Chapter 51: Between Replays and Realizations

Defeat.

“Sigh…”

Leaning back after losing has become a habit.

It looks a bit suggestive, which is nice.

“Seriously, you guys…”

I scratched my head in frustration, feeling the stress heat up my scalp.

“This game completely fell apart because the jungler came to bot in the mid-game. But why were you all spamming pings on me?”

I said this and glanced at the chat window.

  • Hmm…
  • Is that so?
  • Hmmm…
  • I’m not sure.

What’s with these ambiguous reactions?

I was sure not backing them up was the right call.

“Don’t you all think so?”

  • 1,000 KRW donation received.
  • (Diamond 1) I’m a huge fan of Miss Misonyeo, but in this case, backing them up was the right play.

“Are you seriously a Dia-level player… No, wait, is a Dia player giving advice now?”

  • Haha…
  • Real personality on display.
  • Stop. Stop. You’re going to blow up.
  • Don’t crawl out of your shell!

“Come on! Anyone could see this wasn’t a situation to back them up. It was clearly better to push the lane and secure gold instead.”

I spoke faster, feeling a bit wronged by the unexpected responses.

After my comment, the chat window was quiet for a moment before it flooded with messages.

  • Honestly, you should’ve backed them up in this situation.
  • But isn’t this clearly your fault?
  • As a Bronze player, I think it’s your mistake.
  • I’m in Gold, and I agree with that.

“Seriously…”

Why aren’t they taking my side?

Why are they siding with the enemy?

Are they joking, or are they being serious?

I kept explaining my reasoning, speaking passionately.

But the chat window was filled with messages like

  • Hmm…
  • I don’t know about that…

This is infuriating.

At this point, I wasn’t even angry at my team anymore.

Now, I was more annoyed by the viewers who refused to take my side.

Couldn’t they just type something like Yeah, you’re right and move on?

I felt briefly resentful of my viewers for not backing me up, but that resentment quickly turned into determination.

“Fine, then let’s check the replay.”

“Look, right here, I backed them up, okay?”

I paused the replay and passionately explained.

“And then, if the enemy bot lane joins the fight at this point, we can’t win the skirmish, okay!? My character is weak early game!”

I angrily pointed at the portraits of the bot lane characters with my mouse cursor as I spoke.

  • Oh… Is that so…?
  • I really don’t know anymore, looking at it this way.
  • No, the more I analyze it, the less it seems right.

“Guys, I’m just asking for some empathy here. Why are you all so oblivious?”

  • User “GoyammiYammi” donated 1,000 KRW.–This should have absolutely been done. The enemy top laner didn’t have Teleport, but our team did.
  • That’s what I’m saying!
  • But now that I think about it, maybe it’s wrong after all.
  • Feels like this would have been a game-winning fight, no matter what.

The chat was filled with comments agreeing with that sentiment.

“No…”

Seriously, why are there so many people who don’t understand the game?

Why are there so many people making wrong claims?

Why does no one take my side?

Muttering this, I instinctively pouted as I kept replaying the scene over and over.

“Huh?”

Wait…

No…

I paused, touching my chin with my fingers as I thought deeply.

I replayed the clip a few more times without saying a word.

Am I the one who’s wrong?

My expression started to shift slightly.

  • Chat “Stream Expert”:
  • “That’s the face of someone realizing they’re wrong.”
  • “Certified stream expert. ᄋᄌ”

“No…”

I don’t want to admit it, but…

It seems they’re right.

They’re right, but…

That makes it even more frustrating.

My face gradually revealed my realization.

  • “Friend the jungler and apologize. ᄀᄀᄏᄏ”
  • “Apologize to the jungler, or pay 10,000 KRW.”

“No, I’m telling you, I was right! It was the perfect moment to engage!”

“Everyone, leave.”

I scrolled to the top of the chat and temporarily muted for three minutes all the users who teased me or didn’t take my side.

  • “???”
  • “Dictatorship mode on. CCCCCCCC”
  • “What the heck is this?”

I sighed, feeling something welling up inside, and vented.

“Okay, fine. I was wrong. But why don’t you guys ever take my side?!”

I flailed my arms slightly in sync with the emphasis of my words.

  • “Because you were wrong, that’s why we didn’t!”
  • “A wrong person acting angry. ᄏᄏᄏ”

“What did you just say?”

I muted those two users for five minutes as well.

They kept provoking me, knowing I was upset—so five minutes it was.

  • “Run away!”
  • “Ban hammer chaos. CCCC.”

Finally, there was some quiet, which brought a sense of relief.

Still, I sat there fuming, only to suddenly feel a pang of sadness.

I lowered my head slightly.

“You’ve all changed.”

  • “???”
  • “Suddenly?”
  • “What changed?”
  • “What’s wrong now?”

“You used to pamper me and treat me kindly… But now you don’t even compliment me anymore, or tell me I’m pretty… You’ve really changed.”

Saying it out loud made it feel even more true, and my mood sank further.

  • “Well, you gotta deserve the pampering for us to give it!”
  • “If we keep calling you pretty, you’ll start hating it again anyway.”

“Seriously, what am I supposed to do? I’m asking for some empathy here!”

“Both! Just do both! If both is too hard, then at least just take my side!”

I shouted as if throwing a tantrum.

How could they not understand such a simple request?

Are they seriously that dumb?

No matter what happens, they’re supposed to take my side! Even if I commit a crime, even if I make mistakes, they should support and embrace me!

  • “Crazy woman…”
  • “It’s hilarious how you actually say this stuff seriously.”

After venting for a while, I eventually calmed down.

Once I was composed, a wave of embarrassment hit me, and I quietly went back to replaying the game.

Now I feel kind of guilty.

Suddenly, a message popped up on KakaoTalk.

  • Here’s the username and password.

It was from Lee Seong-hyun . I quickly logged in to check.

“Ah…! Thank you so much!”

I typed out my reply and entered the username and password into YouTube’s login page.

We had agreed to turn the Virgin-Loner Cute Girl Archive channel into ours.

It felt a bit awkward to suggest it myself, but thankfully, he brought it up first.

First things first, we needed to change the channel name. After all, I had gotten permission.

Virgin-Loner Cute Girl Archive felt too much like an unofficial account.

[High-School-Graduate Virgin-Loner Cute Girl Official]

“Hmm.”

Satisfied, I nodded and clicked the register button.

“Ah, wait a second!”

Upon closer inspection, I noticed a typo.

“Virgin-Loner Cute Girl Official”?

I quickly went to fix it, but…

[Channel name changes are only allowed once every 30 days.]

“What!?”

What kind of nonsense is this?

I frantically Googled things like “YouTube channel name change not working” and “YouTube nickname change failed,” only to realize there was no way around it.

Fine, I’ll just endure it for a month.

Resolving myself to that, I clicked into the community tab.

You need over 1,000 subscribers to unlock it, but this channel had already far surpassed that, so it was available.

There were polls likely written by Seong-hyun about the types of videos to upload, as well as a post mentioning that I had joined as the editor.

The comments were full of congratulations.

Maybe I should write something too.

I drafted various warm or playful messages but ended up deleting all of them.

What should I even write?

Then, my eyes landed on one of the polls.

I started typing.

Moon I-hyun is…
[1. Pretty]
[2. Cute]
[3. Lovable]

Just then, a new message arrived with an attached file.

  • The edited video is ready. Please review it.

“Ooh…”

I felt a little like an important person.

– Thank you.

I replied with a touch of formality and opened the video.

It was a 5-minute clip.

Apparently, flashy highlights weren’t good for audience retention, so we’d decided to focus on talk videos for now.

But honestly, I didn’t think my commentary was interesting—I’m not particularly witty or eloquent.

When I mentioned that, Seong-hyun had replied:

  • No, you’re plenty entertaining ^^.

I watched the entire video.

It was fun.

Not because I was funny, but because the editing was great. He was truly talented.

However…

Do I really talk like this?

Compared to how I usually speak, there were moments where my voice had this slight nasal tone, almost like I was being playful or coy…

This is so embarrassing.

Could Ji-eun’s teasing actually have been true?

No, it’s probably just this one video…

  • What do you think?

He followed up. I typed and deleted several responses before settling on:

“It’s amazing”

I couldn’t possibly ask him to redo it just because I was self-conscious about my voice.

  • Glad you like it. I’ll go ahead and upload it as is.

“Yes… Thank you… I really love it!”

  • No, thank you. You’re the first person whose commentary has been this fun to edit.

He really has a way with words. He seems to understand how to win people over, not just women but anyone.

I must be incredibly lucky to have people like this around me—Ji-eun, Chae-hyun, and now Seong-hyun too.

We chatted back and forth about various topics until we ended up discussing food.

  • What’s your favorite dish, I-hyun?

“Hmm… Mala soup or tteokbokki.”

The best part about having more money now is being able to enjoy both without worry.

  • Oh…I like those too.

“Oh? Really?”

Impressive taste for a guy. I’d never met a man who liked those dishes before.

Smiling to myself, I typed:

“We should try them together sometime!”

He seemed like a genuinely good person, someone I could trust.

There was a brief pause before he replied.

  • I-hyun.

“Yes?”

  • Are you free this weekend?
