Twilight’s Golden Glow and a Succubus’s Humiliation

Chapter 37 • 417 words • 4 min read

As twilight descended, the setting sun cast a celestial golden glow across the land, bathing the quaint Tengu City in its radiant hues.

Simultaneously, a young man and woman stood upon a high vantage point, their gazes sweeping over the breathtaking vista below.

“What a beautiful sight!”

Tohka, brimming with excitement, continuously leaned out over the safety railing, her eyes fixed on Tengu City, bathed in the lingering afterglow of the sunset.

“Indeed,” Shido murmured, “This is one of my absolute favorite views.”

Though it was not his first visit to this spot, each return allowed him to fully immerse himself in its profound beauty.

“By the way, Qianye, aren’t you joining us?”

Shido turned his head, seemingly addressing someone unseen.

“You two go ahead and enjoy the view,” Qianye’s voice called from the grass. “I just want to be alone for a bit!”

Her tone, echoing from within the tall grass, clearly conveyed a refusal of Shido’s invitation.

‘Damn it, to think I’d actually utter such humiliating words,’ Qianye fumed inwardly.

Still hidden in the grass, Qianye clutched her head in utter vexation.

This experience differed greatly from their last encounter. During that time, both Qianye and Shido had been in an unconscious, berserk state. Though memories of the event remained, the vivid sensation of it had been absent.

This time, however, both Qianye and Shido were acutely self-aware. As a succubus, Qianye had confidently believed she could easily manipulate Shido, the quintessential “herbivore” male lead. Yet, to her surprise, she had drastically underestimated him.

Much like how the most formidable land mammal is often the herbivorous elephant, not the carnivorous tiger.

Only in her fully conscious state did Qianye truly grasp that Itsuka Shido, despite being a “herbivore” protagonist, was akin to an elephant: possessing immense, flexible, and surprisingly potent attributes.

To her utter dismay, Qianye’s most primal instincts were on the verge of acknowledging Shido as her “master.”

As a succubus, whose lower instincts often guided her actions, Qianye felt an undeniable, primal urge. This wasn’t like their playful flirtations where she’d called him “master” before; this was the real deal. If she truly acknowledged him, Shido would become her actual master.

Faced with this overwhelming realization, Qianye chose to surrender, admitting defeat. Shido, in turn, managed to hold back his final impulse, effectively ceding the moment to Tohka.

Despite this, ‘little Qianye’ — her inner self — remained in a state of profound emotional shutdown.

‘Waaah, my pride is utterly shattered,’ she lamented.
