The Peculiarities of the God Realm

Chapter 13 • 936 words • 8 min read

The train tracks were laid in the sky, surrounded by countless clouds. Looking down, cities gradually shrank below, while ahead, the tracks stretched endlessly, shimmering with golden light, a truly magnificent sight.

Yet, these train tracks felt incredibly out of place! The Heavenly Path, meant to lead gracefully to the God Realm, was inexplicably transformed into this, a testament perhaps to the God Realm’s peculiar sense of humor…

Utilizing the journey time, I inquired,

“Agent, what is the general structure of the God Realm? Specifically, its personnel and stratification?”

God’s Agent leaned back in her chair, sipping her juice.

“The God Realm, well, its stratification can be considered strict, yet also not strict, as gods are all distinct. Broadly, it’s divided into Winged Deities and Wingless Deities.”

“The difference between these two races is that Wingless Deities are inherently formed from order itself, while Winged Deities use a physical body as a vessel to carry the power of order.”

She took another sip of juice, then slowly continued.

“Generally, Winged Deities are beings from the lower realms who achieve godhood after meeting certain conditions. Like you, for instance; your wings serve as a medium for communicating with the power of order in this space.”

“Wingless Deities, on the other hand, are born gods, their entire beings composed of the power of order. The advantage for Winged Deities is that their faith is immortal, and their physical bodies are indestructible.”

“Wingless Deities can transform into the order of heaven and earth, significantly enhancing their ability to communicate with order. Both have their advantages, making it difficult to declare one superior.”

“However, among high-ranking deities, Winged Deities generally find it challenging to defeat Wingless Deities, as those enhanced communication abilities are truly formidable. Yet, similarly, Wingless Deities find it difficult to completely eradicate Winged Deities. Who can truly say which is better or worse?”

I nodded.

“So, as long as Liu Han maintains my faith, I’ll be immortal?”

God’s Agent nodded.

“Theoretically, yes, but certain special circumstances cannot be ruled out.”

“Are there any other classifications?” I asked again.

“Beneath the Winged and Wingless Deities, there are also Light Deities, Dark Deities, Beast Gods, Evil Gods, and then there are Attribute Deities, like yourself.”

“Among these, Attribute Deities are the rarest. Typically, each Attribute Deity is a major figure in their own right.”

“As the name suggests, Attribute Deities are gods who preside over a specific attribute, and crucially, there is only one deity for each attribute. For example, you, Moe God, preside over the ‘moe’ attribute.”

A strange sense of embarrassment washed over me when she mentioned I presided over the ‘moe’ attribute.

“Beast Gods are deities who derive their power from a specific type of beast. Light Deities and Dark Deities are the most common divine races.”

“One draws power from light, the other from darkness. Do note, they are not as incompatible as you humans might imagine; in the God Realm, the relationship between light and darkness is quite harmonious.”

“Finally, there are Evil Gods. They are entities that exist outside the God Realm’s established system, neither strictly good nor evil, acting solely on their impulses.”

“However, they are generally expelled from the God Realm, with few remaining, though we reluctantly classify them as deities due to their divine nature.”

I generally understood, then asked, “So, are there ranks or anything similar?”

She nodded.

“Naturally, there are. They are broadly divided into High-ranking Deities, Mid-ranking Deities, Low-ranking Deities, and Divine Servants. You are a High-ranking Deity.”

My eyes lit up. “So, I’m that powerful?”

“Then, wouldn’t that make me incredibly formidable?” I asked.

She looked at me, scoffing dismissively.

“I am a Divine Servant. Do you believe I could utterly crush you? I’d absolutely beat you until you were spitting teeth.”

My expression stiffened.

“Then, what’s the point of this classification?”

She glanced at me.

“You’re merely a watered-down High-ranking Deity, propelled upwards by your immense power of faith. Being a battle-five-scum is perfectly normal.”

I looked at her, my face a picture of dejection and sorrow.

Seeing my crestfallen appearance, she seemed to realize her words were inappropriate and quickly offered comfort.

“You’re not entirely useless, you know. After all, you’re merely an Illusion God, so not being skilled in combat is fine.”

“Wouldn’t it be better to use your immense divine power to be a top-tier healer? Do you realize there are currently only four High-ranking Illusion Gods in the entire God Realm, and they are all truly renowned figures!”

Upon hearing this, I perked up, eagerly pressing for more.

“Who are these renowned figures?”

She slowly enumerated them.

“Though they are all quite distant from you, there’s no harm in telling you. First is the Goddess of Life, second is the God of Kindness, third is Aklys, the Night Goddess, one of the Seven Divine Lords.”

“And the fourth is Eternal Mist—Sen.”

I felt a touch of self-satisfaction. ‘It seems I’m still quite formidable after all.’

Suddenly, something dawned on me, and I posed a question to God’s Agent.

“What is your name?”

She paused, then lowered her head, speaking softly after a long silence.

“Just call me Ji.”

I knew this wasn’t her real name, but I presumed she had her reasons, and I wasn’t in the habit of prying into others’ secrets.

Then came the crucial part. I gazed into her eyes, waiting until she became visibly uncomfortable before I spoke.

“So, Miss Ji,” I began, “why did you insist on writing me as a girl, and as an Illusion God? What exactly do you gain from this?”
