The Unique Contract
“There isn’t…?”
I tilted my head, confused by the store clerk’s abrupt answer. Did she mean there wasn’t a similar plush toy to me, or was she implying she had nothing for me at all?
Her eyes, narrowed into threads behind round glasses, suddenly curved into a smile.
“Yes. Honestly, I didn’t know such exceptional fur existed in this world.”
“Exceptional… fur?”
That seemed a bit over the top. I instinctively reached up to touch my ear to confirm its feel.
But before I could—
Grab!
The clerk stretched out her hand and began kneading my ear. She inspected it from all angles, squishing and folding it as if she were examining a rare artifact.
‘What is this…?’
Hadn’t she hesitated earlier to touch my ear? Why was she suddenly handling it so freely?
As confusion bubbled inside me, the clerk suddenly proposed, “Manager, would you consider signing a contract with me?”
“A… contract?”
“Yes.”
“What kind of contract?”
Still bewildered, I could only stare at her. Her slightly opened eyes sparkled behind her glasses, betraying her excitement.
“It’s simple. You just need to regularly supply your fur to me.”
“…?”
I blinked in disbelief. Why on earth would anyone need my fur?
Sensing my confusion, she explained, “Manager, I’ve traveled the world in pursuit of creating the perfect plush toy.”
“Uh, okay…”
“And out of all the furs I’ve encountered, yours is the most flawless.”
“R-really?”
I wasn’t sure how to feel about this. Her words seemed genuine, though. Even compared to the plush toys I’d touched earlier, my fur did seem superior.
“Do you remember the most expensive plush toy you were looking at earlier?”
“Yes, the tiger one.”
That outrageously priced, one-billion-won tiger plush toy had caught my eye earlier, though I hadn’t dared to touch it.
“That toy was made from Silver Tiger fur.”
“Silver Tiger…?”
Wasn’t that a type of monster? Its fur alone was rumored to be worth tens of billions.
‘And they turned it into a plush toy?’
Suddenly, I realized the clerk wasn’t an ordinary employee. She was someone who had likely poured her soul into the craft of plush toy making.
“Manager, compared to Silver Tiger fur, your fur is superior—both in quality and rarity.”
“Uh… thank you?”
Her gaze became so intense that I instinctively took a step back.
“Plush toys are surprisingly popular among niche collectors, you know.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes. If I made a plush toy with your fur, it would easily fetch tens of millions of won, maybe even more.”
“T-tens of millions?”
That seemed a bit exaggerated, didn’t it?
“I guarantee it. Your fur outclasses even the rarest materials like Silver Tiger fur.”
“…Well…”
As unique as my fur might be, it was still human hair—wasn’t that a bit unsettling?
“If we auctioned off a plush toy made from your fur, collectors from all over the world would come running. This industry has a surprisingly dedicated fanbase.”
“Does it really?”
I wasn’t an expert, so I couldn’t dispute her claims.
“It’s natural to doubt me. I would, too,” she said, smiling softly.
“I’m sorry,” I apologized for questioning her sincerity.
The clerk didn’t seem offended. Instead, she stepped closer and made another proposal.
“How about this? Before committing to a contract, let’s start by making just one plush toy with your fur. What do you think?”
“I don’t know…”
Her enthusiasm was starting to feel suspicious, almost like I was about to be roped into a cult.
As the clerk held up a brush, realization dawned on me—if she was going to collect my fur, she’d have to brush my ears with that.
The thought made it nearly impossible for me to say no.
Still, I hesitated.
“And the plush toy we make will be yours for free,” she added.
“I’ll do it!” I blurted out without a second thought.
How could I refuse? A perfect gift for Raxy Bora, plus the satisfaction of my own curiosity—it was a win-win.
We moved to a small employee lounge tucked inside the plush toy store. I stared nervously at the long brush in her hands. The idea of it gliding through my ears made my heart pound and my face flush.
Just then—screech!
The door to the lounge swung open.
Jinhyang, Yoon Bora, and even Raxy Bora stepped inside.
“Raxy?”
Had they discovered my plan to prepare a birthday gift?
I glanced at Jinhyang, startled, but she shook her head slightly. It didn’t seem related to the gift.
“H-Harang!” Raxy panted, her face drenched in sweat. “I ran all the way here after reading your message begging for help!”
“Message…?”
Had she sprinted all this way? Seeing her disheveled state made me feel guilty.
As I was about to approach her and apologize—
“Miss Shin Ara, you said you needed Harang’s fur, right?”
Yoon Bora addressed the clerk by name, cutting through the tension.
“Yes,” Shin Ara replied with a nod.
“Would this suffice?”
From Yoon Bora’s arms, she pulled out a fist-sized clump of fur.
It was unmistakably mine.
‘When did she collect that?’
I stared at her in shock, but Shin Ara’s voice broke my thoughts.
“Hmm… no, that won’t be enough. I’d need to brush him for at least three days to get the amount I need.”
Three days?!
Feeling oddly pleased, I unconsciously wagged my tail.
Yoon Bora, noticing the movement, grabbed my tail to stop it.
“How about this—we’ll handle the brushing ourselves. Can you wait outside? Harang’s shy around strangers, so it’s easier for family to help.”
“That’s fine,” Shin Ara agreed without hesitation. “As long as I get the fur, I’m good.”
With a nod, she stepped out.
Yoon Bora sighed in relief, her shoulders visibly relaxing.
‘Why is she relieved?’
As I pondered the question, Yoon Bora turned to Jinhyang.
“What should we do about the tablet, unnie?”
“Take it away.”
Jinhyang’s voice was firm.
“Miss Shin Ara?” Yoon Bora called as she picked up my tablet and handed it to her.
“What’s this?”
“This is the official broadcast of Huntress Tower,” Raxy said, smiling mischievously.
‘Official broadcast?’
Since when had my stream been labeled that? My stream title was literally “123.”
Not fully understanding, I let it go—if Yoon Bora said so, it must be true.
“Wow, you’ve got a lot of viewers!” Shin Ara exclaimed, peeking at the screen.
“Yes, you could even promote your shop through it if you’d like,” Yoon Bora offered with a grin.
“Really? I’d love to!”
Giggling, Yoon Bora nudged Shin Ara out of the room. The door closed with a creak, and the lounge was quiet once more.
Jinhyang turned to me, her gaze sharp.
“Why did you make that deal without consulting us?”
“I-It’s for Raxy’s gift…”
Feeling unjustly scolded, I looked at her with pleading eyes.
Raxy, standing quietly nearby, chimed in.
“Unnie, that was too harsh.”
“Was it?” Jinhyang touched her lips, looking thoughtful.
“Yes. Harang didn’t know any better,” Raxy said, patting her thighs. “Come here, Harang. Lie down.”
I hesitated, glancing nervously at Jinhyang, then crawled onto Raxy’s lap.
She held the brush in her hand.
‘Brushing time?’
Excited anticipation made my tail wag again.
“Haa…”
Jinhyang let out a long sigh as she sat down beside me.
Curious about the object in her hand, I peeked—it was a brush.
“Huh?”
I blinked in confusion, but before I could say anything, Yoon Bora knelt on the other side, holding another brush in her hand.
Three brushes?
I could guess the purpose of two. The sisters must be planning to each take charge of one ear.
The mere thought sent shivers down my spine.
Having both ears brushed simultaneously—it would be a first for me.
But what about the third brush?
Puzzled, I tilted my head and looked at Jinhyang. That’s when she reached out and grabbed my tail.
“…!”
She was planning to brush my tail—the most sensitive part of my body.
“S-Sis, didn’t you say you don’t like brushing?” I stammered nervously.
“You brushed my hair this morning, didn’t you?” she replied casually.
“Ah…”
It seemed she was trying to repay the favor.
But my tail is… scary.
My ears and tail, all brushed at once—what could possibly happen?
As I mulled over the thought, Raxy began stroking one of my ears with her brush.
“…Ah.”
Her gentle touch melted away all my worries, replacing them with pure bliss.
With my eyes closed, I relished her brushing, when suddenly—swish—Yoon Bora began brushing the other ear.
“Hehe.”
Two brushes, working in perfect harmony.
But the happiness didn’t just double—it felt like it tripled, even quadrupled.
The overwhelming sensation of bliss was almost too much to bear, leaving me teetering between joy and unease.
“W-Wait.”
Maybe it was better to take things one at a time.
The flood of unfamiliar feelings threatened to overwhelm me.
Please, stop.
I mustered all my strength to reach out, trying to halt their movements. But just then—
Swish.
Jinhyang began brushing my tail with swift, confident strokes.
“…!”
The moment the sensation from my tail surged through my body, I froze as if I were a broken machine.
What is this?
Before I could make sense of what was happening, the three of them fell into rhythm.
“H-Haha…”
This was it—the pinnacle of brushing.
It was sheer euphoria, so intense it scrambled my thoughts. My hands flailed aimlessly, searching for something to hold onto.
I grabbed Yoon Bora’s hand, Jinhyang’s waist, and even Raxy’s face at one point.
I lightly smacked Jinhyang’s hand in a futile attempt to stop her brushing.
“Stay still,” Jinhyang said firmly, catching hold of my restless hands.
“Y-Yes, ma’am.”
Ears and tail.
Tail and ears.
In this moment, I had become a creature ruled by the sensations in my ears and tail.
