To solve a problem, multiple approaches can be taken. As the saying goes, “Haste makes waste.” The diverse
methods you explore grant you special privileges within the stage. These privileges will expire when the Class
Annihilation Match concludes.
Even as the notification window appeared before his eyes, Yoo Hee-yeon and her group were closing in from behind.
Time was running out. Lee Hyun-seung quickly skimmed through the text.
[S] Territory Shift
▶ Instantly teleport to one of the six territories (1-6) regardless of your current location.
▶ Cooldown: 30 minutes
Upon reading the description, Lee Hyun-seung couldn’t help but inwardly cheer. It wasn’t just a good skill—it was
phenomenal.
Although it didn’t directly enhance his combat abilities and was limited to the six designated territories, the ability to
move instantly to any desired location was incredibly valuable.
It could serve as an escape tool when being pursued or even as a means to secure a key territory effortlessly.
‘I need to use this wisely.’
The 30-minute cooldown wasn’t short. However, the potential of the ability was undeniable.
Most importantly—
“Lee Hyun-seung, just give up already. Do you really think you can escape? You’ve been hiding like a rat, trying to
buy time, but it seems things didn’t go as planned, did they?”
Yoo Hee-yeon smirked down at Lee Hyun-seung, who sat slumped on the ground. He hesitated.
‘Should I use it now?’
It would make sense to use it immediately. In fact, it felt like the natural thing to do. But he couldn’t help wondering
if using the privilege so casually would be a waste.
Yoo Hee-yeon had no idea that he possessed such a skill. If he teleported in front of her, she would certainly realize
he had a special ability. While she might not figure out its exact mechanics, she would still catch on to its existence.
‘But if I create a diversion first, I might be able to keep it hidden.’
With that thought, Lee Hyun-seung decided to buy some time by engaging her in conversation.
“Why are you going to such lengths against me? If your goal is to win the Class Annihilation Match, there’s no reason
to chase after me. This isn’t an all-out war; it’s a territorial capture match. There’s no need to group up and hunt me
down like this.”
Yoo Hee-yeon looked at him, her expression unreadable.
“Ha, don’t be ridiculous. You may not realize this, but my team members have already set out to capture all six
territories. By now, they’ve probably taken control of every single one.”
“Even with the forty people here, you only have about ten to twenty people left to spare. If you’ve split them across
six territories, that’s just two to three people per location. Do you really think such a small force can handle the F-
Class students?”
Lee Hyun-seung’s voice rose as he shouted. Laughter erupted from behind Yoo Hee-yeon.
“Pfft!”
“What nonsense is he spouting?”
“He thinks we, the A-Class, can’t handle a bunch of F-Class weaklings?”
The A-Class students sneered, finding his words utterly absurd. It wasn’t a reaction he hadn’t anticipated—the gap
between A-Class and F-Class was monumental.
Shaking her head, Yoo Hee-yeon spoke disdainfully.
“You’re the top scorer in the written exams, but it seems your intelligence ends with theoretical magic. You were part
of A-Class once; how can you not understand the gap between us and the F-Class?”
Her voice turned icy as she continued.
“If only you had stayed in your lane. If only you hadn’t tried to take a position that didn’t suit you. If you had been
content with being second, I wouldn’t have had to go to such lengths.”
Yoo Hee-yeon clenched her teeth, her voice dripping with frustration.
“Only those destined to rise should occupy the highest positions. I was born to be the top. It’s my rightful place. But
you… You don’t deserve it. The title of top scorer is wasted on someone like you. If you had just settled for second
place, none of this would have happened.”
As she spoke, mana began to swirl around her hands.
“You’ll feel it deep in your bones—the difference between you and me. Right now, you’re all alone, and I’m
surrounded by people. I don’t understand why my father overestimates you, but this is where you truly stand. No one
is by your side now, and no one ever will be. On the other hand, I’ll always be surrounded by people. If I tell them to
crawl, they’ll crawl. If I tell them to die, they’d at least pretend to. People you could never gather with your abilities.”
As Yoo Hee-yeon spoke, the expressions of those behind her stiffened. It was only natural. No one could remain
indifferent when being referred to as mere tools. Yoo Hee-yeon was aware of this, yet she spoke anyway. She wanted
Lee Hyun-seung to feel the stark difference in status between them.
Unlike fleeting friendships, fragile trust, or shallow bonds, she believed in relationships built on clear hierarchies.
Such bonds wouldn’t break. Her position would remain solid, and Lee Hyun-seung would never reach her level. That
was the message she wanted to convey.
Outside the stage, Yoo Han-beom let out a deep sigh.
“Hee-yeon…”
Yoo Hee-yeon’s piercing shouts echoed through the screen. Even knowing that people outside were watching and
listening, she didn’t care, pouring all her venom into her words. Yoo Han-beom couldn’t help but see his younger self
in her.
“Where did it all go wrong…?”
He sighed deeply. He had once been like her, focused solely on power and wealth, treating people as tools to climb
higher. He understood her mindset but couldn’t help but feel sorrowful.
Such methods couldn’t last forever. Even someone as untouchable as Yoo Han-beom, with immense power, was now
concerned about his future. The people he had used and discarded were like hyenas waiting to devour him the
moment he stepped down from his position as guild leader.
Was it his fault for neglecting her? Or was it the toxic environment he had created, one that she had grown up
watching? He didn’t know. What he did know was that Yoo Hee-yeon was on the wrong path—just as he had been.
Yoo Han-beom wiped the corners of his eyes with his hand. It came away damp.
Seeing this, Bae Gi-young quickly offered him a handkerchief.
“I don’t need it.”
Yoo Han-beom dispelled the moisture on his face and hands with magic, then turned back to the screen.
‘What should I do with you, Hee-yeon?’
Lee Hyun-seung only half-listened to Yoo Hee-yeon’s tirade, checking the ammunition in his messenger bag.
‘I still have plenty left.’
He hadn’t used as many bullets as he’d expected and had managed to hold out for quite some time. Furthermore, he
had even eliminated one member of the opposing team—a significant achievement. However, there were still around
59 A-Class members left. It was far from a small number, and the challenges ahead were only growing.
Yoo Hee-yeon continued to yell, her voice hoarse with anger. Lee Hyun-seung, still largely ignoring her words, pulled
out a magazine from his messenger bag.
-[Healing Ammunition] equipped.
Seeing this, Yoo Hee-yeon immediately assumed he had loaded an anti-magic detection round and sneered.
“Don’t tell me you’re planning to release another strange smoke and try to escape like before. Do you think I’m
stupid? I’ve already instructed someone to prepare wind magic. The moment you release that smoke, it’ll disappear
within seconds. Besides, there’s nowhere for you to run here. So just give up already.”
