly to the bed, and Su Mo felt darkness overtake his vision as he collapsed onto it.

At that moment, a voice sounded inside the room.

[Condition met. Applying patch to host.]

[Condition…]

The voice kept repeating the same line over and over again—countless times.

But the already-sleeping Su Mo couldn’t hear a thing, let alone notice the changes happening to his body.

A ray of sunlight streamed through the guest room’s window, landing on the bed.

Under the blanket, where Su Mo had somehow buried his entire body, came a soft hum in a voice that sounded suspiciously like a cute girl.

“Mmm…”

Su Mo, half-asleep, didn’t notice the change in his voice.

She poked her little head out from under the blanket and blinked sleepily at the unfamiliar surroundings.

It wasn’t the room she remembered—it was a strange one.

‘So it really wasn’t a dream…’

Slowly, Su Mo crawled out of the blanket.

Her head and body still weren’t fully in sync, so even this simple task took several minutes.

She plopped down on the bed in a duck-sitting posture and yawned uncontrollably.

Reaching up to scratch her head, she noticed something felt… off about the texture of her hair, but didn’t think much of it.

After a short rest, Su Mo climbed to the edge of the bed and placed a pair of white, delicate feet on the floor.

The icy chill shot up her body, making her shiver involuntarily.

Once she adapted, she stood up and trudged sleepily toward the bathroom she remembered.

Standing in front of the mirror, she squinted and yawned again—then felt an itch on her chest and absentmindedly reached to scratch it.

But as soon as her hand touched it, she felt something extremely soft under her palm.

‘Huh?’

Puzzled, Su Mo carefully felt the area and realized two big lumps had grown there at some point.

Still not realizing the severity of the situation, Su Mo only thought:

‘Wow… Are the mosquitoes in this world that hardcore? One bite and the bump is this big?’

After scratching the itchy spots, she washed her face and immediately felt more awake.

But then came a sudden urge to pee.

Sliding over to the toilet, Su Mo did what she always did—reach for her trusty little brother.

But no matter how much she searched, her hand didn’t find anything.

‘Huh?’

For the second time, Su Mo voiced her confusion and even said out loud:

“Come on, bro, don’t play around! Time to let the water flow! Show me if you’re dropping L-shots or S-shots today~”

She spoke as if she were negotiating with it—but no matter what she did, the companion she’d had for more than ten years seemed to have vanished.

It was only then that Su Mo finally sensed something was seriously wrong.

Her drowsiness disappeared instantly.

“From the start I thought my voice sounded weird—I figured it was a cold. But could it be—?!”

As if struck by a terrible realization, Su Mo yanked her pants forward with both hands—only to see her mighty cannon had been replaced by… a dam.

“WHAT THE HELL?! My siege cannon turned into a floodgate?!”

Letting go, the elastic waistband snapped back with a loud snap.

Panicking, Su Mo ran to the sink and looked into the mirror—

And the reflection staring back wasn’t her old, miserable self.

It was a girl she had never seen before.

Messy, silky pink hair framed a pure and beautiful face that still managed to look adorable despite its shocked expression.

A pair of sapphire-blue eyes, tinted faintly with pink, shone bright and clear.

And most importantly—those weren’t human ears.

They were more like the ears of a fairy—or an elf.

She was like a blooming flower, a princess from the fairy kingdom who had secretly wandered into the human world—a gift from heaven itself.

Just standing there, she radiated brilliance like daylight, sweeping away all shadows from the heart.

A dreamlike presence, as if the essence of everyone’s longing for beauty had taken shape.

She had descended silently, without stirring a ripple in the world.

Su Mo stared blankly at the girl in the mirror, and in a sweet yet magnetic voice, said:

“What kind of plot twist is this?!”
