The University Gates and a Familiar Face

Luo Xuan paused, a slight frown creasing her brow.

“Bai Jingjing, what’s wrong?”

‘She didn’t even have a remote control in her hand… no, wait, there wasn’t anything strange like that in their home to begin with.’

“Nothing at all,” Bai Jingjing replied, taking a deep breath that gradually calmed the tumultuous rise and fall of her chest (TL Note: ‘Tuantuan’ or ‘团团’ is a playful, onomatopoeic term often used in web novels to refer to a female character’s breasts, emphasizing their roundness and movement).

“I’m just a little excited.”

Ever since she had taken a leave of absence from school several years prior, the thought of returning had frequently crossed her mind.

However, as she grew older, by the time she reached eighteen or nineteen, going back to study in the first year of high school felt increasingly inappropriate.

During her time at the hospital, she had also self-studied academic subjects, knowing that art students weren’t held to particularly high standards for their academic scores.

Consequently, she believed she hadn’t fallen too far behind compared to others.

The only obstacle remaining was the tuition fee for enrollment.

Bai Jingjing had initially anticipated waiting another two years before she could enroll, but unexpectedly, due to a series of peculiar events, her admission was now only months away.

Her small white sneakers now trod upon the clean flagstones at the university’s main entrance.

The air was fragrant with the scent of early summer’s new blossoms, mingled with a faint aroma of coconut milk.

‘Oh, wait, the coconut milk scent was from her, not the school.’

“Ah, is it really that exciting?” Luo Xuan murmured, discreetly shifting her gaze away from Bai Jingjing’s chest (TL Note: ‘Tuantuan’ or ‘团团’ is a playful, onomatopoeic term often used in web novels to refer to a female character’s breasts, emphasizing their roundness and movement).

“You’ll be coming here for school in the summer anyway, won’t you?”

It was the first time she had truly understood the meaning of “spinning around in excitement.”

Bai Jingjing gently shook her head, offering no explanation.

Had it not been for that initial ‘at-all’ message, and Luo Xuan’s comment in the group chat, she certainly wouldn’t have made a wish, and thus wouldn’t have transformed into a girl.

‘Sister Luo, she truly is a good person.’

Bai Jingjing’s gaze towards her held a mixture of gratitude and a hint of subtle shame.

‘In comparison, Sister Luo merely wanted to touch… ah, no, just glance at my legs, yet I wouldn’t even let her look. This truly is…’

‘The difference between us is immediately apparent.’

Luo Xuan noticed the peculiar hint of shame in Bai Jingjing’s eyes and felt a little bewildered.

“Did something happen?”

Hesitating for a moment, Bai Jingjing leaned in slightly and whispered, “If we weren’t in a car, I definitely would have let you see.”

“…?” Luo Xuan’s eyelid twitched involuntarily.

‘Stop scolding me, stop scolding me, I’ll never dare to peek again.’

A low hum, a persistent buzz.

Her phone vibrated with a new message, and the sound rescued her from her awkwardness.

[I’m out of class. Have you arrived? Where are you?]

Luo Xuan quickly replied: [We just got to school, at the main entrance. Where are you? We can come find you.]

[I’ll come find you. I’m more familiar with the school’s layout, so it’ll be easier for me to navigate.]

There was indeed logic in that, so Luo Xuan didn’t insist further.

“Bai Jingjing, look,” she said, gesturing to the younger girl.

“She’s a very easy person to talk to.”

Bai Jingjing nodded vigorously.

However, she then seemed to recall something.

“Sister Luo, did you say she’s someone from our group chat?”

“Mhm.”

“What’s her name in the group?”

“She’s called ‘Qingqing’,” Luo Xuan said, directly showing her the phone.

“Have you ever spoken with her?”

“I think so, emmmm…”

Bai Jingjing rubbed her small head.

The name felt somewhat familiar to her; after all, they were in the same group chat, so they must have spoken.

However, it seemed there was some other connection she couldn’t quite recall.

“She’ll be here soon, let’s go sit on the bench for a bit,” Luo Xuan said, pointing to a public bench by the roadside.

Bai Jingjing also walked over and sat down, slowly trying to remember.

As the afternoon wore on, the sunlight grew slightly softer, and the temperature was no longer as scorching as before.

Luo Xuan glanced over, noting how dappled light filtered through the leaves of a large roadside tree, casting its patterns upon the girl’s soft, rounded thighs.

“Um, Bai Jingjing,” she asked with a concerned tone.

“Are you cold?”

“Not at all.”

Bai Jingjing replied instinctively, but then, a thought struck her.

‘Why would Sister Luo ask that question?’

‘Setting aside the superficial, she appears to be asking if I’m cold, but in reality, she might be… Ah, I understand.’

“It’s not terribly cold, but if I can stay warm, I won’t refuse,” she said with a smile, patting her own thigh.

“Sister Luo, you can put your hand here.”

Luo Xuan froze slightly.

“No, I, I didn’t, it’s not what you’re thinking…”

“I understand, I understand, Sister Luo is worried that my shorts are too short and my thighs are cold,” Bai Jingjing stated with a completely straight face.

“And your palm has just the right temperature, so putting it here can help keep me warm. It’s definitely not about touching my leg.”

“…”

‘If you’ve already said all the good and bad things, how am I supposed to extend my hand now?’

Luo Xuan still couldn’t quite decipher whether Bai Jingjing’s words were sarcastic or genuinely sincere.

‘Perhaps I should try touching her hand to test her reaction?’

‘If she shows no resistance, it’s genuine. If her emotions change, then it’s sarcasm.’

‘As for discerning Bai Jingjing’s emotional changes, it’s simple: when this big-chested girl’s heart beats faster, her chest (TL Note: ‘Tuantuan’ or ‘团团’ is a playful, onomatopoeic term often used in web novels to refer to a female character’s breasts, emphasizing their roundness and movement) will move.’

‘Bai Jingjing’s First Law: The Principle of Transmission.’

“Then I’ll just…”

Luo Xuan cautiously extended her hand—

“Hello, are you Luo Xuan and Bai Jingjing?”

A melodious voice drifted from beside them.

Luo Xuan’s heart tightened, and her hand, poised in mid-air, retracted with lightning speed.

‘Thank goodness, thank goodness, my own chest isn’t that large. Even if my heart beat faster, my chest (TL Note: ‘Tuantuan’ or ‘团团’ is a playful, onomatopoeic term often used in web novels to refer to a female character’s breasts, emphasizing their roundness and movement) wouldn’t visibly move.’

The two girls turned their heads simultaneously, to see an older sister gently approaching from the direction of the path leading to the academic buildings.

“You’re… Teacher Liu Wanqing?” Luo Xuan asked, a touch of nervousness in her voice.

“The ‘Qingqing’ from the group chat?”

‘I was almost caught; that was a close call, a hair’s breadth escape.’

Bai Jingjing sat beside her, carefully observing this older sister, who might well be her future teacher.

She was a strikingly beautiful older sister, with subtly curled, light-colored long hair, a gentle and mature countenance, and a faint smile gracing the corner of her lips, giving her the appearance of a truly kind person.

She walked unhurriedly along the path, her figure graceful and taller than both Bai Jingjing and Luo Xuan.

Although her chest (TL Note: ‘Tuantuan’ or ‘团团’ is a playful, onomatopoeic term often used in web novels to refer to a female character’s breasts, emphasizing their roundness and movement) wasn’t as pronounced as Xia Chu’s, her overall demeanor radiated a more profound maturity.

Nevertheless, it was still quite ample, larger than Luo Xuan’s.

If Xia Chu’s prominent chest (TL Note: ‘Tuantuan’ or ‘团团’ is a playful, onomatopoeic term often used in web novels to refer to a female character’s breasts, emphasizing their roundness and movement) felt like her personality—too close and you’d be pushed away—then Liu Wanqing’s chest (TL Note: ‘Tuantuan’ or ‘团团’ is a playful, onomatopoeic term often used in web novels to refer to a female character’s breasts, emphasizing their roundness and movement) was like her aura: it made one want to embrace her and playfully cling.

Simply put, she was a super gentle, beautiful older sister, at least on the surface!

Bai Jingjing silently offered her assessment of her future teacher.

“You must be Luo Xuan, the well-known administrator in the group chat,” Liu Wanqing said with a smile, then turned her gaze to Bai Jingjing.

“And Bai Jingjing, you are…?”

“She’s the artist in the group who frequently takes commissions,” Luo Xuan interjected, introducing her.

“Her group nickname is ‘Xiao Bai’.”

“Oh, Xiao Bai…”

Liu Wanqing softened her voice, her gaze sweeping quickly over Bai Jingjing.

It was a swift yet thorough appraisal, moving from her adorable hair tips to her delicate small face, from her ample chest (TL Note: ‘Tuantuan’ or ‘团团’ is a playful, onomatopoeic term often used in web novels to refer to a female character’s breasts, emphasizing their roundness and movement) to her slender waist, and from the soft thighs beneath her hot pants to the small white sneakers on her feet.

“Let’s go,” she said quickly.

“I know of a few available activity rooms.”

She seemed disinclined to let Bai Jingjing and Luo Xuan continue discussing matters from the group chat.

It was then that Bai Jingjing suddenly remembered.

This person, known as “Qingqing” in the group chat, had once commissioned her for artwork.

Do you have to add a translator note for the same word/phrase EVERY time it appears? Just this chapter alone clarifies the same word EIGHT times! Clarifying a word/phrase the first time is appears in the novel is reasonable, clarifying it EVERY time it appears is annoyingly excessive.
