The Unlocked Medical Room

Chapter 28 • 1,091 words • 10 min read

The elevator entrance remained as dark as ever, and the thought of Takagi’s body once being there left a lingering shadow in my mind…

“Um… can I not take the elevator? It feels a bit scary…” Takahashi’s body trembled slightly as she spoke with a quivering voice.

“Hmm… Takahashi, you want to take the stairs instead? Alright… then we six will go up first.” Akahira looked at Takahashi with concern.

“Yeah! You all go ahead, don’t worry about me…”

“I’ll stay back and look after you all.” Chisaka decided to stay, worried for her friends.

Takagi and the others split into two groups, one taking the elevator. After some thought, I decided to stay behind as well.

“I’ll take the stairs too.” It wasn’t because I was afraid of the dark, but more because I wanted to explore the second floor via the stairs, hoping to gain double the insights.

“Alright, let’s go up together, the four of us.”

“Me too, me too!” Arisumi ran over excitedly, hugging a few bags of potato chips.

“You… you really don’t forget your roots.” Chisaka touched her forehead, sighing.

“Hehe… want to try some? They’re really good!”

“Ah, sorry! I can’t eat such greasy things…” Takahashi quickly declined.

“No… no thanks, Arisumi.”

“Same here.”

“You two are so strict with your figures, huh? What about you, Kamimura?” She held out the bag of chips to me, the tantalizing aroma of tomato filling the air.

“Thanks… I’ll have a few.” I reached out and took the chips, their aromatic flavor spreading through my mouth, slowly mixing with my saliva and flowing into my body. After savoring the delicious snack, my mouth was left with a warm, lingering taste. Unconsciously, I swallowed, feeling a slight movement in my throat as I tried to savor the last hint of tomato flavor. I swallowed my saliva, trying to capture the last trace of taste.

Oh no!!! I want more…

I never really had a habit of snacking, so why am I so hungry today? Could it be because I’ve become a girl?

“Want some more?” Arisumi’s soulful question left me momentarily stunned.

“No, it’s okay…” I politely declined, definitely not because I was embarrassed! Definitely not!!

The five of us girls headed towards the stairs, and midway through, a glance caught my eye and gave me a pleasant surprise!

“Huh? The medical room is unlocked?” Chisaka noticed the slight opening of the door as well.

“The door is really open!” Arisumi gently pushed the door open and stepped inside.

I followed them in, and the strong smell of disinfectant, saline, and other medicines filled my nostrils.

On the left were three beds and medical privacy curtains, while on the right was a row of medicine cabinets, neatly organized with various medications.

“It looks like they have a pretty comprehensive supply of medicines here.” Chisaka focused intently on the medicine cabinets.

“Do you know what all these medicines are for, Chisaka?” Her concentration piqued my curiosity.

She shook her head regretfully: “I only recognize these bottles of eszopiclone, melatonin, and basic disinfectants. The rest, I have no idea.”

“You were a nurse…?”

“No, but I’ve done a bit of disinfection, bandaging, and injections for clients, so I have a little experience in that area.”

“As expected of a ‘Super High School Level Service Staff’… if anyone gets a minor injury in the future, we’ll count on you, Chisaka!” I gave her a genuine smile.

“It’s my duty.” She replied with sincere, motherly affection.

“How could this be…” A voice filled with disappointment and frustration came from the doorway, and it was Arisumi. To find out what was happening, I rushed outside with Chisaka.

There, we saw Osakabe, Arisumi, and Takahashi standing in front of the staircase, a scene that left me slightly headaches—it was still blocked.

“We can’t get in here…” Osakabe whispered softly, her lips pursed.

“It looks like we have no choice but to take the elevator after all…” Takahashi looked down, her brow furrowed.

“Seems that way. This lock looks like it’ll be sealed for a while… There’s nothing we can do now, let’s go.” I faced them with composure.

“Ugh… I don’t want to take the elevator… I’m scared of the dark…” Osakabe hugged herself tightly, her thin arms trembling with fear.

What should I do? How do I reassure her when she’s scared of the dark?

Before, if I encountered such a situation, my mind would go blank, and I wouldn’t know what to do or how to comfort her…

But now, as a girl, I thought my actions wouldn’t be overly startling.

I approached her and wrapped my arms around her petite frame, nestling her adorable head against my chest. I gently placed my hands on the back of her head.

“Kamimura, Kamimura? Muh!” Her wide, bright eyes stared at me in surprise.

“Don’t be afraid, Osakabe. I’m here, and everyone’s with you. If it’s too much, you can hold my hand?” I whispered softly in her ear, calm and gentle.

“Y-yes, I understand, Kamimura! Can you… let me go? I can’t… breathe!”

“Oh? Oh, sorry, sorry. I hugged too tightly…” As a twenty-year-old virgin, this was the first time I had hugged a girl, and it was a bit embarrassing. But I couldn’t deny how soft and fragrant her body felt. The closeness between girls was truly wonderful…

“I never knew Kamimura could be so kind. ” Chisaka smiled mysteriously, watching our interaction.

“Cough, cough… let’s go!” I hurriedly took the lead, unaware of the slight blush on my cheeks.

“Kamimura… she’s actually blushing?” Osakabe covered her mouth in surprise, following behind me.

“Probably her first time doing something like this?” Takahashi smiled back at her.

“Maybe the power of food is at work?” Arisumi began to ponder.

“Hey, you three! If you don’t hurry, I’ll go alone!” I called out to them from the elevator door.

“Coming, coming!” Osakabe hurried over in quick, small steps.

“Let’s go, everyone.” Chisaka and the others quickly caught up.

Out of caution, I took out my student ID and shone it around, ensuring there were no abnormalities before relaxing.

“Ding!” We five stepped into the elevator, with Osakabe obediently taking my right hand.

I could feel her sweating, clearly very tense and fearful in the dark environment.

“We’ll be there soon,” I said softly.

“Y-yes!”

“Ding!” A beam of white light entered, gradually dispelling the darkness ahead.

The five of us stepped out of the elevator into the comforting light, arriving at the third floor.
