“I’m sorry, we refuse to provide any service. Please leave.”

In the pristine white lobby of the clinic, the nurse at the reception desk said without looking up, her fingers flying across the keyboard, not slowing down even slightly despite the unwelcome visitors.

“Listen,” Kim Erise said, handing the unconscious girl to her companion.

She shook her head and slammed a hand on the desk, deliberately controlling her strength, but still causing several tiny cracks to appear.

“We haven’t said or done anything yet, and you’re so eager to kick us out.

Doesn’t seem to fit the hospital’s duty to heal the wounded and rescue the dying, does it?”

“May I ask if you can read?”

The nurse asked in an icy tone, barely pausing after the desk and computer jumped from the vibration before resuming her typing.

“Heh, nonsense,” The girl, sensing the provocation, scoffed and popped another lollipop into her mouth.

“Although I didn’t finish middle school due to the outbreak of war, I graduated from elementary school with all As. I wouldn’t be so ignorant as to be illiterate, right?”

“Unfortunately, in my opinion, you haven’t understood the meaning of that very conspicuous sign over there,” The nurse finally stopped typing, pushed up her black-rimmed glasses, and said slowly,

“If you’re illiterate to the point that you need me to read it aloud for you, then I’ll make an exception and serve you once.”

Erise lazily glanced at the sign that read ‘Magical Girls and Pets not admitted’, and only then did she notice that the originally noisy lobby had fallen silent.

Everyone, regardless of gender, age, or whether they were sick or not, was staring at them, occasionally whispering to each other.

A bunch of buzzing mosquitoes, how annoying.

“Please leave immediately.”

Several fully armed security guards had surrounded the girls.

The tall black man at the head of the group commanded in an imposing voice through his gas mask.

“Can’t you at least let us state the purpose of our visit?”

The red-haired girl crossed her arms, narrowed her eyes, and met the gaze of the armed men who were three or four heads taller than her, showing no signs of intimidation.

“No, please cooperate with our work to avoid unnecessary conflict and injur…”

A roar interrupted the black captain’s words.

“You monsters, demons, inhumane beasts!” A young man stood up from his seat, pointing at them furiously.

“If it weren’t for you, Xiao Xuan wouldn’t have, she wouldn’t have died so tragically!

How dare you come here seeking medical help!”

“Executioners!”

“Aliens!”

“Scum of humanity!”

“Get out!”

“This place doesn’t welcome you heretics!”

Like a stone stirring up a thousand waves, the young man’s lead ignited the entire lobby.

The crowd surged forward with passionate anger.

Even people from outside the hospital were attracted by the noise and joined in.

The security guards, who were originally supposed to expel the magical girls, had now switched roles, becoming a human wall desperately trying to stop the fanatical crowd from approaching.

“At least these guys are braver than those demonstrators from before,” Kim Erise leaned against the front desk, unperturbed by the chaos, and chatted casually with her companion.

“But I bet you, they’re only so fearless because those security guards are here.”

“A string of candied hawthorns.”

Mo had been silently holding the unconscious girl from beginning to end, letting the blood seeping from her wounds stain her Gothic Lolita dress.

“Let’s go, we’ll find another hospital.

It wouldn’t be worth it if causing a scene here led to a new round of large-scale conflict and confrontation, or even violated the peace treaty and triggered a second all-out war.”

“That won’t do. This is the best hospital within the UN territory,” The red-haired girl took out a stack of bills from her pocket and tossed them to the nurse, who was still sitting behind the computer as still as Mount Tai.

Then, she leaned close to the nurse’s face and said,

“We’re here for a simple reason: to get this little girl treated, to clear up the wounds and dirt on her – look closely, she’s a human, not a magical girl.”

“Please do not insult our dignity.” The nurse’s glasses reflected a cold and piercing light, pushing the money back untouched.

“This has nothing to do with money, no amount of money will work – we will never compromise with you beasts who invade our homes, slaughter our loved ones, and destroy our future!”

Sigh, just trying to see a doctor, and it can turn into this. I’m truly impressed by humanity’s thought processes.

thwack

A stone, appearing from who knows where, hit Kim Erise squarely on the top of her head.

Did a mosquito bite me?

She touched her head, not reacting at first, until she saw several more stones flying towards her and suddenly realized what was happening.

Tch, bullets can’t do anything to me, and you’re trying to cause trouble with a few stones – ho, there are steel pipes, glass shards, plastic bottles, and even rotten eggs and vegetables.

It seems the city folks have better food than those small-town people from before.

But this should just be them venting their anger, the so-called impotent rage?

“Let me in! Why are you stopping us!”

The young man at the head of the group was now frantically charging at the human wall formed by the security guards. His eyes were bloodshot as he roared furiously like a rabid beast.

“You’re human, right? You’re all people with consciences, right? Then why are you protecting those monsters?

Shouldn’t your guns be aimed at them? Take my advice, if you’re still human, let us in and let us beat those inhuman bitches to death!”

“We’re protecting you by not letting you in!” The black captain was also helpless, rebuking sternly.

“They can cripple everyone here with a single finger, understand? Just let them abide by the peace treaty and leave.

If you escalate things any further, no one will have a good time!”

“Then let them come! I don’t want to live anyway.

If they have the guts, let them beat me to death, so I can go keep Xiao Xuan company!”

Hmm?

Kim Erise, already tired of this farce, stretched lazily and decided to force her way into the hospital to talk to a doctor face-to-face when she was suddenly poked by her companion, signaling her to help hold the girl.

What’s wrong, is there some situa…

Before she could voice her doubts, the red-haired girl, who had just taken the girl, watched as Mo transformed into a silver whirlwind, smashing open the security guards and the crowd in front of her, splitting the dense mass of people in two like a knife cutting through tofu.

Then, the silver-haired girl, who had rushed to the center of the crowd, stopped abruptly in front of a burly man with a beard.

A textbook-perfect shoulder throw sent the unsuspecting man crashing to the ground, before she stomped on his left arm, crushing it, and then twisted his right arm off with one hand.

The whole process was seamless, taking less than three seconds from the start of the charge to the end.

The people who had been hit by Mo’s charge all flew up and crashed heavily backwards, affecting a large number of people who were knocked to the ground, dizzy.

Some unlucky individuals even lost a few teeth, just because they happened to be in the path of the charge.

Many of the remaining people screamed and retreated or even started running, while some, with bloodshot eyes, grabbed sticks they had picked up from who knows where and surrounded her, shouting and wanting to fight to the death.

The security guards, who had been desperately trying to stop the crowd, also raised their guns in a flash after their initial daze, aiming them all at the suddenly aggressive girl.

However, when Mo then tore open the burly man’s coat, the boiling crowd instantly fell silent.

The man was strapped with a massive amount of high explosives.
