The Demonic Seed and the Trembling Mermaid

Chapter 361,465 words13 min read

Xiyue’s hand, clenched at Su Xiaoxiao’s waist, tightened with cruel intent.

“Xiyue! Xiyue!”

“Ah!!”

Su Xiaoxiao shrieked in pain. A searing agony intensified in her lower abdomen, as if she had been wounded once more.

Fearing for the little fish-spawn in her womb, Su Xiaoxiao desperately pushed at Xiyue.

Alas, the disparity between them was too vast; her struggles were no more than a tickle to Xiyue.

‘It hurts so much, so much…’

Her lower abdomen throbbed with excruciating pain, and cold sweat drenched Su Xiaoxiao’s inner garments.

Su Xiaoxiao was beyond tears, her vision blurring. Xiyue, still agitated and unsatisfied, yearned for the blissful sensation of their complete union.

Su Xiaoxiao’s skin was fair; in mere moments, Xiyue had already bruised her waist purple.

Xiyue disregarded Su Xiaoxiao’s pregnancy entirely, still intent on forcing open that crevice.

Su Xiaoxiao was too tense; fear had made her body rigid, which only further frustrated Xiyue, causing her discomfort.

Just as she was about to faint from the pain, Su Xiaoxiao suddenly thought, ‘If Xiyue truly gets her way, my little fish-spawn in my belly will surely be lost.’

Somehow, she found a surge of strength, suddenly lashing out like a madwoman, scratching and clawing at Xiyue. “Let go! Let go of me!!!”

Annoyed by her clamor, Xiyue raised her hand and struck Su Xiaoxiao’s arm. “Stop moving! Be still!”

*Crack!* The sound was sharp and clear.

Su Xiaoxiao fell silent for only a moment, then resumed struggling and twisting her body with even fiercer intensity than before.

Xiyue reached out to restrain her, but Su Xiaoxiao suddenly opened her mouth and bit down hard on Xiyue’s hand.

Xiyue felt no pain, yet her brow furrowed, and the anger in her heart intensified.

With a gentle wave of her large hand, the bed curtains descended as if alive, coiling around Su Xiaoxiao’s wrists and ankles, rendering her utterly immobile.

The posture she was forced into was utterly humiliating: her arms spread wide across the bed, her legs splayed upwards in a wide V.

Xiyue was now exceptionally volatile, her movements swift and brutal.

Su Xiaoxiao felt herself bleeding. Terror seized her; her body trembled violently, and bound as she was, she could not struggle. Her heart was consumed by fear and dread, convinced her little fish-child was about to leave her.

“Wuwu…”

“It hurts… so much…”

“Cough, cough… My belly hurts so much…”

She began to cough again. The damage to her heart-lung spiritual meridians was no minor matter; coughing so violently would only worsen her condition.

Xiyue felt as if a basin of cold water had been poured over her, instantly sobering her. Her pupils widened slightly as she gazed at Su Xiaoxiao, who was crying out in pain and tears beneath her, feeling as though something had struck her heart with tremendous force.

She ceased her actions. Indeed, a vivid crimson stained the bed.

Su Xiaoxiao coughed until she was nearly breathless, her sobs uncontrollable.

Xiyue immediately withdrew the bed curtains. Then, she scooped up Su Xiaoxiao and channeled spiritual energy into her. As her lower abdomen was warmed by the spiritual energy, the demonic fetus received nourishment and ceased its torment of Su Xiaoxiao. The plummeting pain that had almost caused her to faint gradually receded.

The demonic fetus clung to Xiyue’s spiritual energy, its mother’s power, which in turn made Su Xiaoxiao nestle unwillingly in Xiyue’s embrace, her fingers unconsciously clutching Xiyue’s lapel, refusing to let go.

Su Xiaoxiao was still whimpering, her small face utterly devoid of color, pale to the point of translucence.

She had shed many tears, yet Xiyue noticed that the pearls formed were remarkably few, a stark contrast to when she first encountered Su Xiaoxiao. This was highly abnormal.

Xiyue lowered her gaze, seeing Su Xiaoxiao curled small and frail in her arms. A feeling of pity and reluctance unexpectedly bloomed within her.

‘Very well, then.’

Her palm rested on Su Xiaoxiao’s lower abdomen, channeling spiritual energy, as she thought, ‘I’ll let this demonic seed remain for a while longer.’

After a long while, Su Xiaoxiao’s sobs ceased, yet she continued to tremble weakly.

Seeing that Su Xiaoxiao seemed utterly terrified, Xiyue’s voice softened, almost imperceptibly, when she spoke. “Is there anywhere else you feel unwell?”

Just moments ago, she had intended to eradicate the demonic seed from Su Xiaoxiao’s body, which was the cause of the excruciating pain in Su Xiaoxiao’s lower abdomen.

Now that she had stopped and provided spiritual energy to soothe her, Su Xiaoxiao was naturally much better.

Still, Xiyue remained unsure if Su Xiaoxiao felt discomfort anywhere else.

She asked Su Xiaoxiao, who then lifted her gaze. Her clear, beautiful pale blue eyes were brimming with tears, and her tightly pursed lips could not conceal her sorrow. Tears streamed down her face like water from an open faucet.

Su Xiaoxiao choked out, “It hurts, everywhere hurts…”

In truth, it wasn’t as severe as she claimed. However, having spent a long time with Xiyue, Su Xiaoxiao had gradually come to understand her temperament. She feared that if she said she was fine, Xiyue would unleash her primal desires once more. If it happened again, the little fish-spawn in her belly would truly be lost, and what would she do then?!

With Su Xiaoxiao crying out in such a pitiful, wronged manner, Xiyue brushed her damp, scattered hair behind her ear. She held Su Xiaoxiao even tighter, and, uncharacteristically, offered a comforting word. “Close your eyes and rest for a bit. I’ll have Gu Yan come take a look at you.”

Su Xiaoxiao shook her head. She had indeed felt terrible earlier, but now she was better.

Even stranger, she should have been terrified of Xiyue, yet now she clung to her, unwilling to let go. It was as if only in Xiyue’s embrace could she feel safe. But why?

This unhealthy dependency, this sickness—Su Xiaoxiao was frightened by her own thoughts.

‘What is wrong with me? Xiyue is clearly the biggest culprit!’

Su Xiaoxiao was merely a three-hundred-year-old little mermaid, with a rather simple mind, unable to fathom the reason.

Her compliance, however, significantly calmed Xiyue’s agitated mood.

She rested her hand on Xiyue’s back, still channeling spiritual energy into her.

Xiyue said, “Sleep.”

Su Xiaoxiao was utterly exhausted. Between crying, the pain, and scratching and biting Xiyue, her stamina had long been depleted. Almost as soon as Xiyue uttered those two words, her consciousness began to drift.

Only after she was deeply asleep did Xiyue release her, turning to examine Su Xiaoxiao’s waist.

The area she had just gripped was now a terrifying expanse of purple and blue.

Xiyue’s eyes were cold as her finger lightly tapped Su Xiaoxiao’s lower abdomen. She vowed ruthlessly, “Next time, I will definitely get rid of you.”

The little fish was angry again, and had begun to hide from her.

When merfolk sense danger, their natural instinct is to hide; this is especially true for pregnant merfolk.

Last night, Xiyue had acted viciously, causing Su Xiaoxiao abdominal pain and bleeding, so it was natural for her to hide.

She wouldn’t speak to Xiyue. Aside from sipping some water, she refused to eat properly, simply curling up on the bed like a little fish ball.

Xiyue had initially tried to intimidate her with a stern face, deliberately saying in a cold voice, “Why are you lying there? Have you forgotten how to serve as a s*ave?”

Su Xiaoxiao’s whimpering, clinging cries of pain while curled in Xiyue’s arms yesterday had indeed pleased Xiyue.

Rather than wanting Su Xiaoxiao to get up and serve her, Xiyue simply didn’t want her to remain dejected in bed, refusing to eat.

However, unwilling to pamper the little fish, and accustomed to speaking from a position of authority, her good intentions had been warped into harshness.

Su Xiaoxiao threw back the covers, looking utterly wronged. She stared blankly at Xiyue for a long moment before finally saying, “You’re too cruel. In my tribe, no merman… partner is so inconsiderate.”

She didn’t articulate those two words clearly, leaving Xiyue confused. Xiyue merely took it as Su Xiaoxiao throwing a tantrum and insisted she get up.

But after only a few bites, Su Xiaoxiao’s brows furrowed, and she began to dry heave. This sight actually startled Xiyue.

There was nothing in Su Xiaoxiao’s stomach; she only brought up some water. Her body was so exhausted, almost to the point of collapse, that she couldn’t even stand.

Xiyue quickly carried her back to bed. Just as she was about to speak, Su Xiaoxiao pulled the blanket over herself, turned her back, and once again became the little fish ball she had been.

“I don’t want to talk to you anymore…”
