Lin Yi nodded, indicating he understood. Qin Ruoxue’s words held about ninety percent credibility. She knew Ling Qianwu, the Vice President of the Student Council, so Qin Ruoxue likely got her information from her.
The Vice President of the Student Council was a petite girl, barely over 1.5 meters tall. In the original novel, she didn’t have much plot relevance, only catching the male lead and Chen Sishi twice when they were dating.
After she resigned from her position, she was no longer mentioned in the book. This period seemed to be the very day the male lead and Chen Sishi were caught.
Given the current storyline, Lin Yi wouldn’t have any contact with her, so he wasn’t afraid in the slightest.
As time passed, the classroom gradually filled with students.
At the classroom entrance, a silver-haired girl, her small satchel slung over her shoulder, puffed out her cheeks and marched directly towards Lin Yi’s seat.
Lin Yi was still engrossed in his exercises when a delicate hand suddenly slapped his desk. His writing hand froze, and he looked up at the newcomer.
The moment he saw the beautiful silver hair, Lin Yi knew exactly who it was. A flicker of panic arose in his heart: ‘She couldn’t be here about the miniature camera, could she?’
“Lin Yi, why didn’t you wait for me today? I almost arrived late!”
Fortunately, things didn’t escalate to the worst-case scenario. Chen Sishi didn’t break through that unspoken barrier. Yet, her eyes blazed with a fury that seemed ready to devour Lin Yi whole.
Lin Yi recoiled under her gaze, shrinking his neck. That murderous stare was truly unbearable.
“I woke up early today, so I came a bit sooner. Next time, I’ll definitely remind you.”
Hearing his explanation, Chen Sishi angrily turned her head away, muttering softly under her breath.
“Can’t you at least offer some compensation?”
Lin Yi’s mouth twitched. ‘Compensation for Chen Sishi? If I actually gave her something, I might just lose everything.’
Seeing Lin Yi remain silent, Chen Sishi puffed out her cheeks again, returning sullenly to her seat alone.

The first class of the morning was taught by their homeroom teacher, Liang Rumeng. Lin Yi felt too awkward to sleep during her lesson, so he decided to genuinely study the culture of this world.
The class proved quite easy. The language arts curriculum here not only covered literary works but also taught writing and speaking techniques, all of which were practical skills applicable in daily life.
As the bell rang, Liang Rumeng finished her lecture. Once she exited the classroom, a flurry of discussions erupted amongst the students.
Some talked about studies, others about games, and some even gossiped about Lin Yi and Chen Sishi.
From the sound of it, a few female classmates were involved. Fortunately, their gossip was superficial, so it wasn’t a major issue.
As Lin Yi tidied the books on his desk, he noticed Li Yan furtively hunched over nearby. Li Yan’s head rested on the desk, his hands concealed beneath.
This posture was all too familiar to Lin Yi; it was exactly how he used to secretly play on his phone during class.
A mischievous grin curved Lin Yi’s lips, and a wicked idea sparked in his mind. He quietly stood up, circled behind Li Yan, and then sharply slapped his shoulder.
“What are you looking at? Still secretly playing on your phone today?”
Li Yan flinched violently, nearly sending his phone flying.
“Ah, Brother Lin, you scared me to death!”
“What are you so engrossed in? Let me see.”
Lin Yi stretched his neck, peering over as he spoke. Li Yan’s phone screen was a dizzying blur of bullet comments; Lin Yi could only discern that it was a gaming video.
“Hey, Brother Lin, I’m learning how to build a fortress. The house we built before couldn’t withstand a large-scale zombie horde at all. I want to figure out what the problem is.”
“Alright, alright, I won’t bother you then.”
Lin Yi sighed helplessly. ‘If he likes watching it, let him. As long as the Student Council doesn’t catch him.’
As Lin Yi thought this, he looked up, and his peripheral vision caught sight of a petite girl, barely over 1.5 meters tall. ‘Oh no, it couldn’t be this coincidental, could it?’
In that fleeting glance, the girl’s delicate and exquisite profile was fully revealed to Lin Yi.
Her eyes were a beautiful violet, her phoenix-like gaze giving off a seductive yet dangerous aura. The white sailor uniform she wore seemed a bit too large for her, and her skirt was rather long, making her look like a child playing dress-up in adult clothes.
As for her chest, one wouldn’t even notice anything there without a careful look; she was practically a ‘flat princess.’
Sensing Lin Yi’s gaze, she turned her head to glance over. Thankfully, from her angle, she couldn’t see Li Yan, or else that one look would have landed him a public reprimand from the entire school.
Watching her leave, Lin Yi finally breathed a sigh of relief. He poked Li Yan’s side, reminding him.
“Be careful. If the Student Council catches you later, you’re in for it.”
“I know, I know. What’s the Student Council even good for?”
Li Yan impatiently waved his hand, not wanting to hear Lin Yi’s nagging. Just as he was about to push Lin Yi aside, a fragrant breeze wafted past.
Before Li Yan could react, a small hand slammed down on his desk.
“The Student Council is nothing? You’re quite arrogant, aren’t you?”
“And playing on your phone in school, who gave you permission for that?”
The girl’s clear and stern voice lingered in their ears. The petite girl stood before Li Yan’s desk, hands on her hips, her expression serious.
Lin Yi subtly took a step back, as if to say, ‘This has nothing to do with me.’ She didn’t look at Lin Yi, her gaze fixed on Li Yan’s hand beneath the desk.
“Ah? V-Vice President of the Student Council! I… I just…”
Li Yan was so terrified he could barely speak. He darted a glance at Lin Yi, hoping his ‘Brother Lin’ would offer some advice.
But Lin Yi stood casually to the side, humming an unknown tune, as if he hadn’t noticed anything.
“Hand over the phone.”
Ling Qianwu impatiently tapped the desk, then reached for Li Yan’s phone. Of course, Li Yan couldn’t give it to her, so he instinctively pushed his phone further into his desk.
“Um… Vice President, could you perhaps make an exception? I’ll treat you to lunch.”
At this, Ling Qianwu raised an eyebrow, pinning Li Yan against the back of his chair with one hand.
“Oh, really? Bribing the Student Council? That’s an aggravated offense. Just wait for your school-wide reprimand.”
With that, Ling Qianwu snatched the phone and walked straight out of the classroom.
“Damn it, my phone!”
A shriek, like that of a slaughtered pig, echoed through the entire classroom. Lin Yi couldn’t bear to be associated with him.
He quietly distanced himself from the wailing Li Yan, pretending not to know the guy at all. Including this time, Li Yan’s phone had been confiscated twice.
The last time was by Qin Ruoxue, but she hadn’t been in the mood to deal with him then, allowing him to escape. This time, he was caught by the Vice President of the Student Council, making the difficulty of retrieving his phone exponentially higher.
Returning from the restroom, Qin Ruoxue heard Li Yan’s wails from afar. She stepped into the classroom, casting a curious glance towards their seats.
“What happened to him?”
Lin Yi shrugged, stating blandly.
“Playing on his phone and insulting the Student Council. The Vice President caught him red-handed.”
With Lin Yi’s description, Qin Ruoxue mentally reconstructed the events. ‘That Li Yan really deserved it,’ she thought, even she couldn’t help but feel he had it coming.
However, he was still Lin Yi’s brother. To win over Lin Yi, she would first need to approach those close to him.
