From within the treasure chest, three relics materialized, slowly revolving around a central point and emanating their own distinct radiance.
To the left lay a weighty, black spellbook, its cover crafted from coarse leather and adorned with runes embroidered in dark golden thread.
Adjacent to it, its effects were detailed: [Book of Mana Spring] – a passive ability granting one additional cost per turn, yet imposing an extra turn of ‘Vulnerability’ in every battle.
At the center pulsed a fist-sized, dark green heart, its surface a dense network of gnarled veins.
This was the [Troll Heart], a passive effect that restored 8% of one’s health after each battle.
While both were appealing, Sovenia’s gaze instinctively drifted to the item on the far right.
There, a longsword rested, its slender blade gleaming with a silvery-white hue, reminiscent of moonlight, while its edges shimmered as if forged from the very luminescence of the moon.
Its description read: [Blade of Moonlit Glory], a finely crafted magical longsword capable of amplifying elemental magic and boasting an eternally sharp, unyielding edge.
Any further, more profound capabilities, however, would only be revealed through magical appraisal.
‘How truly beautiful.’
The [Blade of Moonlit Glory] captivated Sovenia’s attention almost instantly.
An image, unbidden, bloomed in her mind: a slender, silver-haired elven maiden gracefully wielding the longsword beneath the moon, its blade tracing arcs of light like a flowing river of silver.
‘This is the one.’
‘No, absolutely not.’
She abruptly severed that whimsical thought.
‘As Jimi the Cruel, the formidable First Heavenly King under the Demon Queen, how could I possibly make a decision based on such a frivolous and useless attribute as “beauty”? This is utterly preposterous.’
‘This body, in mere hours, must have inflicted some considerable and insidious damage upon my Heavenly King’s great, resilient, and ruthless intellect.’
‘The [Spirit in a Bottle] is truly dreadful, as is the [Monkey’s Paw], that malevolent wish-granting device.
Fortunately, the head of my male form will surely return to me soon.’
‘Therefore, I must now meticulously consider my greatest needs in this Western fantasy setting, solely from a tactical standpoint.’
‘I am in dire need of a proper weapon.
This current body feels far too frail, and that demonic one-handed sword is both heavy and cumbersome, utterly ill-suited for me.’
As if to confirm, or perhaps to prove, her point.
Sovenia attempted a flourish with the demonic one-handed sword she held, only for its broad, heavy blade and forward-leaning balance—characteristic of a demon armor-piercing weapon—to completely distort her intended movement.
‘Indeed, it is entirely unsuitable for me,’ Sovenia mused, her gaze drifting back to the [Blade of Moonlit Glory].
‘This longsword, she observed, clearly belonged to the category of agile, nimble weaponry.
Longswords inherently possessed great versatility, and the [Blade of Moonlit Glory] seemed even more potent.’
‘It offers utility in close combat and promises to amplify any elemental magic I might acquire later.
Even though I currently command not a single elemental spell, it is prudent to plan for future battles.
I already have the [Blazing Blade]; I am ready for any fight.’
‘Thus, this is a purely tactical consideration.’
‘Yes, that’s precisely it.
Moreover, this body is merely temporary; once I reclaim my head and restore my full power, all these effeminate trinkets can be discarded.’
‘Therefore, selecting this blade represents the most strategically valuable choice for my current predicament.’
After a period of what she deemed “ruthless deliberation.”
Sovenia grew increasingly convinced that her decision was indeed well-considered.
She extended a finger, gently tapping the ethereal form of the [Blade of Moonlit Glory].
Wawalde, who had been squatting nearby attending to his own tasks, happened to glance up.
Catching sight of Sovenia’s somewhat vacant expression, he murmured to himself with a touch of pity,
