“A passing… Magical Girl?”
Heidi tilted her head in confusion, seemingly pondering the meaning of Kaguya’s words.
“Does that mean you’re not our enemy?”
The girl spoke instinctively, a hint of bewilderment in her voice.
After all, the gruesome sight of this person’s transformation just moments ago had startled her.
No one would doubt if someone claimed this individual was also an executive of their Empire.
In Heidi’s ingrained perception, shouldn’t all magical girls be sparkling all over, just like the purple-haired one from earlier?
How could one exude such a dangerous aura as this person did?
Yet, no sooner had she spoken than she seemed to hear something else, recoiling a few steps as if startled.
“Whoa, I get it, I get it, they’re allies, so stop scolding me—”
Heidi vigorously patted her flushed cheeks.
Then, her youthful face turned towards Kaguya, a serious expression settling upon it.
“Miss… Magical Girl, right? If you are also our enemy, then we can only express our deepest regrets.”
“Chimeric Beast, eliminate them.”
Following the young girl’s soft declaration, the colossal Calamity Beast roared.
Its monstrous wings quivered slightly, and its crimson eyes fixed a chilling gaze upon Kaguya and Zijing, as if peering at two corpses.
“…Are you alright?”
Zijing, having wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, stumbled to her feet, her beautiful face, now drained of color, etched with a hint of worry as she gazed at Kaguya standing before her.
She couldn’t tell if this person was transforming for the first time or had been hiding her true power all along.
Regardless, it would likely be too strenuous for her to contend with a Calamity Beast of this magnitude alone.
“It’s better if we…”
“Shhh~ Don’t always wear such a worried expression. You just need to watch quietly from the sidelines.”
Zijing’s words of persuasion were cut short as the girl before her once again displayed an inscrutable smile.
Then, Kaguya even rose slightly on her tiptoes, pressing a slender finger to her own lips in a gesture of silence.
“Be a good girl. You are my possession, aren’t you? I’ll only like you if you’re good.”
‘Eh…?’
Zijing paused, momentarily stunned by the words, before a hint of daze flickered within her eyes.
For some inexplicable reason, she felt that… Kaguya, after her transformation, possessed a certain magic.
Her youthful voice, coupled with her dazzling eyes, exuded a perilous charm that made one want to surrender completely, to hold her petite form close and do as they pleased, even to willingly succumb to utter corruption.
“Then… I’ll leave it to you…”
A wave of indescribable numbness and powerlessness spread throughout her body.
The light surrounding Zijing dissipated, and she actually reverted from her transformed state, becoming the usually cool and composed Shen Jingyi once more.
Her magical power had already been depleted; she had only been clinging on to protect Bai Muxue.
Now, deliberately provoked by the young girl, her mind in disarray, the suppressed fatigue and drowsiness immediately surged, causing her to slowly sink to the ground.
“Be careful…”
This monster’s regenerative abilities far surpassed those of a magical girl, and prolonging the fight would only work against them.
Yet, no sooner had Shen Jingyi’s warning escaped her lips than Kaguya’s voice softly echoed in her ear.
“Oh, Teacher Shen, don’t worry, I’ll handle it.”
“But you’ll truly owe me a favor afterward, won’t you? After all, this isn’t covered by the contract.”
Kaguya lightly leaped above the Calamity Beast.
Her petite figure, compared to the monster, seemed as minuscule as a blade of grass next to a towering mountain.
‘Ha… a contract.’
Shen Jingyi, usually composed and elegant, displayed a rare, helpless smile upon hearing this.
At a time like this, she was still thinking about that damned contract…
“Roar—”
The Calamity Beast paid no mind to whether the magical girl before it had changed; its whistling, sharp claws mercilessly swept towards Kaguya.
Seemingly misjudging the Calamity Beast’s speed, Kaguya was too slow to dodge and had no time to erect a defense, taking the full brunt of the attack.
“Wh—”
The sight sent a shockwave through Shen Jingyi’s mind, causing her eyes to widen abruptly.
Even Heidi, not far away, covered her small mouth in astonishment, as if some unspeakable horror had unfolded before her.
“Crack.”
Countless cracks rapidly spread across the girl’s entire body.
Her figure blurred abruptly, and she shattered like glass.
The expected scene did not occur.
Aside from scattered glass shards, Kaguya’s figure was nowhere to be seen.
Even the Calamity Beast stared blankly at its own sharp claws, then surveyed the empty surroundings.
Although its brain wasn’t particularly intelligent, it knew that striking a human body shouldn’t feel like that.
“Was that… a mirror?”
‘Was that her ability?’
Shen Jingyi, who reacted first, didn’t even have time to ponder before Kaguya’s body suddenly appeared behind the Calamity Beast.
A faint blue light shimmered in the girl’s palm.
Immediately after, she casually blew the blue light towards the Calamity Beast’s swaying tail.
A ghostly blue radiance shot forth, emanating an bone-chilling cold that froze a thick layer of ice onto the windows of the buildings on either side.
The colossal Calamity Beast couldn’t even react before its massive tail was frozen layer by layer, the ice spreading rapidly and causing it to shriek once more.
The Calamity Beast, its attention drawn to its frozen tail, writhed in agony while simultaneously sweeping its sharp claws towards Kaguya.
Yet, the moment the sharp claws touched Kaguya, the girl’s body shattered and crumbled once more.
This time, she gracefully slipped past the Calamity Beast’s side, appearing directly above its head.
Then, the girl slowly formed a pistol shape with her slender fingers.
“Bang!”
With no superfluous movements, not even using a magic wand, a searing light instantly engulfed the Calamity Beast’s body, piercing directly through its tough hide.
Rolling flames roared forward, consuming the monster’s form and, for a moment, sending out waves of intense heat.
With ice before it and scorching flames behind, the Calamity Beast’s entire body was carbonized.
Its roars became earth-shattering as its massive body thrashed wildly, sending power lines whipping about and bricks and concrete raining down like missiles.
Kaguya’s long hair fluttered, yet her eyes held no trace of emotion.
Her youthful, pretty face was etched with an air of cold indifference, the earlier charm and coquettishness replaced by an indescribable sense of oppression.
“It’s your fault for annoying me.”
Another wave of sky-high flames roared and swept over.
The Calamity Beast finally ceased its twisting, its frenzied struggles slowly coming to an end.
Its massive body slowly toppled, crashing heavily onto the already pockmarked ground, unleashing an earthquake-like tremor, and then, all signs of life vanished.
Three moves.
Against the terrifying Calamity Beast that Zijing had struggled to contend with, even using all her techniques, Kaguya had used only three moves.
