Having processed the key information, Liyahiss was inwardly astonished.

A level-seven spell? The last one was just some second-rate mage, and now I’m up against a genuine powerhouse? I’ve only just learned a single Super-Tier spell myself… The power creep is getting out of hand.

If she manages to cast that, this forest will be utterly devastated. I don’t really care about the forest, but my house is here! I can’t let her succeed.

Let’s see if I can reason with her first.

“Ahem! You there, blue dragon! What business do you have here?”

“I have come to demand sustenance! Surrender the chicken at once!”

So, this is all because of a roasted chicken, Liyahiss thought. While giving it to her to avoid a fight would be ideal, it would make me look like a pushover. She might even try to take advantage of the situation. More importantly, if word of this got out, what would become of my reputation? My life as a princess would be over…

“And what makes you so certain I was the one who took it?” A faint smile touched Liyahiss’s lips.

“Because it bears my magical signature!”

So that’s how she found me.

“I see. And what if I were to say… no?”

“Hand it over now, and no one gets hurt! Otherwise, I will see your home destroyed and your family slain!” The great blue dragon was growing visibly impatient, poised to strike at any moment.

“If you think you can, then by all means, try.” Liyahiss’s smile was a mixture of nonchalance, indifference, and a heavy dose of contempt. I can use a Super-Tier spell too. If we fought head-on, I’m not certain I’d lose.

“You whelp! Such arrogance!” The dragon stomped a massive foot, sending dust and stone flying as a powerful gust of wind erupted.

“And how can one be a princess without a little arrogance?!” Liyahiss retorted. No matter. I don’t have much combat experience anyway. You’ll make for good practice. When words fail, strength prevails. Might makes right, after all.

[Lightning Spear]!

For someone with high elemental affinity, learning a basic spell like this is effortless. It’s just a shame I can’t use it to synthesize new magic anymore.

Several bolts of lightning shot toward the dragon’s head. She stomped one foot, and a huge slab of earth rose to block the attack, but mere dirt could hardly withstand the might of thunder, and it shattered into dust instantly. Though the initial [Lightning Spear] was neutralized by the earthen wall, the subsequent bolts struck the massive dragon’s head squarely.

The stricken head merely trembled for a moment before recovering. She then threw her head back and let out a furious roar, enraged by the attack.

The sound of rustling leaves and rushing air filled the clearing as a cyclonic storm formed around them, with Liyahiss at its very center.

If this keeps up, my skirt is going to be blown up!

Liyahiss immediately manipulated ice elements, raising walls of ice around her. But passive defense wasn’t her style. She thrust a palm forward, shattering the wall before her. The fragments reformed into countless double-pointed icicles, which she sent hurtling toward the dragon with a push of her right hand.

Just as the dragon began to summon the surrounding wind elements to form a defensive whirlwind, [Carnal Confusion], an ability of her [King of Avarice] talent, activated! The skill plunged the dragon into a state of existential crisis.

Seizing the opportunity, Liyahiss ramped up her magical output, condensing a refined bolt of lightning several times thicker than a normal [Lightning Spear]. To guarantee a hit, she first bound the dragon tightly with [Shadow Touch] before launching the attack.

This single bolt of refined lightning will end the fight!

As the super-sized bolt of lightning struck the dragon with perfect accuracy, it erupted in a dazzling flash of light. A deafening roar and a pained shriek echoed in her ears, and Liyahiss breathed an inward sigh of relief.

The smoke and dust slowly dissipated, vaguely revealing a human figure.
