But the drawbacks were equally obvious.
Because it pursued the ultimate number of combos, the damage dealt by each individual attack was low.
Unless all the attacks could be unleashed on a single target.
Or, as Black intended to do now, render the opponents incapable of fighting.
The next moment, Black moved!
A shockwave suddenly erupted from the ground beneath his feet.
Boosted by the Priest’s oracle and the Flow state, his figure transformed into a streak of blue and white light.
He cut into the puppet group at astonishing speed.
Dual Wielding!
His movements were so fast they left afterimages.
“Thud!”
The first horizontal slash accurately struck the back of the neck of a puppet on the right.
He didn’t use any sharp edges, only the sheathed bodies of the swords.
That new student collapsed to the ground without so much as a grunt.
Black’s figure didn’t stop. The two Shadow Swords, wreathed in moonlight, transformed into two blue wheels of light.
He moved through the crowd freely, striking the back of the neck of every charging puppet student with just the right amount of force, like a rain of blows!
He precisely hit the acupoint that could cause instantaneous unconsciousness.
Furthermore, after becoming puppets, these new students only attacked mindlessly, completely ignorant of how to protect the back of their own necks.
“Thud!” “Thud!”
“Thud!” “Thud!”
A dense series of muffled strikes rang out!
The controlled puppet students couldn’t mount any effective resistance.
Under the force of the blows, their eyes rolled back.
They collapsed limply to the ground, temporarily unconscious.
Black’s afterimage weaved, flickered, and spun through the crowd.
His twin swords danced flawlessly, each strike precise to the millimeter.
In just a few short minutes, when Black’s figure emerged from the other side of the puppet group.
Behind him, new students lay scattered all over the ground.
They had all just been knocked out, with no fatal injuries on their bodies.
Black’s figure re-solidified. He let out a light breath.
His twin swords drew two perfect arcs at his sides.
If it were just Dual Wielding, the spiritual power would be too violent and could easily injure the new students.
But with the addition of Moonshadow Enchantment, the spiritual power was converted into a gentler magical power.
Knocking out the new students was not a problem.
“Hiss! This is just…”
Leon and the others all gasped. They had never expected Black to defeat the puppet students in such a way.
The shocks Black brought them came one after another.
A look of joy also appeared on Kristine’s face. If she didn’t have to worry about the new students, she could fight with her full strength!
Now, they only had to deal with the Phantom Dragon!
The real battle was only just beginning!
Without any pause, Black removed the sheaths, revealing the cold, glinting blades.
With a turn of his magical power, the light of the two Shadow Swords danced once again!
When Dual Wielding was stacked with Moonshadow Enchantment, if every sword strike was unleashed on the same target, the damage would not be low at all.
His cold gaze locked directly onto the Phantom Dragon in the shadows!
Then he shot forward!
“Voom!”
The Phantom Dragon’s own combat power was very average.
Without its puppets, it was at most at the level of a Level 50.
Sensing the killing intent, the Phantom Dragon’s six compound eyes rotated simultaneously.
They refracted dozens of distorted light rays, all of which shot towards Black!
Black frowned. These light rays were its most deadly skill.
Spirit-Binding Rays!
If he were hit by these rays, he would become its puppet.
However, his speed had now been boosted to a terrifying degree.
With just a few flickers, he easily dodged all the light rays.
He closed in on the Phantom Dragon.
The Phantom Dragon’s antennae had just risen in alarm when two silver-blue arcs of light had already crossed and slashed towards its neck.
“Tsch!”
The first sword strike hit an afterimage, and the Phantom Dragon’s form dissipated like smoke.
But Black had already anticipated this, and his second sword strike suddenly changed direction.
The blade, wrapped in the power of moonlight, struck heavily the moment the Phantom Dragon’s real body materialized.
“Thump!”
A muffled impact sounded as the sword body hit the pitch-black scales three inches down the dragon’s neck.
The translucent scales were instantly covered in web-like cracks, and black dragon blood splattered out.
The Phantom Dragon let out a sharp hiss, and its six compound eyes emitted a distorted light.
Black’s assault did not let up, his twin swords transforming into streaks of light.
The left sword slashed horizontally, breaking through the incoming psychic wave, while the right sword thrust straight at its chest.
Before the blade arrived, the moonlight did, drawing a beautiful blue trajectory in mid-air.
“Screech!”
This time, it struck the Phantom Dragon’s chest squarely.
The pulsating purple tissue on it burst, spraying a sticky fluid.
The Phantom Dragon’s entire body convulsed violently, its translucent form flickering in and out of existence.
It had clearly sustained substantial damage.
Black pressed his advantage, his twin swords slashing faster and faster.
He left more and more bloody marks on the Phantom Dragon.
The Phantom Dragon was forced back, looking utterly wretched.
“Scree!”
Feeling the ever-thickening aura of death, the Phantom Dragon let out a shriek that pierced straight to the soul.
Immediately after, the three pairs of spiraling, ghostly blue horns on the Phantom Dragon’s head suddenly began to glow.
The ghostly light scanned his entire body at extreme speed, invading his brain.
‘Not good!’
Black retreated dozens of meters, but his head was still dizzy.
Faint memories of Alice played like a slideshow in his mind.
Although he quickly regained his clarity, Black felt that something was not quite right.
At this moment, the Phantom Dragon suddenly spat out a large amount of black mist.
The mist gathered and condensed into a ball of black liquid.
That ball of black liquid floated in front of Black.
Then, as if it had a life of its own, it continuously twisted, condensed, and took shape.
A moment later, a figure was formed, appearing before Black’s eyes.
When he saw the figure clearly, Black’s pupils trembled, his face turned deathly pale, and he couldn’t help but be moved.
The figure wore a magnificent dark red formal dress.
She had a pair of crimson eyes, as vibrant as blood, that glinted coldly in the dim light.
A gold-trimmed corset perfectly outlined her slender figure, and her cravat was as striking as a drop of blood.
Her entire being was like a rose blooming in the dark night, beautiful and noble.
Yet she exuded a deadly aura.
When they saw the face of this illusion, everyone was stunned.
“P-Princess Alice?!”
Brenna cried out in shock.
Kristine also covered her mouth, her eyes filled with disbelief.
This move of the Phantom Dragon was called “Phantom Double.”
It was a very special skill.
It would read the mind of its target to find the person they cared about most and create an exclusive illusion based on that person.
Right now, the one the Phantom Dragon had created based on the person in Black’s heart.
Was none other than the Second Princess, Alice!
Looking at this illusion, which was identical to Alice.
Black’s expression was extremely grim, and his fists clenched unconsciously.
The phantom “Alice” slowly raised her eyes, her gaze falling upon Black.
Although her eyes were vacant and devoid of light, they were tinged with a faint, sorrowful air.
“All this time…”
Her voice was ethereal, reaching Black’s ears clearly.
“Thank you…”
“Thank you…”
She repeated, her voice choked with a heartbreaking sob.
“It’s a pity…”
“I can’t make you my royal knight…”
“Nor can I… make you my Jerry…”
These words, like the sharpest of daggers, stabbed viciously into the softest part of Black’s heart.
It made it hard for him to distinguish whether the beautiful figure before him was a false illusion or the real Alice.
