Karina told Lily that she had already distributed the invitations to the dragon kin.
In reality, Karina didn’t need to do it herself.
She did it because she wanted to show off Lily and her precious granddaughter in person.
As for the wedding preparations, guest reception, the menu, and all the little details, Karina entrusted the dragon-kin servants from her ancestral home to handle everything.
These servants were either dragons or dragon relatives.
If they revealed their true forms, each would tower several stories high.
Fortunately, they were all skilled in transformation magic.
Dragons that couldn’t take human form were simply left behind.
“I came here this time to take you both to Grandma Monet.”
“Grandma Monet? The fortune-telling lady you mentioned before?”
“Yes. Grandma Monet can see the bond between two people, predict the future, and find ways to avert danger.”
Lily glanced at Letia with mixed feelings.
Letia wore a troubled expression as well.
Grandma Monet might see through their fake affection.
Karina’s anger would be the least of their worries — it could even affect their daughter’s happiness.
Most importantly, if Karina interfered, they wouldn’t be able to enact their little games of revenge on each other.
Letia needed to tease Lily to ease her frustration, and Lily wanted to get back at Letia.
They read each other’s expressions and reluctantly averted their gazes.
Karina assumed the couple was exchanging glances, and smiled with relief.
“Don’t worry, Grandma Monet is very kind,” Karina reassured them.
“If two people truly love each other, even if the match isn’t perfect, she won’t force them apart.”
Two people in love?
That doesn’t apply to them.
The condition isn’t met.
“Um… can we skip it?”
“No,” Karina said firmly.
“This is a dragon-kin custom.”
“Alright…” Lily gave up.
“How do we get there? Are you going to carry me, Letia?”
“For long distances, that position would be exhausting.
Don’t worry. I can summon a mount for you. You won’t feel fatigued along the way.”
“Eh, a mount?” Lily tilted her head in confusion.
Karina arrived at the park and closed her eyes to gather magic.
A white magic circle appeared on the ground, radiating dazzling light.
Particles of light swirled together as a fierce wind blew.
Lily shielded her face with her arms, half-opening her eyes to watch.
The particles converged, and a griffon suddenly appeared before them.
“Wow!” Lily cried in surprise.
“Amazing!” Amy exclaimed.
The griffon was about three meters long, tall and imposing, radiating strength and majesty.
It flapped its wings and stomped the ground, causing a slight tremor.
Karina petted its head.
The griffon bowed obediently, recognizing its role and status.
“Letia, Lily, you’ll ride this griffon.”
“Eh?” Lily blushed.
“Do I have to sit with Letia?”
“No need to be shy. You already have a child; what’s there to be embarrassed about?”
“…I see…” Lily whispered.
Lily glanced at the griffon’s back and couldn’t help but recall holding onto Letia on a small motorbike, pressing her cheek against her back.
It was embarrassing.
Being forced into such closeness, as if playing a couple’s ride…
Ridiculous! I won’t let Letia have her way!
While Lily was flustered, Karina signaled Letia.
Letia reluctantly stepped forward and, before Lily could react, lifted her into her arms.
“What are you doing! Hugging me in front of Mother!”
Letia didn’t answer, her face set and radiating a hint of resentment.
Lily found it funny — she was clearly unwilling, yet still holding her.
Lily straddled the griffon, feeling a bit awkward but refusing to be thrown off.
Letia sat behind her, gently holding Lily’s waist.
Lily shivered and looked back with tearful eyes.
“Why are you sitting behind me?”
“It’s normal to sit behind. Do you want to sit behind?”
“Eh? It’s normal for you to sit behind?”
Lily looked at Karina.
Karina summoned another griffon for Amy and sat behind her, arms wrapped to protect her.
Indeed, riding behind Letia was dangerous; you could easily be thrown off.
Being in Letia’s arms felt safer, though still anxiety-inducing.
“Don’t attack me!” Lily pouted.
“That’s not allowed.”
“Eh? You still want to mess with me?”
“Grandma Monet’s divination is top-notch.”
“What does that have to do with you teasing me?”
“Everything,” Letia said seriously.
“Ordinary acting can’t fool Grandma Monet. To ensure our daughter’s happiness, we need a flawless plan.”
“A flawless plan…”
“Lily, I want you to fall for me while riding the griffon.”
“Huh? Impossible, stop joking!”
“I’ll guide you until your mind and heart are colored by me.”
“Stop saying it like that…”
“Don’t move, or the griffon might throw you off,” Letia whispered near Lily’s ear.
“You must stay still and feel my guidance.”
“Wh-why!…” Lily protested tearfully.
“Because I want you to fall for me, even temporarily.
Once your mind and heart are mine, we can deceive Grandma Monet’s divination.”
“N-no one will become yours…”
“What are you two whispering about?”
Lily shivered, tearful, looking at Karina.
She didn’t want to be guided like this in midair.
Although she wasn’t afraid of heights, she dared not move, giving Letia full control.
Better to switch to the mount, beg Karina to carry her, and avoid Letia’s teasing.
“Mother… I want to—uhhh!”
Letia clamped Lily’s mouth and gently held her waist.
Lily squirmed, blushing furiously.
Karina was stunned at their bold closeness.
“Mother,” Letia said theatrically,
“Lily is just afraid of heights. Don’t worry, I’ll calm her so she forgets the trip’s discomfort.”
“Waaaah!” Lily shook her head, trying to protest, but Karina saw their closeness and smiled.
“You two are very affectionate, that’s the best thing.”
Karina swung the reins, and the griffon flapped its wings to take off.
“I’ll lead, you follow,” Karina instructed.
“Okay, Mother.”
“Hold tight, granddaughter.”
“Yes, Grandma Karina!”
The griffon slowly rose into the air.
Letia held the reins lightly, helping the griffon stabilize.
Lily clutched Letia, wary of falling.
And so, the griffon took flight, soaring into the distance.
