Grey Moon’s Stand

Chapter 111,120 words10 min read

The pristine ceremonial dress and silver-gray long hair of Magical Girl Grey Moon as she soars beneath the clouds. Soon, she spots the location of the impending ambush.

C City’s largest plaza, the Citizens’ Plaza.

In the adjacent district, Magical Girl Tri-color is locked in battle with countless monstrosities. Grey Moon scans the scene and determines that no assistance is needed. She swoops down directly onto the Citizens’ Plaza, where a large gathering of monsters awaits.

Grey Moon initially wonders why, but upon landing, she notices the unusual setup. A large podium has been erected in the center of the plaza, suggesting that the mayor is about to deliver a speech.

“Click.”

Grey Moon’s slender heels click against the green stone pavement, briefly revealing her white silk legs before the ceremonial dress falls gently, concealing them. Her crimson eyes glance forward.

“Aieeeee…”

A monster within her line of sight lets out an unendurable wail, collapsing into the arms of a companion and secretly wetting itself.

The plaza’s monsters retreat in terror, leaving a clear space for her. Despite their low intelligence, these lower-level monsters instinctively push the weaker ones forward as shields, sensing that approaching this petite magical girl would mean death.

Has the half-awakened faction set its sights on C City’s mayor this time?

Grey Moon barely glances at the monsters beneath the podium, striding forward and casually waving her hand. Instantly, all the monsters on the scene realize they can emit no sound.

Not only that.

The sounds of their movements, terrified whimpers, and trembling muscles—all the usual cacophony—vanishes in an instant.

Across the vast plaza, the only sound is the rhythmic clicking of Grey Moon’s high heels on the stone pavement.

Grey Moon tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.

Around her, hundreds of monsters dissolve into gray ash, drifting upward like snowflakes from the ground.

“Clap, clap, clap, clap.”

Applause echoes from the podium. In Grey Moon’s view, the battle employee Captain 19 appears once more, his face covered by the Number 19 mask, clapping enthusiastically.

“Magical Girl Grey Moon, with a simple wave, can turn monsters to ash and dust. Her ‘Silence’ ability is indeed formidable.”

“Again, it’s you.”

Grey Moon lifts her head to meet Captain 19’s gaze, her crimson eyes filled with disgust. She doesn’t attack immediately, for Captain 19 holds a frail middle-aged man hostage, clearly the mayor, judging by the posters surrounding the podium.

Captain 19 presses a short gun to the mayor’s temple. Though the gun is ineffective against monsters or magical girls, it’s more than capable of blowing apart a human’s skull.

“Don’t make any sudden moves, or I’ll blow the mayor’s head off.”

“It won’t matter,” Grey Moon replies, her youthful face unflinching. “The police have surrounded the area, and other magical girls will arrive soon. You won’t escape.”

“Maybe so, but look at this.”

Captain 19, seemingly unconcerned, even speaks with a cheerful tone as he produces a black memory card.

Grey Moon has a bad feeling about this.

“To ensure you don’t lack common sense and get me killed, little sister, let me introduce this memory card. Cameras store their footage on these.”

Grey Moon recalls the camera she destroyed the previous day, her delicate brows furrowing slightly, and her posture becoming a bit more constrained.

Grey Moon remains silent, and Captain 19 continues to hold the hostage, toying with the memory card, also silent.

Grey Moon can’t fathom his intentions.

“So, what do you want?”

“What do I want? Hehe~” Captain 19’s voice drips with evil laughter. “The most important thing now is you, Magical Girl Grey Moon! What should you do now?”

“If you don’t want me to upload the contents of this memory card online for everyone to see.”

“Shouldn’t you first remove that bothersome clothing and crawl over here on your knees to call me ‘master’?”

“Then, with that cold, arrogant face of yours, serve me until I’m satisfied. Maybe then, I’ll return the card to you.”

“Oh, and I’d advise you not to have any clever ideas. The content has already been pre-edited by our evil organization. If I die, it will immediately upload online.”

Grey Moon watches as Captain 19 becomes increasingly excited and smug, almost visualizing his repulsive face beneath the mask, tongue lolling as he imagines her silk-covered legs.

“Hmph.”

Magical Girl Grey Moon’s response is a cold snort.

“What good would taking the memory card back do now? You’ve already copied its contents hundreds, if not thousands, of times, right?”

Magical Girl Grey Moon’s face flushes with a mix of embarrassment and heroism.

Captain 19 silently ponders, realizing his plan won’t work, and murmurs, “As expected, that won’t do.” He tosses the memory card to Grey Moon, who doesn’t catch it but stomps it with her heel, shattering it.

“As you said, your treat is guaranteed.” Captain 19 speaks frankly, his tone growing increasingly lewd. “And I won’t hide it from you. I watched it all night last night, hehe, the most enjoyable experience ever.”

Grey Moon imagines herself being objectified by this subordinate, used as a nighttime fantasy, and her forehead veins bulge with anger. She clenches her fists.

If not for the hostage,

If not for the hostage, she would have already charged up and blasted him away.

“Hmm? Did you understand?” Captain 19 notices the veins on Grey Moon’s forehead and chuckles with a smirk. “I never expected the famous Magical Girl Grey Moon, the cold and aloof heroine, to be so knowledgeable in private!”

“I thought you were truly pure, but it turns out you’re just acting. Hah, this is hilarious.”

Magical Girl Grey Moon clenches her teeth, her face red with anger, like a pressure cooker ready to explode, wishing to tear Captain 19 to pieces.

“But…” Captain 19, still not finished, occasionally glances around. “After watching your footage again and again, dozens, even hundreds of times, sacrificing my sleep and earning two black eyes!”

“I finally discovered it!”

“Magical Girl Grey Moon’s ‘Silence’ ability has a fatal flaw!”

“That seemingly deadly final move has a hidden, unavoidable weakness!”

Captain 19 looks up at the sky, exalting for a long moment before lowering his gaze. “Ah… you can come out now.”

With a snap of his fingers, four imposing monsters emerge from behind the podium. Their confident strides, the poses they strike, their muscular physiques, and self-assured expressions reveal them to be top-tier, A-class monsters.

Grey Moon has faced such monsters before, but today, her expression grows serious.

Captain 19 notices her reaction and knows his guess is correct, chuckling as he points at Grey Moon. “Magical Girl Grey Moon, your ‘Silence’ ability…”

“Is it a non-discriminatory area-of-effect ability?”

“So, when there are innocent bystanders like now, you can’t use it at all—”
