Unexpected Transformation

The dull yellow sunlight filtered through the curtains, seeping into the room in thin streaks. My eyes, irritated and swollen, slowly opened to the world. I sat up in bed, my expression wooden, feeling a strange heaviness in my mind and a lack of strength throughout my body. The night’s sleep had not rejuvenated me but instead left me feeling lethargic and weak.

In a daze, I left the bedroom and, out of habit, made my way to the bathroom to splash some cold water on my face. Then, I noticed something was off. The sink—how had it grown so much taller overnight?
