The Misunderstood ‘Operation’

Whether Luo Xuan believed it or not, Bai Jingjing and Xia Chu truly spent the entire night playing games.

They continued until past two in the morning, completing Ayaka’s side quests as well.

“She’s about to dance for you,” Xia Chu said, letting out a charming yawn. “Once we’ve watched the animation, we should really go to sleep.”

Before she knew it, the hour had grown so late. In all her years as a homebody, Xia Chu had never stayed up this late solely for gaming, not like tonight.

Bai Jingjing nodded, her gaze fixed on the game screen as the ‘Egret Princess’ gracefully waded into the river. A hint of surprise touched her voice. “She’s going to dance for me?”

Hearing this, Xia Chu felt a peculiar twinge in her heart, for reasons she couldn’t quite place.

“Yes, just a dance. It’s no big deal,” she replied.

Bai Jingjing’s eyes were utterly captivated. On screen, the maiden danced gracefully, a small fan in hand, bathed in the moonlight and the shimmering reflection of the water.

Though she registered Xia Chu’s words, she didn’t dwell on them, instead blurting out almost instinctively, “I think it’s quite beautiful. Can you dance, Xia Chu sister?”

“No!” Xia Chu immediately retorted.

Puffing out her cheeks, Xia Chu declared with righteous indignation, “My chest is bigger than hers; I can’t keep my balance while dancing like that.”

‘If I tried to dance like that, I’d have fallen over ages ago!’

Bai Jingjing nodded, thinking to herself, ‘That makes sense.’

After Ayaka’s dance concluded, marking the end of that story quest, the two young women shut down their computers and, one after the other, climbed into bed.

“Xia Chu sister, are you hungry?” Bai Jingjing asked just before getting into bed. “Do you want to grab a late-night snack before sleeping?”

“Eating a late-night snack makes it hard to sleep,” Xia Chu murmured, closing her eyes. “Let’s just leave it at that. Goodnight.”

Having played games for so long today, she was utterly exhausted. The moment her eyes closed, she drifted off, devoid of energy for anything else.

On Monday morning, just past nine o’clock, Bai Jingjing climbed out of bed, preparing to depart.

Luo Xuan’s car was already parked outside the residential complex, though, per Bai Jingjing’s instructions, it wasn’t parked too close to the gate.

Xia Chu was stirred slightly by the commotion. She mumbled, then rolled over, intent on resuming her sleep.

“Xia Chu sister, I’m leaving now,” Bai Jingjing told her. “Before I go, should I make you breakfast and keep it warm in the pot?”

“Mmm, you can… No, don’t,” Xia Chu mumbled incoherently, her eyes still closed. “I don’t want to wash dishes.”

“Alright then, you sleep in.”

Gathering her things, Bai Jingjing headed downstairs and out to the complex’s entrance. Grandpa Fan, the gatekeeper, raised a hand in greeting. “Morning, Jingjing. Going to school? Won’t you be late, waking up so late today?”

“It’s fine,” Bai Jingjing replied casually. “I’m off to university.”

Luo Xuan had been waiting in her car outside for quite a while before Bai Jingjing finally settled into the passenger seat.

Meeting the big-chested girl again, Luo Xuan paid no mind to her fair thighs, her mind instead consumed by curiosity about the past two days.

“What have you two been up to these past two days? You weren’t online on QQ, and you didn’t reply to messages. Last night, I saw you were both still awake late, so I messaged Xia Chu, and she said you were playing games.”

Halfway through the drive, Luo Xuan couldn’t hold back. “You were really playing games?”

“Yes,” Bai Jingjing confirmed with a serious nod. “We played all night and didn’t go to sleep until two o’clock.

‘They really played games all night?’ Luo Xuan mused silently.

Luo Xuan hesitated for a moment, then pressed on. “The game you were playing… was it… the innocent kind?”

Bai Jingjing paused to consider. Genshin Impact, if she recalled correctly, was a ’12+’ game.

“It’s certainly not for all ages,” she answered. “Children under twelve aren’t allowed to play, and those between twelve and eighteen are only allowed three hours.”

Luo Xuan secretly clicked her tongue in astonishment. ‘Well, I’ll be. My best friend certainly knows how to have fun.’

‘I never would have guessed before.’

Back at home, after a brief rest, Luo Xuan inquired about another matter. “Was your operation this time successful?”

Bai Jingjing blinked her eyes with an innocent purity. “What operation?”

“The plan and operation you told me about last week, the one you were preparing for Xia Chu,” Luo Xuan explained after a moment’s thought. “You even studied and trained with me for it.”

‘Bai Jingjing’s efforts last week, Xia Chu had certainly noticed them. She was truly dedicated.’

“Oh, that,” Bai Jingjing said softly. “It went very smoothly. The operation took place during Saturday’s nap, and it was incredibly comfortable. Xia Chu sister was also very satisfied afterward.”

“Very smooth and very satisfying, that’s good,” Luo Xuan instinctively affirmed, but a few seconds later, she snapped back to reality, realizing something was amiss. “Wait, during a nap?”

‘How could a plan be carried out during a nap? Sleepwalking?’

‘And they’d need two people to sleepwalk together.’

“A nap is perfect,” Bai Jingjing replied earnestly, blinking her pure eyes. “You’re already lying in bed, so if you get tired, you can just fall asleep. No problem at all.”

Luo Xuan finally couldn’t hold back. “So, you had a date in bed?”

Bai Jingjing also froze for a moment. “The operation and plan… wasn’t it about lewd (TL Note: ‘Sese’ or ‘涩涩’ is a Chinese slang term referring to something lewd, suggestive, or sexually explicit) acts?”

‘A plan and preparation made for Xia Chu, for which she even specially studied and trained with Luo Xuan—truly dedicated.’

‘See, every point matched up.’

A few seconds later, both young women realized this was all a misunderstanding.

“As for the ‘date’ aspect, I suppose it was quite smooth,” Bai Jingjing quickly regained her composure. “We went to all the places we wanted to go and even took pictures.”

‘They had visited Windrise, Stormterror’s Lair, Starfell Valley, Liyue Harbor, The Chasm… and many other places, furiously pressing ‘Z’ to take screenshots.’

Luo Xuan raised an eyebrow, puzzled. ‘You two didn’t even leave the house, so how did you go to all the places you wanted?’

However, she was now more concerned about something else.

“It’s good that it went smoothly, but… you just said the other plan also went smoothly,” the young woman probed cautiously. “Did it really go smoothly?”

‘The lewd plan, that is.’

Luo Xuan’s mood was somewhat complex. On one hand, she often told herself that it was perfectly reasonable and even beneficial for her best friend and Bai Jingjing to start engaging in lewd (TL Note: ‘Sese’ or ‘涩涩’ is a Chinese slang term referring to something lewd, suggestive, or sexually explicit) acts, as Bai Jingjing might need to learn more positions… or rather, more *knowledge*.

“Yes, it went very smoothly,” Bai Jingjing replied calmly. “Didn’t I just say? It was very comfortable, and the other person was very satisfied.”

Luo Xuan let out two dry laughs. “So, what did you specifically feel?”

“It was alright, pretty similar to Luo sister,” Bai Jingjing said, directly using Luo Xuan as a reference. “Just that her chest was a bit bigger, and her stamina was a bit better.”

Luo Xuan’s lips twitched. “Then how could it be ‘pretty similar’?”

‘With such big differences!’

“Well… the little tigers (TL Note: A playful euphemism for female genitalia, often used in a cute or suggestive context) were the same,” Bai Jingjing analyzed seriously, offering her assessment. “Luo sister’s was a bit livelier, while Xia Chu sister’s was more clingy.”

Her utterly serious evaluation of such a thing left Luo Xuan completely speechless.

Her feelings were already complicated, but Bai Jingjing had somehow made them… even more so.

“Never mind,” Luo Xuan said, pulling out her phone to order takeout. “Let’s just order food first.” It was a bit late for them to get back, leaving no time for Bai Jingjing to buy groceries and cook.

“Oh, by the way, Bai Jingjing,” she remembered another thing. “Have you been in the group chat recently, the ‘Lily Garden’ QQ group?”
