That desert is truly terrifying.
Riding a balance board along the open and flat street specifically for magical girls, Kim Erise, clad in her outerwear and pants, recalled the terrifying experience of last night.
Her hands tightly gripped the handlebars as she struggled to keep the lollipop in her mouth.
It was like playing with a madman.
His actions were also rough and relentless, nearly breaking me after a night of torment.
Now, not to mention sitting, even a slight touch down there hurts terribly.
This also meant I couldn’t speed like a humanoid self-propelled motorcycle, let alone drive a car.
Fortunately, there was this great invention, the balance board, which meant I didn’t have to walk to my destination step by step.
But it was still a bit slow.
If only there were any public transportation.
Unfortunately, the front district where I lived didn’t have those things—after all, magical girls who could rival humanoid Gundams would at most drive themselves to save energy and wouldn’t have the patience to wait for subways or buses.
The middle and back districts where humans lived did have quite a bit of public transportation still running, but my destination was only a street away from the front district, so there was no need for it.
But the weather today was nice, though.
Looking at the sky covered with gray clouds, the red-haired girl took a deep breath, letting the wind blow on her cheeks, causing the ponytail behind her head to flutter in the wind.
Overcast weather is the best.
“Chief—”
A childish voice suddenly rang out from the side.
It was a little loli in a dark green dress and white stockings, leaning out of a Lamborghini that passed by, excitedly waving her arms.
“Hey, Anjete,” recognizing that the girl was the short-haired brown-haired loli she met in the hospital, Kim Erise also smiled and waved back in response.
“What a coincidence, to meet you here… Eh eh eh eh, what are you doing?!”
The other person excitedly opened the car door and, like a cannonball, launched herself from the car going about thirty miles per hour, targeting Kim Erise on the balance board.
“Wait, wait, wait, don’t…”
The red-haired girl, with a panicked expression, maneuvered the balance board to dodge, but it was too late.
The other person directly tackled her, balance board and all, to the ground.
She took a solid blow to the back of her head, and the lollipop in her mouth flew out and shattered.
Ouch, ouch, ouch…
“I finally found you, Chief,” Anjete rubbed her head against the other person’s chest.
Seeing the other’s expression of pain, she scrambled up from the embrace.
“I, I’m so sorry, Chief. I, I was too excited, didn’t, didn’t hurt you, did I?”
“Didn’t hurt, didn’t hurt,” although she was seeing the sky as the ground and the girl in front of her as three and a half, Kim Erise, who was seeing stars, still endured the pain and got up, trying her best to pretend to be unfazed.
“We’re magical girls, after all. This little tumble is nothing.”
That’s right, although her head had been hit hard, it felt as though she’d been hit by tofu—not much feeling at all.
The pain was more from her old wounds, which were aggravated by the impact.
Then she found the other girl staring at her with a serious expression, a bit puzzled: “What’s wrong?”
“Wrong,” the short-haired brown loli muttered, then grabbed the red-haired girl’s arm and rolled up the sleeve of her jacket, revealing the extremely conspicuous rope marks, whip marks, and burn marks on her skin.
“Chief, you’ve been bullied, and it looks like you’ve been subjected to inhumane abuse.”
Her eyes were practically spitting fire:
“Who? Who is so heartless as to dare to lay such hands on my dear Chief? I must tear off her head and avenge the Chief!”
“No, no, it’s not what you think,” Kim Erise, realizing that the other girl was going further and further off track, helplessly touched her forehead and made up a lie to gloss over it.
“It’s just that I wasn’t careful and got these myself. No one used violence on me, so don’t worry.”
“…Really, Chief?” Anjete, with a black line on her face, didn’t seem convinced.
“By the way, you seemed to be looking for me earlier? Is there something you wanted to talk about?”
The red-haired girl quickly changed the subject to prevent the situation from escalating further.
“Ah? Oh, right, that’s right,” the short-haired brown loli, remembering the serious matter, said immediately,
“I really want to join the Chief and operate Silver Shore City with the Chief and turn it into a paradise, so please, Chief, promise me!”
“Really? That’s great.”
She didn’t expect to have a magical girl come running to her so quickly.
The red-haired girl smiled and stroked the other girl’s fluffy hair:
“But you have to think it over, you know? Operating a city won’t be easy at all.
On the contrary, you’ll have to suffer a lot, and even endure a lot of gossip.
You basically won’t have the easy, peaceful life you used to…”
“It’s okay, I’m ready,” Anjete stared intently at Kim Erise, clenching her fists, a slight blush appearing on her face.
“As long as I can be with the Chief, I’m willing to endure whatever hardships!”
“Understood, then, thank you, Anjete.”
Although she really wanted to correct the other girl’s attitude, which was purely based on her affection for her, the red-haired girl knew that this girl’s wish to “live happily with the person she loves” must be maintained; otherwise, the girl would definitely fall into despair and transform into a false god.
Therefore, she decided not to correct her for now and let it develop naturally, believing that when the other girl matured, she would find a person more suitable for her than herself.
“Oh, right, my parents also want to come and help build Silver Shore City after hearing about the Chief’s deeds,” the short-haired brown loli said happily, turning and pointing to the Lamborghini parked not far away.
“They are especially, especially amazing scientists who can produce grains that fill many people’s stomachs!”
Agricultural scientists?
Kim Erise’s eyes lit up, as she was already thinking about how to solve Silver Shore City’s serious food crisis.
This was like getting a pillow when you’re sleepy—it was too wonderful.
“Hello, hello, Chief,” a middle-aged man with a neat crew cut walked over with steady steps, and together with a sexy young woman with golden curls, bowed deeply to Kim Erise.
“Long time no see, I’m An Dingzhou, and this is my wife, Angelica.”
“Nice to meet you both,” the red-haired girl stretched out her right index finger, placing it next to her right ear, and made a standard magical girl salute.
“But there’s no need to bow so deeply, just relax.”
“We wouldn’t dare. This is, after all, a rule within the territory of Chaska,” An Dingzhou put his cowboy hat back on and answered politely.
“People like us, humans, must bow to magical girls at a 120-degree angle.”
“I understand, but you don’t need to act so subserviently in Silver Shore City in the future; otherwise, it would go against the original intention of equal coexistence between humans and magical girls,” Kim Erise smiled faintly, popping another lollipop into her mouth. “According to your daughter, are you both involved in agriculture?”
“That’s right, that’s right,” Anjete bounced excitedly to the side, directly interjecting.
“My dad used to win the World Food Prize! He’s amazing!”
“It’s just a trivial title,” the man, who looked to be at least fifty or sixty years old, smiled humbly.
“There’s nothing to brag about.”
“Then I officially appoint you both as the Ministers of Agriculture of Silver Shore City,” Kim Erise took out two files from the small white ball on her waist, pulled out a pen, and wrote something with flourish.
Then she handed them over to the two of them.
“I completely understand the value of the World Food Prize in the era of the old humans, so there’s no need to be so modest.”
However, the young woman with golden hair smiled and declined: “I’m just a student of Professor An.
I’m not qualified to take on such an important position as a minister, so please allow me to live in Silver Shore City as Professor An’s assistant and wife.”
“That’s fine too.”
The red-haired girl, who had already guessed that they were in a student-teacher relationship, cheerfully crumpled one of the files and threw it back into the small white ball.
Then she quickly drafted another file and handed it to the two of them separately: “Then, I’ll be counting on you both in the future.”
“We wouldn’t dare. It’s an honor to work with such an enlightened magical girl Chief and to strive to make all the humans and magical girls in the world eat their fill and live a good life,” An Dingzhou, putting his hand on his chest, accepted the files and answered with humility and caution.
“Alright, let’s leave it at that for now. I’ll contact you both when the official appointment comes,” Kim Erise, stretching her body on her balance board, said, “I still have things to do, so I’ll go…”
“Chief, Chief!” However, Anjete grabbed the red-haired girl’s waist, causing the latter, who had been stimulated by the scars, to flinch again. “Can I go with you?”
“Uh, well, it’s just to recruit members of the Community Party to work in Silver Shore City.
It’s not impossible for you to come, but I guess it’ll be boring.”
She tried to respond in a steady tone while using her arms to pull the other girl’s away.
“I’m sorry, Chief,” Anjete immediately released her arms, realizing she had touched the other girl’s injuries, and blushed, tugging at her skirt.
“It, it’s okay; as, as long as, as long as I can be with the Chief, nothing will be boring!”
“The Community Party?” Hearing this, An Dingzhou took a step forward.
“I have a good personal relationship with some members of the Community Party.
If the Chief doesn’t mind, please allow us to follow along.
Even if we don’t have acquaintances, it’s great to get to know colleagues and work together in the future.”
That does make sense.
So Kim Erise readily agreed, and at the same time, declined the man’s invitation to ride in the Lamborghini with him.
It was impossible, really, I couldn’t sit!
