“Eek… even if you are the main body, you can’t just touch someone’s tail without saying anything!”
The pink furball’s body trembled violently, like a startled cat. She quickly wrapped her tail tightly in her arms, her round pink eyes filled with indignation as she glared at Lu Qiancha, her cheeks puffed out.
“Ahem… sorry, I’m sorry.”
Lu Qiancha awkwardly retracted her paw. She had thought that the heart demon, being a spiritual entity, wouldn’t have any physical sensations… which was why she had been so bold as to touch it.
“Hmph, you bad main body! What’s the use of apologizing?! You’ve already touched it!”
The heart demon pouted, glaring fiercely at Lu Qiancha like a bristling little kitten.
“Then what do you want me to do?”
Lu Qiancha was defeated by her righteous and shameless attitude, and rubbed her forehead in exasperation.
“I want to go out and play! I want to eat lots of delicious food!”
Hearing Lu Qiancha’s words, the heart demon’s pink eyes instantly lit up. She bounced on the spot excitedly, raising her small paws in declaration.
“This…”
Lu Qiancha hesitated for a moment as she looked at the little creature before her. She had heard of many cultivators being controlled, or even replaced, by their heart demons, leading to great slaughter…
But this one…
The little one had already pounced over, her two small hands hugging Lu Qiancha’s arm tightly. Her small pink head rubbed against her arm, and she let out a soft whimper like a cub begging for food, “Ngh… please let me go out and play… just for a little while… okay?”
That look, so pure and full of anticipation, could melt anyone’s heart…
‘Letting her out to play for a while… should be fine, right?’
The last line of defense in Lu Qiancha’s heart collapsed with a pop. Her heart softened, and she sighed in resignation, “Alright, I’ll lend you my body, but don’t cause any trouble.”
Lu Qiancha put on a stern face and held up a paw, trying her best to look imposing.
“Yay! The main body is the best!”
With a thump, she tackled Lu Qiancha’s divine soul to the ground. Her small head rubbed frantically against her neck and face.
“Hah… that tickles… stop! Stop rubbing! You’re getting saliva on my face!”
Lu Qiancha was both embarrassed and ticklish, trying to push away the overly energetic pink little wolf, but she was stunned to find—she couldn’t push her away?!
Lu Qiancha couldn’t help but wonder—does turning into a heart demon increase one’s strength?
“Oh!”
The heart demon immediately stopped obediently, scrambled to her feet, and stood properly to the side, though the tip of her pink tail couldn’t help but wag slightly.
“First, we need to give you a name. We can’t just keep calling you ‘Heart Demon’, can we?”
Lu Qiancha thought for a moment and said.
“My name is Lu Qiancha!”
The heart demon immediately raised a small paw, her tone proud, as if announcing an established fact.
“No… that’s my name.”
Lu Qiancha retorted expressionlessly.
“Wuuu~”
Hearing Lu Qiancha’s words, the ears on the pink furball’s head instantly drooped in grievance.
“Then what should we call you…”
Lu Qiancha furrowed her brow, deep in thought over a name. Time ticked by, and even the demonic sword, which had been watching from the side, began to emit an impatient hum.
“Tsk…” Can Xin really couldn’t take it anymore, her voice filled with an “I can’t bear to watch” annoyance. “So stupid! Just split your name. You’ll be Qianbao, and this pink one… will be Chacha. What’s with all the dilly-dallying!”
“Qianbao, Chacha? What kind of half-hearted names are those?!”
Lu Qiancha protested. The names reminded her of a commercial from her past life—Q-Bao.
“Qianbao? Chacha? The name Sister Demonic Sword came up with is nice.”
The heart demon, on the other hand, looked pleasantly surprised and clapped her hands repeatedly.
“See, your heart demon has much better taste than you.”
Can Xin let out a triumphant scoff that seemed to say, “You know a good thing when you see it.”
“…” Lu Qiancha couldn’t be bothered to argue with the demonic sword (mainly because she couldn’t win). She decided to skip the naming war and turned to Chacha, “Alright, Chacha… what do you need me to do?”
Chacha’s large pink eyes blinked, “Qianbao doesn’t need to do anything~ Just… relax!”
She opened her arms in a “hugging” gesture, her voice sweet and alluring.
Lu Qiancha nodded, allowed the consciousness of her divine soul avatar to return to her main body, and then slowly relaxed her mind and body.
A short while later, “Lu Qiancha” opened her eyes. The azure eyes that were once like a clear lake were now tinged with a dreamy cherry blossom pink.
Chacha blinked in surprise, as if possessing this precious body for the first time.
She looked down, carefully lifting a paw covered in soft blue fur, opening and closing it, feeling the real, warm sensation.
Her curious pink eyes scanned every object in the room—the edge of the bed, the table, the teacup… even a speck of dust in the corner seemed incredibly novel! She couldn’t help but reach out a fingertip, poking here and there, like a newborn wolf cub exploring the world for the first time.
Now, Chacha was in control of the body, and Lu Qiancha herself had become an “observer,” watching everything from a first-person perspective.
But unlike an ordinary observer, she could also feel everything the heart demon felt—sight, sound, touch, smell, everything. It was a 5D viewing experience.
Soon, Chacha walked out of the room and into the corridor of the wing.
“Smells so good!”
Chacha’s small nose twitched, and her round pink eyes instantly lit up. A scent, a mixture of pastries and caramel, had accurately captured her senses.
Following the captivating aroma, she tiptoed along the wooden corridor like a little puppy being pulled by an invisible string.
Looking left, sniffing right… finally, her steps halted at the door of the west wing.
The door was ajar. Chacha held her breath and peeked through the crack—in the warm light of the room, Gan Tang was sitting at a low, round table.
The table was laden with all sorts of exquisite pastries and snacks. Almond crisps, peach pies, red bean rolls… She was holding a piece of golden osmanthus cake, taking small, satisfied bites.
Because she was facing the door, Gan Tang quickly noticed the pair of pale pink eyes, sparkling with curiosity and longing, outside the door.
“Huh? Senior Brother?” Gan Tang was a little surprised. She swallowed the pastry in her mouth, tilted her head, and asked with a smile, “What are you peeking at from behind the door? If you want some, just come in! I have plenty of snacks here!”
“!”
Chacha’s whole body stiffened, her pink pupils instantly contracting. The panic of being discovered made her whip her head back with a swoosh, her back pressed tightly against the cold wall by the door.
“You… you’re afraid of my junior sister? Why?”
Lu Qiancha asked in surprise in her consciousness. She could clearly share Chacha’s racing heartbeat and tense muscles, like a frightened little animal.
“Wuu… because… because humans are all bad!” Chacha protested pitifully in her mind, her voice filled with a firm conviction. “Qianbao! We have to stay far away from them! They’re all big baddies! They’ll trick us! and hurt us!”
Before she could finish—the sunlight before her was suddenly blocked by a tall figure.
Chacha snapped her head up! It was the source of the sweet aroma from the room just now—that terrifying human!
“Awoo!”
Chacha instantly bristled, instinctively striking a battle pose: she raised both paws in a “fierce tiger pounce” stance, her ears pricked up alertly, and her large, fluffy blue tail swung nervously back and forth behind her, every hair standing on end. She tried her best to look super fierce.
Gan Tang was taken aback by this sudden display of cuteness. She resisted the urge to rush over and hug her, and asked, “Senior Brother… what’s wrong with you?”
“Ngh—! Don’t come any closer! If you come any closer… I’ll scratch you!”
Chacha bluffed, her voice trembling, her pink eyes filled with a “take one more step and I’ll cry” panic.
Seeing this, Lu Qiancha said helplessly to Chacha, “This is my junior sister. She’s not a bad person, don’t worry.”
“Not a bad person?”
Chacha’s tense paws relaxed slightly, the fear in her eyes fading a little, replaced by a tentative curiosity.
She looked at Gan Tang’s harmless face and cautiously shuffled forward two small steps.
“Hmm?”
Gan Tang blinked her pink eyes, seeming to understand her Senior Brother’s longing yet hesitant expression.
Her nimble fingers swiped across the Qiankun Pouch at her waist, and a string of crystal-clear, perfectly caramelized candied hawthorns appeared in her hand.
The orange-red hawthorn fruits were plump and round, the crisp, bright sugar coating reflecting an alluring golden light. The sweet, fruity honey scent instantly filled the air.
“Senior Brother, I saw you standing at the door for so long just now. You must be hungry. Here, I still have some food. Take it to fill your stomach.”
Gan Tang generously held out the candied hawthorns to Chacha and said.
The string of crystal-red fruits, coated in a shiny sugar shell, exuded a fatally alluring sweet aroma that accurately breached the last, weak defensive barrier in Chacha’s heart.
Her pink eyes darted rapidly between the candied hawthorns and Gan Tang’s smiling face… her inner defenses gradually crumbling.
Hesitantly yet longingly, Chacha slowly approached Gan Tang like a small animal testing for danger. First, she stuck out her small tongue and quickly licked the crystalline sugar coating—”Mmm, so sweet!”
A warm, sugary fragrance instantly melted on the tip of her tongue.
Then, without hesitation, she opened her mouth wide and bravely took a big “chomp,” biting off a whole plump, round hawthorn coated in crisp, sweet sugar.
“Mmm… sweet, so good!”
Chacha’s eyes instantly went wide. A sense of genuine happiness enveloped her, making her squint her eyes in delight. Her large blue tail wagged uncontrollably, and a satisfied purr, like a little kitten’s, rumbled in her throat.
“Hehe, it’s delicious, right? I had to run over two mountains just to buy this.”
Seeing her Senior Brother’s purely blissful expression, Gan Tang was filled with a sense of accomplishment, her eyes curving into crescents as she smiled.
