“A warm welcome to our distinguished guests, who have traveled far to join our auction tonight. I’m sure you’ve all heard the rumors, so without further ado, let the auction officially begin!”

On the auction stage, the host, dressed in a strapless gown, amplified her voice with magic. The main event of the evening was about to unfold.

“Our first item tonight: the Pale Mist! This piece features five large, white pearls strung together, each infused with pure light-attribute magic. It not only provides an exquisitely relaxing massage experience but also rapidly restores one’s vitality. Complemented by white lace at the front and three-dimensional floral embroidery at both ends, it evokes an alluring and seductive charm. The starting bid is ten thousand gold coins, with a minimum increment of one thousand.”

“I bid twelve thousand gold coins!”

“Fifteen thousand!”

“Eighteen thousand!”

The bids rose one after another, a cacophony of voices that continued until a familiar female voice cut through the noise.

“One million!”

The clamor came to an abrupt halt as everyone turned to see who had spoken. The one who had shouted the bid was a tall, red-haired woman in revealing attire, her hair cascading freely over her shoulders.

Her again? Liyahiss glanced over at her as well. Considering the woman’s figure and current outfit, she thought the pearl panties seemed rather… fitting. After all, it was just as the old saying went: clothes make the man. A vulgar figure called for vulgar attire.

“One million, going once!”

“One million, going twice!”

The hall remained silent. It was unclear whether the other bidders were short on funds or simply felt they weren’t worthy of such a… personal item.

“One million, going three times! Sold! Congratulations to the lady.”

Following that were other items: easily torn stockings, small gem-encrusted clips, a lubricating floral-scented edible oil…

I have no idea what any of this is for, but none of it seems very respectable.

“And now, for our grand finale: crafted by our nation’s most preeminent alchemical master—the Holy Sword of Evil’s Bane! Its primary function is to amplify the wielder’s light-element magic, and it can also dispel dark elements in the vicinity. Not only is it immensely powerful, but its craftsmanship is exquisite. The starting bid is ten million gold coins.”

“Twelve and a half million gold coins!”

“I’ll bid sixteen million!”

“Then I’ll make it twenty million!”

“Oh, you want to compete? I’m willing to pay thirty million!”

This time, only two people were competing; everyone else was watching silently from the sidelines.

“My affinity for the light element is as high as seventy percent! Only I can bring out its true value!”

“Hilarious! My light-element affinity is garbage, but I like the look of it. I plan to use it as a decoration.”

“Are you out of your mind? A treasure like this is nothing more than a vase to you? If you can’t use it, you should let someone who can have it!”

“That’s right! I am out of your mind, and I just don’t feel like letting you have it~”

“It seems a fierce battle is unavoidable today. Let’s see whose pockets are deeper!”

“Bring it on! I’m not afraid of you!”

Just as the two were about to continue their bidding war, a cold voice cut their exchange short.

“One hundred million gold coins!”

“Huh?”

The crowd was stunned into silence for a moment before turning to look at the woman who had spoken. She was a young woman dressed in a white robe, her face veiled by a light gauze, with waist-length, water-blue hair. Though her features were obscured, her aura was anything but ordinary.

Hearing this bid, the two women in the VIP room were momentarily stunned.

To be able to produce that much money… she doesn’t look like new money. Could she be the daughter of some wealthy family?

At this point, all they could do was pray that the newcomer had no intention of bidding on the final item, or that after this purchase, she would have less money left than they did.
