Sean’s sleeve was tugged.
Beside him were two children, his grandson and granddaughter.
Normally, he didn’t keep them by his side, but today he had brought along these two children he was rather proud of to the meeting.
“Grandfather, the people around that old man, Entis, seem unfamiliar.”
The speaker was Mitt, Sean’s grandson.
He had a handsome face, his tone was calm, but his eyes kept darting toward the people around Collins.
“If you haven’t seen them, then so be it.
Anyway, haven’t we already investigated that old man Entis’s descendants thoroughly?
The strongest among them is just a third-rank mage at best.
See? That woman sitting next to the vice-dean.”
Sean glanced at his beautiful granddaughter, then shook his head slightly.
Her magical talent was a little stronger than her brother’s, and naturally, her personality was also more arrogant.
Looking down on others was normal for her.
But it was obvious: if Entis allowed a child to sit beside him, he must value that child greatly.
Would someone valued by a great mage truly be weak?
Sean could have used spiritual scanning and elemental perception to roughly gauge Collins’s strength.
Unfortunately, seated opposite Collins was a great mage whose mastery of magic was only slightly stronger than Sean’s.
With him there, Sean wasn’t foolish enough to extend his spiritual power outward.
Troublesome… just who is that child?
Using spiritual power, he sent out a coded message, relaying Collins’s appearance and details to his men outside the hall.
It was like projecting a sound-accompanied image inside the mind.
After receiving the information, his men immediately went off to investigate.
Sean felt slightly relieved and no longer looked at Collins.
Collins, sensing the provocative gaze, lifted his head.
He met the eyes of the young girl at Sean’s side, dressed in an almost flamboyant mage’s robe.
Without a doubt, Collins was struck by scorn and arrogance.
It was the expression of a city dweller looking at a country bumpkin—arrogance that came without reason, superiority without foundation.
Collins found it somewhat amusing.
“Is there really any need to act like this toward someone you’ve just met?”
If this so-called new great mage’s descendants were all like this, Collins felt there was really nothing to worry about.
What was frightening about people who lacked even the most basic upbringing and manners?
Entis stroked his beard.
“Heh, of course. After all, later on, you’ll be competing with them on the same stage.”
Collins immediately turned his head toward his grandfather.
Entis smiled with great elegance.
“Do you know? These two children are also direct inheritors of a legendary bloodline.
They have extraordinary talent, and with excellent teachers and education, their achievements at their age can already be considered outstanding.”
Entis’s unabashed praise made Collins shake his head.
Though he seemed calm, Collins had his own pride.
Hearing such praise stirred a trace of defiance in him.
“Unfortunately, they’ve made one great mistake.”
Entis exhaled slowly, his tone softening.
Curious, Collins asked, “They offended you?”
For a great mage, dealing with a couple of children would be trivial.
Though, admittedly, such behavior would seem rather petty.
Entis’s expression softened into one of kindness.
“No, one of them specializes in magical runes, and the other in magic arrays.”
Entis placed his hand gently on Collins’s head.
“Their expertise should never overlap with my grandson’s specialty.
Because compared to my grandson, they are unworthy.”
At that moment, Collins felt that, for such words, he could die for his grandfather.
A middle-aged mage in his thirties walked up to Sean.
He was one of Sean’s most trusted students—so trusted that Sean was unwilling to let him stray too far, even outside.
As usual, this man had quickly gathered the information Sean desired.
“The one sitting beside Great Mage Entis is called Collins.
By bloodline, this Collins is Entis’s grandson.”
Sean nodded.
“But when we were gathering information on Entis, we didn’t see any mention of this child.”
“His father separated from Entis’s sphere of influence twenty years ago.
Entis never shared his power with that estranged child.
So when I was compiling information, I didn’t find anything about Collins.
That was my oversight.”
Sean waved his hand.
“Enough, don’t dwell on useless details.
Is this child strong?”
“From the records, he is undoubtedly a genius.”
Two cold snorts rang out beside Sean.
Like Collins, his grandchildren were displeased at hearing praise directed at someone their own age.
Sean chuckled softly, secretly soothing the two children.
“Give me the full, detailed report on this child.”
