“Ding-dong-la-mi, booting up—”
Phase jump complete.
The world crystal core has been successfully anchored, and local world logic is now fully compatible.
A Level 5 closed-loop spatiotemporal structure, the Sistia World, was detected, though no resident world deity was found.
The system then commenced a search for a suitable landing point, identifying a secondary universe, a Level 3 star cluster, a G-type yellow dwarf star, and a terrestrial planet in its third orbit, exhibiting a gravitational acceleration of 10.04.
“Warning! Warning! A subspace storm was encountered, along with an assault by unknown laws, causing the body and soul to fracture.”
“Warning! Personal storage space sustained critical damage! Items were lost… Now retrieving… Intermediate Artifact: Death Signal (lost), Intermediate Artifact: End By (damaged)…”
The original body was lost, prompting the free-floating soul to automatically seek a new compatible vessel.
A suitable target was found, designated by the title ‘X,’ and identified as an Artificial Mechanical Lifeform.
Target soul compatibility registered at 95%, body compatibility at a mere 5%, and mental compatibility at 0%.
The assessment concluded that while soul compatibility was high, the personalities were conflicting, and the host body’s performance was too weak to accommodate all skills of the parasitic soul.
Furthermore, powers outside the scope of this world’s laws would face severe restrictions.
A re-scan was initiated to determine if any alternative individuals existed within this world, but none were found.
The system was thus compelled to proceed with the current sole plan, as this world would otherwise be unable to sustain the parasitic soul for an extended period.
“Should the sole Plan B be chosen, involving the erasure of host consciousness and complete occupation of the target body, thereby increasing soul compatibility to 100% to unleash greater power?”
However, the parasitic consciousness rejected this proposition, opting instead for Plan A: a dual-soul integration.
Parallel solutions for the main-space and sub-space are currently being planned; the parasitic entity’s energy is being channeled to construct a mental space; and the optimal soul harmonization method is being calculated.
“Software updating… Hardware upgrading…”
Compatibility achieved.
The dominant consciousness is being selected based on soul rank: Gloria, Rank 45; X, Rank 10.
The primary consciousness was then confirmed—True Name: Gloria. Codename: Wandering Starfield Observer. Divine Rank: Sub-entity of the Blasphemous Demon God, Outer Order Archdeity, God of Dark Arts. (Multi-entity structure, multi-parallel structure).
Fusion complete.
In accordance with the Laws of Reason of the Starfield, and due to the exceedingly low civilization rank, this instrument is initiating an irreversible self-destruction protocol to avert any potential contamination of ill fortune.
The concluding message was recited: “Welcome again to a product of Four-Leaf Clover Limited Liability Company. Should you lose personal belongings during your journey, this company bears no responsibility. Once more, we wish you a brief yet unforgettable life in this new world. Until next time.”
With a ripple through spacetime, the can-shaped machine, emanating a cold black light, disintegrated into dust, vanishing into the icy seawater.
The Demon God had arrived.
“Ah, is this freedom? No heavy shackles, no annoying rules, and none of that stench of souls corrupted by money. Only glittering freedom and the scorching heat of hell. This charred smell is truly wonderful!”
As if having slept for hundreds of billions of years, Gloria’s consciousness surfaced from the mire.
She felt as though, on the verge of collapsing from the scorching summer sun, she had been pushed off a cliff into a waterfall, doused with an exhilarating chill that sent invigorating currents through her entire being, an utterly refreshing sensation.
Even if it was unpleasant, it was still far better than dwelling in the Ruin Realm, where nothing could be perceived.
But she couldn’t let her guard down.
This was an unknown alien world, a desolate wilderness she had never observed before.
It was highly probable that the Laws of Reason had not yet detected this place.
While this was a deliberate choice on her part, allowing her, a major criminal of the Starfield, to safely navigate this pioneering phase by avoiding the watchful eyes of the Laws of Reason, she absolutely could not ignore the extra-dimensional demons and nihilistic evil gods who, like her, enjoyed evading the attention of the Laws of Reason to commit atrocities and wreak havoc upon mortals.
Even though she had once dominated the Supreme Divine Realm, her current state, having severed most of her true power for this plan, left her with no confidence in easily dispatching a local ‘bandit chief.’
Rumor had it that some great demons could single-handedly challenge an elite divine army.
Therefore, to protect herself, she had painstakingly expended vast amounts of energy, condensing her Truth Power to forge two Intermediate Artifacts, enabling her to wield a fraction of the Blasphemous Demon God’s divine power, even in her loli form as Gloria.
One was named Death Signal.
It was an Intermediate Artifact of Rank 45, requiring a minimum tier of 41.
Its form resembled a thin, black diary, accessible whether in spiritual or physical state.
It contained remnants of the Origin Truth, allowing her to cast a series of prophetic or deciphering skills with minimal expenditure of magic or mental power.
It was, in essence, a divine artifact for thwarting schemes, locating treasure chests, finding keys, discovering secret doors, tracking bosses, and revealing entire maps.
If an ordinary human could wield it, they would instantly transform into a Laplace’s Demon.
Naturally, this was impossible; the likely consequence for a human touching such an item would be their nine orifices erupting into fountains and their brains exploding like fireworks.
The other was named End By.
It was an Intermediate Artifact of Rank 44, requiring a minimum tier of 40.
Its form was an ink-black dagger shaped like a right triangle, with the hypotenuse serving as the blade, which featured a slight, wavy pattern across its surface.
The hilt was made of entirely transparent material.
It, too, existed simultaneously in both spiritual and physical forms; insufficient mental or physical power would render it impossible to even summon.
It contained fragments of the End Truth, its effect akin to a musical rest symbol, capable of permanently pausing a state or a concept, holding it in stillness.
Gloria, being proficient in the power of End, could also extend this characteristic, allowing the concept of a rest to stretch into the beginning of a new movement.
Thus, End By could also be used to sever objects, restart concepts, reverse formulas, and even heal injuries.
In essence, its effects were rather abstract.
To draw a human analogy, it was likely a Swiss Army knife: lightweight and versatile.
Beyond these two Intermediate Artifacts, Gloria had also crafted a collection of Lesser Artifacts, as well as Holy Relics, which were inferior to artifacts, ranking between Tiers 26 and 40.
This way, even if the perfect body she had created was only Tier 20, barely able to contend with an infant from the Supreme Divine Realm, it would still be formidable.
However, when combined with this high-tier equipment, she would be powerful enough to dominate the lawless lands beyond the jurisdiction of the Laws of Reason.
‘These are my precious treasures; I absolutely cannot lose them. I hope the phase transfer device didn’t malfunction.’
Subconsciously, she attempted to summon her storage space, but received no response.
Then, within her mental space, she discovered the damaged dagger, its blade curled, lying forlornly on the ground.
She could hear the dagger’s agonizing wail.
Its plight was akin to an imbecile spitefully using a fruit knife to saw at a towering ancient tree for 365 days straight, for ten consecutive years.
Such was the current state of End By.
“Though it’s a bit damaged, at least it wasn’t lost… Wait, where’s my Death Signal book?!”
Hastily, she unfurled her divine sense, sweeping through her mental space, yet found not the slightest trace of any other artifacts or holy relics.
It was then that she realized her storage space seemed to have vanished entirely.
