Evil Spirit Knight

Black did not answer.

He pointed to the magic array on the ground, which had lost its magical support but whose patterns were still clearly visible.

He walked to the edge of the magic array, bent down, and picked up a magic crystal that the necromancer had placed there earlier.

Then he tossed it into Irena’s hand.

“Feel the magical power contained in this crystal.”

Black said.

Irena was a little confused but did as she was told.

She closed her eyes and carefully sent a sliver of her magical power into the crystal in her hand.

Immediately after, a strange scene occurred.

The magic crystal in her hand erupted with an astonishing purple light.

The light illuminated a small area around them as if it were daytime.

“Did it trigger a magical resonance?”

Leon said in surprise.

“Only pure magical power of a certain scale can trigger this level of resonance.”

At this point, Irena opened her eyes, her face filled with shock.

“S-So much magical power! This magic crystal is incredibly valuable. It’s a true high-tier magic crystal.”

She said with certainty, feeling the magical fluctuations that were almost overflowing.

After she spoke, everyone subconsciously looked around.

The necromancer had placed a full ten of these crystals around the magic array.

Black nodded and asked in a deep voice.

“Do you think that if it were just for casting ordinary necromancy to create ordinary evil spirits, would so many high-tier magic crystals be needed?”

Kristine shook her head.

“Absolutely not. If it required so many high-tier magic crystals just to refine ordinary evil spirits, the cost would be too high. It wouldn’t be worth it at all.”

“Even if an ordinary person were lucky enough to learn necromancy, they wouldn’t have the capital to refine evil spirits.”

Jianye also took the magic crystal from Irena’s hand at this point and carefully felt it.

Then she squatted down and observed the structure of the magic array on the ground.

After a moment, she said thoughtfully.

“This arrangement of energy nodes and the structure of this array… I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere.”

She began to search through her storage ring.

Soon, she took out a dark brown spell book.

She opened it to a certain page and then gestured for everyone to come and have a look.

Everyone gathered around curiously.

And found that on that page was a complex magic array pattern, with dense annotations next to it.

Unexpectedly, they found that the shape of the magic array recorded on the page.

Was extremely similar to the one the necromancer had drawn on the ground, with only a few differences in the patterns!

Moreover, the text description next to it also explicitly mentioned.

It required “ten high-tier magic crystals, placed in ten specific energy node areas around it.”

“The similarity between the magic array recorded in the book and the one on the ground is over ninety percent.”

Leon concluded, comparing the book and the ground.

“The only difference is that the patterns on the ground are a bit more complex.”

Irena looked at the name of the magic array on the page and read it out.

“Synchronization Spell Array…? Isn’t that a very high-tier fusion-type spell? It’s said to be able to fuse different elements, spiritual power, magical power, and even life energy.”

Hearing this, Kristine pondered for a moment.

“I’ve taken some of the academy’s theoretical courses on magic arrays, and they did mention that some specific magic arrays can be stacked, thereby producing a one-plus-one-is-greater-than-two effect.”

“I’m afraid the magic array the necromancer set up is a superposition of a necromancy array and a synchronization array.”

She paused and raised the most critical question.

“But, what on earth did that person want to do, spending such a huge price to superimpose these two magic arrays?”

At this point, Black deliberately spoke, stating his speculation.

“I guess he wanted to fuse all the refined evil spirits and, with the help of the synchronization spell array, create the legendary Evil Spirit Knight.”

“Evil Spirit Knight?!”

They had all heard of the infamous reputation of the Evil Spirit Knight.

Black nodded.

Black had the girls leave first to rest.

He, Leon, and Land stayed behind to deal with the aftermath.

They called for several carriages and carried the people who had been possessed by evil spirits and were still unconscious onto them.

And sent them to a nearby clinic for treatment.

If they had followed the normal procedure and notified the Dragon-Slaying Guard headquarters.
