Chapter 24: Can’t resist copying money.

I woke up with a headache that felt like my head was about to explode.

My hair was a mess, and the blanket was wrapped tightly around my body.

Was this the reason I felt so stuffy?

I pushed the blanket aside and struggled to sit up, leaning against the bed.

…What happened yesterday?

Right, I went for a walk last night.

For some reason, I became depressed, had a drink, and…

I think I streamed, but I couldn’t remember the content of the broadcast.

At times like this, there was a simple solution.

I picked up my phone and logged into the community.

– 12 missed calls

<Jiyeon>

I thought something must have happened yesterday.

I saw the missed calls from this morning.

I couldn’t bring myself to call back after seeing the chilling texts asking me to contact them when I woke up, so I logged into the community.

First, I needed to figure out what happened.

<The victory’s early morning crew who watched the broadcast from start to finish—upvote> +11

<“I started the broadcast because I missed you” mp4> +23

<Why a swordsman must be a tier 1 agent eu (serious, long post)> +7

<Yesterday’s famous “Molly’s” scene clip collection> +10

After a few joint broadcasts with Sua, my story had started to take up half of the discussions in the “EOW” gallery.

They even called me the gallery owner, or “galju,” according to my manager, Rain.

Looking at the posts, it seemed like a lot had happened, though I didn’t remember any of it.

What’s “Molly” again?

I clicked on a post that seemed to be referring to me, titled “Molly’s clip collection.”

– “Attack is the best defense, right? So this time, I’ll take the first shot.”

– “The trailer was the answer. Now that I’ve gotten bigger, other cars don’t dare come near.”

– “Where are your eyes? How could you drive like that? Huh? Me? I’m a good driver, though.”

…I decided to stop watching.

I quickly skimmed through the clips and got a rough idea of what had happened yesterday.

I started to remember bits and pieces.

It’s been a while since I had a blackout like this.

How weak is my body that a single bottle of soju could cause me to blackout?

While I was thinking about the events of last night and feeling miserable, another post caught my attention.

<By the way, didn’t you create a YouTube channel?>

You must get 3-4 thousand viewers for live streams, and you’ve even appeared on Sua’s YouTube, so why not just post some properly edited videos? They’d get good views.

Loo: “Exactly, these wreckers are spreading everything around, but it doesn’t seem to be working despite all the reporting.”

ᄋᄋ: “Maybe they just don’t want to do YouTube? They’re already busy with streaming.”

ᄂᄋᄋ: “They’re not the type to stream every day, so I don’t get it.”

ᄋᄋ: “I wanted to become Molly’s editor, but they haven’t even replied to my email. Looks like they didn’t even read it.”

YouTube.

Right, there was YouTube.

For streamers, YouTube was practically a must.

Who wouldn’t do it when money can be made?

If I were to make a YouTube channel, I’d probably post gaming videos.

For people who couldn’t catch the live stream or just wanted to watch the highlights, YouTube would give them the content they wanted.

It would be an extension of the live broadcast, offering a lighter, less intense experience compared to the live stream.

Well, my broadcasts were already short, so it wasn’t like it was too heavy. But still.

YouTube is often called a pension, and it operates in a way where not doing it feels like a loss.

Just reading the posts, it’s clear that people can’t understand why I’m not doing YouTube.

The live stream viewership is growing, and I’ve already appeared on Sua’s YouTube, so the situation is ripe for attracting attention.

Sua’s YouTube… I think I’ve heard something like that before.

From our first meeting to the educational broadcast, they asked if it was okay to edit and upload the footage to YouTube.

I casually said sure, and I had buried it in my memory until now.

And what about the email?

They said they applied to be an editor via email?

How did they get my email?

Email… email…

Ah.

There are things that streamers must enter on the Switch.

Things like personal contact information and email, which the company uses to communicate with streamers.

Email, in particular, is often listed on the streamer’s personal feed beneath the broadcast screen.

It’s appropriate for official contact, like advertisements.

When I first started streaming, like most streamers, I left my personal email.

And now, I’m looking at it.

A Pandora’s box, as they say.

Interfering comments telling me how I should run my stream.

That’s actually the milder stuff.

Some emails even had people leaving their contact info, saying they wanted to meet me at least once.

The term “water buffalo,” which people often use?

It felt even more extreme than that.

I can’t understand why someone would want to meet a woman who only knows her hands and voice.

But beyond that, there were also malicious sexual harassment and outright criticism of me.

“Your hands are so white, they turn me on,”

“I pulled back a few steps just from your voice today,”

“You’re a filthy bitch, do you want to live like that?”

“Mosquito, straw…”

The variety was surprising.

Unlike the chats that my manager deletes right away, these emails remained in my inbox.

It slightly irked me.

The more attention I paid to it, the more it would go exactly as they wanted.

I tried to ignore them and quickly scanned through the other emails.

As mentioned in the community, there were a few emails about YouTube.

There were emails asking why I wasn’t doing YouTube,

An email reporting a wrecked channel that had been uploading my stream videos without permission,

And an application email from someone offering to be an editor.

The editor application included a video they seemed to have edited.

– “If you do it like this, you can catch everything, right?”

The voice in the video felt strangely awkward.

My voice and the flashy gameplay were edited in a way that didn’t seem too overwhelming.

It was an editing style I’d seen on many popular YouTube channels.

It almost felt like they were saying, “How does this streamer, Molly, have this kind of charm?”

It was clean, and the editing was full of effort.

This person seemed to be quite skilled.

Along with the video, they also listed their experience in the email, almost as if trying to sell themselves.

They mentioned having edited for other YouTube channels over the years and how those channels grew.

Some of the channels mentioned were ones I recognized, which surprised me.

This person applied to be my YouTube editor?

When I checked the sender’s information, I was shocked again.

Sender: Rain

My manager?

They even kindly included their Switch ID, proving they were a fan, and attached a screenshot with the date they subscribed.

It was the date of my first stream.

Underneath that, there was a detailed account of their thoughts when they first watched my stream.

It was a little overwhelming.

But on the other hand, it was interesting.

The person who is currently managing my stream applied to be an editor as well.

They were a person with a lot of talents.

However, there were others who had applied, too.

And they weren’t bad at all either.

It seemed like things were getting a bit complicated, which was annoying, but now that it had come to this, I figured I should at least leave an announcement.

Now that I realized there were quite a few people who wanted to be my editor, I couldn’t just randomly pick someone and make a follow-up report.

As I searched for a suitable place to post the announcement, I quickly realized that I didn’t have any platform to communicate with my viewers.

No matter how much people called me “Gallju,” I couldn’t post the editor recruitment announcement on the EO-War gallery.

Reluctantly, I decided the only option was to go live and make the announcement.

– Mollru: Morning stream

This time, it was really morning.

The sun had just risen, it was 8 AM.

I wondered if people would even join the stream at this time, but…

[Really morning stream ᄃ]

[What’s your daily routine like, teacher?]

[This much inconsistency is insane ᄋ]

“Good morning, everyone.”

I started the stream with a typical greeting.

<Molly’sStreamJustCan’tStop donated 1000 won!>

– Did you get home safely yesterday, teacher? ^^

Even the nickname was from a troublesome viewer.

I responded in a tone that made it clear I had no idea what they were talking about.

“Yesterday? What happened yesterday?”

[What?]

[Look at this bitch pretending not to know ᄏᄏ]

[She must be embarrassed]

[‘I turned on the stream because I missed you’]

[The memories we made yesterday…]

As I continued to act clueless, the viewers who had been mentioning yesterday’s events seemed to give up.

Seeing that this was the right moment, I brought up the editor recruitment post I had prepared.

It was just a brief message with key points jotted down in a note.

“I’m looking for a YouTube editor, and so far, two people have applied by email. Is there anyone here who wants to apply as well?”

[Me!]

[Yes, I applied~]

[Can’t resist being an editor ᄏᄏ] Mollru

[Me, me!]

[These idiots won’t do it, they’re just trolling]

[What’s in it for me if I become an editor?]

“An editor? Well, you’d share YouTube revenue with me, right?”

[Molly and I are sharing something ᅩᅮᅣ]

Viewers tend to over-interpret even the most trivial things I say.

“As for the revenue, it’s a sensitive issue, so we’d need to meet in person to discuss it. If anyone wants to apply, please send me an email.”

I’ll accept applications until tomorrow.

After leaving that message, I ended the stream.

The chat filled with messages full of hooks was quite impressive.

I had streamed yesterday and just went live now to make this announcement, so…

Now that the announcement was over, I could turn it off.

I buried myself back into the soft bed.
