“Awoo~”
Feiluo opened her eyes, rubbing away the dryness. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating her drowsy face.
‘It feels like I’ve slept for ages, and I had such a long dream… Wait!’
A flood of memories surged into Feiluo’s mind, each scene strikingly clear. Defeat, being turned into an egg, becoming the Demonic Empress’s disciple, even flirting with the Demonic Empress…
Feiluo pressed her lips together, gritting her teeth, her cheeks flushing crimson as she cried out:
“That damned Demonic Empress!!!”
“She actually turned me into this, made me call her Master, and even forced me to act cute and flirtatious with her!!!”
“How utterly detestable!!!”
Leaping straight from the bed, she didn’t bother changing her clothes or putting on slippers. Her small, jade-like feet, bare and cool, pounded against the cold floor with a rhythmic “thump-thump-thump” as she charged towards the kitchen.
Upon reaching the kitchen, Feiluo found Moxi, apron-clad, preparing breakfast. Her appearance, that of a virtuous wife and loving mother, would undoubtedly mislead anyone unfamiliar with her true identity. No one would ever imagine that this seemingly gentle, benevolent maiden, akin to a newlywed wife, was in fact the wicked Demonic Empress, long sought after by the righteous path.
“Hateful Demonic Empress!” Feiluo bellowed, pointing at Moxi, who had turned at the sound. “You dared to transform me, the esteemed chief disciple of the Holy Land, into this state!”
“Now change me back!”
“Change back? My dear disciple, what are you talking about? Isn’t this your original appearance? How could you change back?” Moxi tilted her head, asking innocently.
“Demonic Empress! Stop pretending! Your tricks no longer work on me! I’ve remembered everything!” Feiluo clenched her fists, her eyes blazing with indignation.
“Pretending? I’m not pretending at all,” Moxi stated with an innocent expression. “This truly is your original appearance, my dear disciple…”
“Are you saying that I, a living, breathing man! A big, living man! My original appearance is actually a cute red-haired, golden-eyed loli?!” Feiluo cut Moxi off before she could finish. “Are you stupid?! Or do you think I’m stupid?!”
She roared, her face contorted with the furious expression of ‘You actually take me for a fool.’
“But I really am not lying to you, my dear disciple, this truly is your original appea—”
“Enough! Since you refuse to drink the toast, then you shall taste the might of my punitive drink!” Feiluo interrupted Moxi once more.
“Take this flying kick!” Feiluo leaped into the air, her left leg tucked, her right leg extended straight, launching an aerial flying kick directly at Moxi.
The flying kick was swift, and the distance between Feiluo and Moxi was not great; Feiluo was confident her kick would connect.
However, Moxi merely chuckled softly, deftly sidestepping Feiluo’s attack.
“Wh—” Just as Feiluo was about to let out a cry of surprise, she slammed into the wall, her target having vanished.
“Thud!”
It was the sound of a head colliding with a wall, remarkably crisp, clearly indicating a good, solid skull.
“Ow-woo~ That hurts!” Feiluo clutched the swollen bump on her forehead, crying out in pain. Her expression was a mix of pain, sorrow, and indignation, with glistening tears welling in the corners of her eyes.
Seeing Feiluo’s miserable state, Moxi sighed helplessly. She approached her disobedient disciple, placing her fair, jade-like right hand on the swollen spot on Feiluo’s forehead. The next moment, a verdant glow emanated from her palm, and the swelling on Feiluo’s forehead began to recede at a visible pace. Soon, the swollen bump vanished completely.
“My dear disciple, next time, please don’t play like this indoors. Although I can heal you, the pain before the healing won’t disappear.” Moxi gently stroked Feiluo’s small head, admonishing her.
“Understood, Mas— No!” Feiluo instinctively leaned into Moxi’s touch, rubbing against her palm, before immediately realizing how much her actions resembled a foolish loli being lectured by a parent after misbehaving.
She quickly pulled away from Moxi’s hand, pointing at Moxi, intending to say something menacingly, but Moxi preempted her. “My dear disciple, I believe I’ve taught you before that it’s very impolite to point at people with your finger.”
“Oh… oh.” Feiluo let out an “oh,” her imposing aura involuntarily weakening a few degrees. She retracted the arm pointing at Moxi, attempting to reclaim her previous momentum, but found it utterly impossible.
Feiluo shook her head, dismissing the issue of her aura.
“Don’t think you’ve won just like this! I will return for my revenge! The next time we meet, it will be the moment our true strengths are revealed in battle!” she shouted at Moxi, her voice carrying a hint of lacking conviction.
After shouting, Feiluo charged towards the door, seemingly intent on fleeing the cave dwelling, leaving the Blazing Spirit Sect, and preparing for secluded cultivation to exact her revenge on Moxi.
“Wait a moment!” Moxi called out to Feiluo.
Feiluo turned her head, huffing proudly. “What is it? Trying to make me stay is useless, you know!”
“But breakfast is already ready,” Moxi said, pointing to the steaming, fragrant dishes. “My dear disciple, aren’t you hungry? Why don’t you eat first, or else you’ll go hungry.”
“……Hmph, it’s just breakfast. I don’t need to eat it.” Catching the alluring aroma, Feiluo hesitated for a moment. Then, recalling her identity and her ‘deep-seated hatred’ for the Demonic Empress, she reaffirmed her rock-solid resolve.
Feiluo resumed her charge towards the door.
But before she could take more than a few steps, Moxi’s clear, cool voice reached her ears once more.
“This morning, we have yam and purple sweet potato cake~”
Her footsteps slowed slightly, and a few cracks appeared in her rock-like heart.
“And osmanthus lotus seed soup…”
Her pace faltered for a moment, the cracks steadily widening, and the rock crumbled away.
“Not only that, but there’s also your favorite jade lotus almond shortbread, my dear disciple!”
Her feet halted completely, the rock utterly collapsing, revealing the true heart it had encased.
Feiluo turned around, her gaze wandering, and said with a stiff tone, “Since you’re so eager for me to stay and eat, then I shall, out of my boundless mercy, remain!”
After speaking, she added, “Don’t misunderstand, I’m only staying because I’m afraid you’ll cry if I leave, not for any yam and purple sweet potato cake, osmanthus lotus seed soup, or jade lotus almond shortbread!”
“Yes, yes, yes, my dear disciple is staying because she’s afraid I’ll cry, and certainly not for those delicious treats.” Seeing Feiluo’s tsundere demeanor, Moxi chuckled softly, playing along with her words.
“Hmph! Good that you know!” Feiluo crossed her arms over her chest, letting out a soft humph.
“So, my dear disciple, will you still leave after you’ve eaten?” Moxi inquired.
“Of course!” Feiluo’s tone was exceptionally firm.
After a delightful breakfast.
Feiluo patted her little belly, now bulging as if she were three months pregnant, and slumped back into her chair with a look of utter satisfaction.
She decided that leaving for secluded cultivation could wait.
‘Secluded cultivation for revenge is indeed a bit unrealistic.’
‘It’s better to lie low by the Demonic Empress’s side for now, biding my time for an opportunity.’
‘After all, a grand matter like revenge requires thorough planning.’
‘It’s definitely not for the delicious food!’
‘Absolutely not!’
Feiluo picked up a piece of the unfinished jade lotus almond shortbread, placing it in her mouth to savor it.
“Mmm~ So delicious!”
