A Volatile Period

Chapter 34866 words8 min read

Bai Qiao emerged awkwardly, tugging at the hem of her skirt, her face flushed crimson. This was a stark contrast to her earlier defiant and arrogant demeanor. To witness her transform from a state almost akin to a man into a bashful young woman was truly a delight. Bai Chen, having returned to the room, watched Bai Qiao with a smile in his eyes.

Noticing Bai Chen’s gaze, Bai Qiao’s face instantly turned a deep, almost bleeding crimson, yet she glared back fiercely.

“Wh-what are you looking at?!”

Unable to meet Bai Chen’s eyes any longer, Bai Qiao abruptly turned her head away.

“Hmm… are you angry?”

Bai Chen leaned close to Bai Qiao’s ear, speaking softly. Hearing his words, all of Bai Qiao’s emotions suddenly surged. To be inexplicably transported to this unfamiliar world, a place where she knew no one, transformed into a woman, and then even teased—it was infuriating! Absolutely infuriating!!!

A wave of uncontrollable fury washed over her. Bai Qiao reached out and violently shoved Bai Chen, who stood behind her. Her internal energy, now almost comparable to Bai Chen’s previous strength, combined with the fact that most of Bai Chen’s own internal energy was suppressed and he was unprepared, sent him sprawling to the ground.

The maid behind them gasped in shock. The White King… the exalted White King, who in many eyes seemed almost otherworldly, was now sprawled on the ground, pushed down so ignominiously by a woman. Such a scene was beyond the maid’s wildest dreams. After several stunned seconds, she finally reacted, rushing forward to help Bai Chen up.

“Your Majesty, are… are you alright?”

A flicker of regret touched Bai Qiao’s heart. ‘Why had she done that? This was the only person she knew in this place, the only one who had taken her in. Why treat him like this?’ Yet, her anger still clouded her judgment. Without turning to look at Bai Chen, she began smashing all the porcelain objects in front of her. ‘Why… why have I never been this furious before…’

Watching Bai Qiao’s destructive display, Bai Chen felt a surge of irritation himself. Even though he had been good to her, it didn’t mean she could act so wantonly. Considering his own pride, and the indignity of having just been pushed to the ground, his frustration intensified. He rose, reaching out as if to grab Bai Qiao, but was restrained by the maid at his side. Bai Chen cast a dark, ominous look at the maid.

The maid involuntarily shivered, her body instantly rigid. It felt as though any movement might lead to her annihilation by Bai Chen’s murderous aura. Nevertheless, she mustered her courage and spoke in a low voice.

“Your… Your Majesty… please calm down. You might not know, but during a woman’s physiological period, their emotions can easily spiral out of control. This is quite normal.”

“………”

For once, Bai Chen actually calmed down despite his anger, a hint of helplessness in his eyes. The earlier irritation vanished, replaced by an expression of amusement or perhaps anticipation. Only when Bai Qiao seemed to tire did he speak, a playful tone in his voice.

“Want more? I can find you some more porcelain to smash…”

“………”

Dropping the last piece of porcelain she held, Bai Qiao pushed past Bai Chen and bolted out.

Standing in the garden, observing the surrounding scenery, a strange sensation emanated from below. The feeling of warm liquid continuously flowing… ‘Ah… This sensation worsened Bai Qiao’s mood considerably, her face remaining flushed. It’s so uncomfortable, so uncomfortable… No…’

Unable to resist, she felt an urge to smash everything around her, as if only through destruction could she alleviate her feelings. Growing increasingly agitated, Bai Qiao began to wreak havoc on the garden.

“Crack!”

Trees toppled, affected by the internal energy emanating from Bai Qiao… The scenery around her became a chaotic mess…

“Huu, huu…”

She stopped, panting heavily. Although her stamina had significantly decreased since transforming into a female body, she had never felt this weak. The intense exertion made the strange sensation below even more pronounced, and… ‘Ugh! It hurts! It… hurts…’

Bai Qiao clutched her abdomen, squatting on the ground. The intense exertion and wildly fluctuating emotions had made the abdominal pain far worse than previous times. ‘Ah…’ Her vision blurred, and her body grew weak. Bai Qiao felt herself uncontrollably toppling forward, only to fall into a familiar, warm embrace.

“Ugh…”

It felt as though she hadn’t slept for long, but Bai Qiao opened her eyes again, her mood significantly improved after a rest.

Hearing the sound of the door, Bai Qiao turned her head to look. The maid approached respectfully.

“Miss, you needn’t blame yourself. These are normal occurrences; emotional instability during your physiological period is quite common…”

“Wait! What ‘physiological period’?”

“Uh, Miss, for the sake of your health, I still must say…”

“Don’t you dare say it!”

“Miss, during your physiological period, you shouldn’t get too angry, and you shouldn’t exercise excessively…”

“Enough!”

“You shouldn’t eat cold or spicy foods…”

“Stop! That’s enough, enough!”

“You should drink more brown sugar water, it’s beneficial for…”

“Aaaah! Get out!”
