Night.
On a deserted path, a pink-haired girl who looked like a dream was sitting on a bench, smiling brightly as she played with small animals.
That girl was Edenia.
Because the animals were too enthusiastic, some even climbed right onto Su Mo’s face, accidentally knocking off the mask he was wearing.
And so, Edenia appeared again.
Unlike Su Mo, who couldn’t handle the animals’ overwhelming affection, Edenia quickly made them all obedient and calm.
Every animal sat quietly on the ground, gazing at Edenia, while she gently stroked a cat that was lying across her lap, a warm smile on her face.
“Ahh♪ You’re all so adorable~ To meet such lovely little friends in this strange world—it must be my lucky day♪”
Edenia’s words were completely sincere, even if Su Mo himself didn’t seem to care at all.
But being suddenly pulled away from a familiar place and thrown into a world full of strangers—such a jarring change was bound to make Su Mo feel a little lost.
Luckily, Su Mo was extremely adaptable—otherwise, anyone else in his situation would’ve been crushed under such an absurd start.
“Oh, that’s right! Since none of you have a place to stay… how about coming to my home instead?
With so many new friends, things will definitely be so much more fun from now on♪”
As if she had just come up with a brilliant idea, Edenia’s eyes lit up as she spoke, then looked toward the animals, seeking their approval.
And of course, the animals, who adored this pink-haired young lady, wouldn’t dream of refusing her request—they all responded to Edenia with cheerful calls.
“Wow♪ Thank you so much! To show my gratitude for your kindness, allow me to bestow Edenia’s blessing upon you♪”
Placing her hands together, Edenia’s face bloomed with a joyful smile.
As she spoke those words of blessing, an unseen pink aura spread from her to every animal present.
“Well then… let’s go home!”
She gently lifted the cat from her lap and placed it on the bench, then stood up and raised her hand toward the animals.
With light steps and an unknown melody humming from her lips, she walked forward along the silver path the moonlight had laid out for them.
Edenia led the animals behind her toward the direction of the estate.
……
“Young Master Noah… Young Master Noah, please wake up…”
Half-asleep, Su Mo faintly heard someone calling his name. Slowly, his tightly shut eyes opened—and the first thing he saw was a familiar maid uniform and a black-haired girl wearing red-rimmed glasses.
“Alia…?”
Su Mo mumbled instinctively, still half-dazed.
It felt like he had just woken up from a nightmare—a dream where he was chased endlessly by a walking protagonist cliché, only to barely escape and then get mobbed by a horde of wild beasts before finally blacking out.
“Yes, it’s me, Young Master Noah.”
Seeing that he was awake, Alia stepped back two paces and quietly stood by his bedside.
“What brings you here today?”
Propping himself up on his elbows, Su Mo sat up, stretched lazily, and looked at her with mild confusion.
“I came to deliver something for you, Young Master Noah. But… have you started keeping pets recently?”
At those words, Su Mo blinked in confusion and asked blankly,
“Huh? Since when did I start keeping pets?”
Alia explained patiently:
“When I arrived just now and pushed open the gates of the estate, I saw many animals wandering about in your courtyard.
They all looked very wary when they saw me—until I told them I knew you, Young Master, and was only here to deliver something. Only then did they allow me inside.
Even so, they still didn’t seem to trust me completely. So this little bird was apparently sent to keep an eye on me.”
As she finished speaking, a small pink bird flew out from behind Alia and landed quite naturally on top of Su Mo’s head, settling there as if it belonged.
Watching this scene, Alia still couldn’t shake off the shock in her heart.
Everything she had told Su Mo was true—but there was one thing she hadn’t mentioned aloud.
When she entered the estate earlier, she had a minor… disagreement with those animals. And the result had been utterly astonishing.
Every single one of those seemingly ordinary animals possessed terrifying strength.
Even though Alia herself was already a Sixth-Rank Greatsword Master, she was quickly overwhelmed and subdued by them.
Fortunately, she had harbored no hostility whatsoever—otherwise, those animals guarding the estate definitely wouldn’t have let her go so easily.
Only when the pink bird landed on Su Mo’s head did she finally snap out of her daze.
“So… that wasn’t a dream?”
Being hunted down by a protagonist wannabe and then drowned in a sea of fluffy animals—was all of that real?!
But if it was real, then how did he make it back here? And why couldn’t he remember?
And how the heck did all these animals end up in his home?!
As Su Mo sat there silently, Alia spoke again:
“Young Master Noah, tonight is the banquet hosted by Princess Alice. Surely you haven’t forgotten?”
The moment he heard that, Su Mo frantically shook his head to show he hadn’t.
“To make sure you have suitable attire for the occasion, Her Highness the Princess asked me to deliver this formal outfit to you.”
As she spoke, Alia gestured toward the neatly folded clothes that had somehow appeared at the head of his bed.
“I see… Please thank Her Highness for me. I’ll wear it to the banquet.”
Su Mo glanced at the outfit and smiled as he replied.
Alia gave a polite bow.
“Then, if there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave. I hope you enjoy your evening.”
With that, Alia turned and left the estate.
Su Mo looked at the outfit on the bed, then felt the weight on his head.
He raised a hand to touch his own face.
“As I thought…”
Now that he was fully awake and knew none of it was a dream, memories of last night came flooding back—when he was “attacked” by those animals, one of them had accidentally knocked off his mask.
He had turned back into Edenia… and then made a decision that didn’t feel like something he would normally do—bringing all those animals back with him without asking for his opinion!
Thinking about it now, Su Mo was speechless.
“I swear I was supposed to be a real man! So why do I completely lose control and act like that whenever I transform?!
Maybe I wanted to erase the memory on purpose because it’s so embarrassing?
And what’s with this mask being so easy to knock off?! Just a little touch from an animal and it falls?!
What if it happens while I’m talking to someone someday? What am I supposed to do—tell them I’m performing a live magic trick?!”
Su Mo could already picture the painfully awkward scene of suddenly turning into Edenia in the middle of a casual conversation.
【That won’t happen, Host. The mask won’t come off easily—unless it gets damaged.
One more thing: the Fool’s Mask only suppresses the aura of your other self, but after a certain period, you need to remove it to let it recover.
Otherwise, if it can’t withstand your power anymore, the mask will start to crack and eventually fall apart.】
Hearing the sudden voice echo in his mind, Su Mo froze for several seconds before blurting out in shock:
“You’re alive again?!”
