Conclusion

This novel began its serialization on August 18, 2021, and officially reached its conclusion on June 18, 2023. Spanning nearly 1.5 million characters, it has been a constant companion for almost two years. Now, as it finally draws to a close, it has at last achieved a successful completion.

To be candid, my first encounter with light novels was back when I was in my first year of junior high. I vaguely recall it being around 2016. My initial foray into writing began during the summer vacation between junior high and high school—a period that was entirely a dark chapter, one I can barely bring myself to revisit now. My serious writing journey truly commenced in 2021, and honestly, completing an entire book for the first time filled me with immense excitement.

I confess my shortcomings; there was even a period where I let things fall by the wayside. To put it bluntly, I simply slacked off back then, embracing a complete lack of effort. Yet, I eventually managed to finish the updates, albeit intermittently, and then completed the rest in one fell swoop, which required me to pause updates for about a week.

Although my writing might not always be polished, and low-level errors like typos sometimes crept in, stumbling forward, it has finally reached its conclusion. That, in itself, is a rather joyous occasion. (Pardon my thick skin.)

At last, I can take a break for a while and, in the interim, re-conceptualize the main plot for my next project.

As for the timing of this new project, it will likely be during the summer vacation, though more probably after the summer, around September.

Naturally, the plot for the new project will feature the much-anticipated trope of a yandere female lead and a male lead, both transmigrating.

Alright, alright, enough with the chatter. First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the esteemed readers who have followed along to this point. Without your unwavering support, I would never have made it this far.

While there have been a fair number of voices criticizing me for dissatisfying plot points—after all, in writing, I am undeniably a complete novice—I certainly have many shortcomings and flaws. I am, however, diligently working to improve upon these deficiencies.

As for those who directly insulted me, I personally don’t mind; it’s harmless, after all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I simply cannot satisfy every single reader of this book. After all, I am a very easygoing, socially anxious young person, and I feel my writing content and style aren’t particularly mainstream or widely popular.

However, for the next project, I intend to change my style and try my hand at something more mainstream. The male lead in the next story will absolutely not be a completely helpless, spineless pushover.

I have been continuously working to rectify the issues mentioned above, striving to ensure they are not repeated in my next work.

Nevertheless, I must offer my final thanks to all the venerable readers who have accompanied me on this journey. Without your support, I doubt I would have reached this stage. For that, I once again humbly express my profound gratitude to everyone who has read until the very end.

Regarding the plot, this book actually carries many of my subjective impressions of human emotions. I’ve always believed that people are creatures controlled by subjective feelings and emotions. Therefore, in terms of emotion, I amplified human desires, especially the female leads’ possessiveness towards the male lead, expanding it greatly.

After all, every action is driven by a significant purpose, so I chose to endlessly magnify the desires within the hearts of the characters in this book.

Particularly, I merged everyone’s yearning for love and happiness with human desire.

(Of course, this might just be my chuunibyou overthinking; if it feels wrong, feel free to scold me—I absolutely won’t argue, a playful disclaimer.)

This, then, formed the core structure of the book, unfolding around the desires deep within the human soul. Personally, I believe it was precisely this framework that led me towards the darker style of the later chapters.

As for the character Liu Ningning, I initially intended to kill her off completely. Indeed, I planned for her to be tortured to death by Xiao Xubai, as this would intensify the male lead’s hatred for Xiao Xubai. The more the male lead detested Xiao Xubai, the less he could forgive them, especially since my ultimate plan was to thoroughly ‘torment’ the character of Xiao Xubai.

However, I ultimately chose not to pursue that path. After all, being tortured to death by Xiao Xubai would be far too cruel. I’m not so morbidly dark as to write about someone being tortured to death in a detached, mundane manner. Additionally, I didn’t want to kill off any characters in this book, or rather, any characters I had created, so I eventually gave up on that idea.

In truth, I deliberated for a long time between a good ending and a bad ending. After all, my initial intention was to completely kill off the male lead of this book, Luo Yao. Yet, after much consideration, I abandoned that idea as well, for I didn’t want anyone to die in this story.

Even though my final style leaned towards a dark and somber tone, I still found myself reluctant to have the male lead die by suicide. The thought of a final scene where they all perished together felt truly agonizing to me. Thus, I ultimately opted for an ending where the male lead accepted everything and lived together with all the female leads.

Of course, as I write this conclusion, I have no way of knowing whether the esteemed readers who have reached this point are satisfied with this ending.

As for the extras, to be honest, I had intended to write them, but during the main story’s buildup, various suggestive elements led to reports, so the matter of the male lead’s descendants was directly shelved. [Ah, I’m completely numb.]

However, if the opportunity arises in the future, I might complete the storyline concerning the daughters, but that is a matter for another time.

Finally, if any of you are unsatisfied, please feel free to voice your opinions in the comment section. I will do my best to address issues I can resolve, and as for insults, I can simply choose to ignore them. I generally read comments and complaints, but due to my social anxiety, I won’t reply. (A classic ‘read but no reply,’ right?)

Alright, alright, in closing, I once again thank everyone for reading this far. The story of this book seems to have reached its conclusion, marking an end to the two years we’ve spent together. In the time to come, I will continue to improve my writing skills, striving not to disappoint anyone, and I hope you’ll be understanding of any imperfections.

I wish all my esteemed readers a happy life, smooth work, and successful studies. With that, I bid farewell to this book for now, hoping we meet again in the next project!
