Jing’s bedroom was located on the second floor of the small wooden cabin. Given the cabin’s age, the wooden stairs invariably creaked, despite Jing’s efforts to tread lightly.
Grandma Ila, hearing the familiar creaking from the stairs, greeted Jing with a warm smile.
“It’s Jing,” she called out, “You’re up early again today, but breakfast will be a little while longer, dear.”
Before Jing could even open her mouth to reply to Grandma Ila, Umi’s sweetly innocent voice chimed in first. “It’s no problem at all!” Umi exclaimed. “Drinking Grandma Ila’s porridge every morning fills us with happiness for the whole day! Right, Jing?”
Jing descended the stairs, unburdening herself of the two long blades from her back and setting them beside her usual seat. She then settled down obediently, her face beaming with delight. “Mm! Of course,” she affirmed, “Jing loves Grandma Ila’s egg porridge the most!”
When Jing was first taken in by Grandpa Joseph and Grandma Ila, she had eagerly wanted to assist Grandma Ila with cooking and other chores. However, after shattering an untold number of plates, Jing finally conceded defeat, realizing she was truly unsuited for the sacred space of the kitchen.
She had even shed a few secret tears over this realization. Consequently, at every meal, Jing would sit quietly in her designated spot, just as she was doing now, patiently awaiting Grandma Ila’s delicious food.
As Jing sat quietly, a scent wafted from today’s egg porridge, subtly different from usual. While Grandma Ila’s egg porridge always possessed a rich aroma, today’s was particularly unique, making Jing’s stomach rumble with eager anticipation.
“Grandma Ila,” Jing remarked, “Today’s egg porridge smells so wonderful~”
Grandma Ila chuckled, her gaze softening as she looked at Jing, who sat upright with her hands on her lap, much like a diligent schoolchild. “Hehe, you truly are Jing,” she said, “But today’s isn’t egg porridge, dear; it’s Uli Rib Porridge.”
“That’s why it simmered a bit longer than usual, allowing the Uli ribs’ flavor to permeate the porridge more thoroughly.”
Umi, hearing an unfamiliar term, excitedly exclaimed. “Uli Ribs? What are those? They sound absolutely delicious! Ribs! Ribs! Jing! Jing! I want some too! I want some too!”
Jing raised her hand, gently patting the little yellow chick hairpin nestled on her head. “Umi!” she said with an amused tone, “Even though you can talk, you can’t eat, you know~ But I’ll eat your share for you!”
Recalling the events of that day, Grandma Ila gently moved to Jing’s side. She softly stroked Jing’s smooth, black hair, her voice tinged with pride. “This is all thanks to Jing, you know. If you hadn’t been in the village then, that giant monster that burst from the forest would have caused significant harm to our village,” she began.
“Later, the village chief heard from an adventurer from Morgan City that the enormous monster was called a Rampaging Uli—a terrifying creature, but with incredibly delicious meat. So, the chief distributed its meat to every household. Because Jing protected the village, our family received an especially generous portion.”
“I never would have imagined that our Jing was such an amazing child, defeating that Rampaging Uli in an instant.”
Jing gently touched the long blades resting beside her seat, speaking with a hint of embarrassment. “I, I’m not that amazing~ It’s the strength my mom and dad gave me!”
Still, she mused, to think that enormous black boar was called a Rampaging Uli. What a peculiar name.
In Jing’s original world, she had never encountered such a truly colossal wild boar. When she first witnessed that immense black boar bursting from the forest, smashing through the village fence, Jing had been terrified.
However, her concern for the villagers’ safety spurred her to action. She seized her two long blades and charged towards the rampaging beast.
Jing’s former world was one of profound peace, yet this peace extended only to relations between people. Her previous world, much like this one, harbored fierce beasts, and under her parents’ tutelage, Jing had personally slain many dangerous animals that threatened lives.
Consequently, she felt no strong aversion to killing beasts that posed a threat. Thus, despite her fear, when faced with the colossal boar that could harm the villagers, Jing charged forward without hesitation.
Jing’s two long blades were no ordinary weapons. They were the embodiment of her parents, the two strongest individuals in her former world, forged by sacrificing their very essence.
The long blade with the blue hilt was the weapon formed from Jing’s father, named [Sever]. Its singular, extraordinary power was to sever everything—be it matter, space, or even time itself.
The long blade with the red hilt was the weapon formed from Jing’s mother, named [Pierce]. Its unique ability was to penetrate everything, not by piercing through, but by passing through like light, air, or sound, possessing the power to permeate all.
While [Sever] and [Pierce] could no longer evolve, they were weapons forged at the cost of the very essence of Jing’s parents, who once stood at the pinnacle of their world. Should Soronna ever lay eyes on these two long blades, she would discover that the energy they contained surpassed even Domu’s [Divine Suppression].
To call them divine artifacts would be no exaggeration.
Gazing at the colossal boar rampaging through the village, Jing placed her hand on the red hilt. In the very next instant, Jing’s figure surged forward, directly into the path of the charging beast.
The blade of [Pierce] in Jing’s hand seemed woven from countless strands of light. As Jing accelerated, this luminous blade carved a dazzling beam of light across the air.
The villagers’ vision was obscured by the dust churned up by the giant monster’s rampage. They could only vaguely perceive a momentary intersection between the immense creature and that beam of light.
Just as anxiety surged among them for Jing’s safety, a thud echoed through the air.
As the dust slowly settled, the villagers discovered the enormous, terrifying monster collapsed on the ground, blood oozing from its orifices. Jing, meanwhile, stood perfectly unharmed beside the beast, her face merely flushed with exertion.
The villagers stared in astonishment at the scene before them. After a moment of silence, their gazes turned to Jing, eyes gleaming as if they had discovered a treasure.
Their eyes seemed to flicker like incessantly blinking light bulbs, causing Jing’s face to flush crimson with embarrassment. Ultimately, it was only with Grandpa Joseph’s help that Jing was safely escorted back home.
The colossal monster, its internal organs completely shredded, remained in the village for many days. Due to its immense size, the villagers initially had no plans to process it.
It wasn’t until the village chief, with the help of an adventurer, learned that this giant monster was surprisingly delicious. Monster meat, for peculiar reasons, remained fresh and wouldn’t quickly rot even after death.
Thus, the previous story unfolded: the village chief butchered the creature, named Rampaging Uli, and distributed its meat among all the villagers.
Grandma Ila’s gentle voice pulled Jing from her reverie. “The Uli Rib Porridge is ready~ Jing, could you help me call that foolish old man over?”
Hearing Grandma Ila’s request, Jing stood up, slung the two long blades onto her back, and then confirmed Grandpa Joseph’s whereabouts. “Okay~ Grandma Ila,” she said, “Grandpa Joseph must have gone fishing by the lake again, right?”
Grandma Ila chuckled as she ladled out the porridge. “That’s right. He was rambling on early this morning about ‘catching a plump Gag fish for our Jing to nourish her body, so she develops faster.’ The old rascal has no shame!”
“Our Jing is so beautiful and cute, and while her chest and bottom are a bit small now, with some good care, she’ll definitely be able to bear a dozen plump boys! So, I didn’t stop him.”
Umi spoke with a touch of embarrassment after hearing Grandma Ila’s words. “Grandma Ila… Jing is only fifteen, you know…”
Without waiting for Grandma Ila to continue, Jing quickly pushed open the cabin door and dashed outside. “I… I’m going to find Grandpa Joseph! I’ll be back soon~”
Grandma Ila’s chiding voice drifted from the cabin. “Hehehe, that child. Don’t run so fast, be careful not to fall~”
Having dished out three bowls of rib porridge, Grandma Ila muttered to herself with a nostalgic sigh. “You know, when I was fifteen, I was already pregnant with your Grandpa Joseph’s child. It’s just a pity… alas…”
She seemed to recall something, letting out another wistful sigh, then quietly settled into her seat, patiently awaiting Jing and Grandpa Joseph’s return.
At that moment, Jing was running towards the lake where Grandpa Joseph often fished. Her cheeks were still flushed, and her mind replayed Grandma Ila’s recent words.
Jing, her voice laced with extreme shyness, asked Umi. “U… Umi, do you think when I grow up a bit more, my figure will become… become as sexy as Mom’s?”
Umi, with an air of absolute certainty, uttered words that made Jing blush. “Jing… what are you even thinking? Of course, you will! Jing is Mom’s daughter, so you’ll definitely develop a sexy figure just like Mom’s—the kind that makes Dad’s eyes go wide and straight as soon as she strips naked!”
Upon hearing Umi’s words, Jing’s face instantly turned crimson, as if smoke were rising from her head. “Oh dear… oh dear, Umi, where, where did you see… see… what… stripping… naked…”
Jing’s hands shot up to cover the little yellow chick hairpin on her head, cutting off Umi mid-sentence. “Every night, Mom strips naked, and then Dad becomes mmh… mmh-mmh… mmh-mmh-mmh…”
Once released, Umi inexplicably complained to Jing. “Bah, bah, bah… Jing, what are you doing? You almost suffocated me!”
Jing’s neck, cheeks, and ears were all bright red at this point. Her voice had become a faint whisper, and she seemed to be in a daze. “It’s just… it’s just… what Umi said… it was too… too explicit…”
Umi, convinced of her own correctness, dropped another bombshell on Jing. “But everything I said is true! And after that, Mom and Dad make all sorts of strange sounds!”
“Str… strange sounds?” Jing’s emotions were a complex mix of curiosity and dread as she asked in a hushed, red-faced voice.
“That’s right! Hmm… how to describe it, it’s like… it’s like…” Umi was racking her brain trying to find a way to describe the sounds she’d heard, when suddenly—
“Ah… mmh-ah…” A faint moan drifted from the forest beside the path.
“Ah! Like that!” Umi exclaimed happily, as if she had found the perfect example. “But… much more intense than that!”
“Eh?” Jing, having heard the sound as well, wore a look of utter surprise.
