The Unsettling App and a Sister’s Desire

Chapter 42,095 words18 min read

Time seemed to freeze, leaving Chu Xin utterly stunned. He couldn’t fathom why his usually aloof, academic younger sister would utter such chuuni lines, and an inexplicable awkwardness began to spread between them.

Moreover, the patterns on Su Jin’s phone made Chu Xin feel genuinely dizzy. If it truly was a hypnosis app, then something was gravely amiss.

One of the heroines from the original eroge game possessed a hypnosis app? That was simply too strange.

Even though the blond-haired girl had already confessed to him, still… this, this was far too unsettling.

Was his presence truly altering the plot? Perhaps, as he had previously speculated, this world merely used the original’s setting as a backdrop, existing as a complete and independent reality.

Yet, the most profoundly unsettling question remained: Why would Su Jin try to hypnotize him?

While Su Jin’s gaze towards him was always peculiar, it had consistently been the kind one reserved for inanimate objects.

Chu Xin couldn’t comprehend it, and within his mind, a voice, unmistakably ‘his own,’ incessantly whispered to him:

‘My sister is the cutest creature in the world.’

‘I must obey my sister unconditionally; she is my sole deity.’

‘Wait, are these shameful words truly the deepest desires of my own heart?’ he wondered.

Though faint at first, this voice grew steadily stronger, momentarily leaving him in a daze.

Meanwhile, Su Jin, who had been observing from the side, hesitant to make a move, now allowed a strange smile to bloom on her lips.

‘It seems trusting this inexplicable hypnosis software and making such an impulsive decision was the right choice,’ she mused.

‘However… Ji Yue Xuan, was it truly wise for you to leave at this moment?’

‘Heh, no matter what, I, who has already hypnotized my brother, will ultimately emerge victorious.’

‘Rest assured, I will devour my brother completely before you two can even solidify your relationship.’

Su Jin gazed at the dazed Chu Xin, a product of her hypnosis, with immense satisfaction. She circled him once, then nodded contentedly.

‘Indeed, my brother is perfect from every angle,’ she thought.

‘Now then… since brother has come all this way, from where shall I begin to collect interest on these long-suppressed feelings?’

As her thoughts progressed, Su Jin’s breathing quickened. The cold expression on her face transformed into one of pure delight, her cheeks flushed scarlet. Just looking at Chu Xin made her feel as though her innermost emotions were on the verge of erupting.

‘Speaking of which, brother’s eyes always seem to stray to my legs and chest,’ she mused.

“Then… I’ll just punish you a little first, brother,” Su Jin murmured, licking her lips. At this point, she no longer suppressed her thoughts but voiced them directly.

‘It’s fortunate that Sister and Mother are away on a trip,’ she thought. ‘Now I can have brother all to myself.’

She swiftly removed one black over-the-knee sock, revealing a smooth, fair, and softly rounded leg.

She perched on the toilet, crossing her legs in an incredibly seductive pose. It was undeniable; her foot at that moment seemed almost edible.

Then, with eyes half-lidded, she looked at the still-dazed Chu Xin and purred, “Brother, come here first… and have a good taste~”

Yet, in the very next second, Chu Xin remained utterly motionless, still standing foolishly by the door.

Su Jin frowned slightly, completely bewildered. However, when her gaze followed Chu Xin’s, a faint smile returned to her lips. She believed she had found the answer.

‘Ah, so he wants a reward first,’ she thought. ‘Honestly, my seemingly proper brother subconsciously craves his sister’s discarded socks.’

Su Jin, of course… chose to indulge him.

She rose, picked up the over-the-knee sock, and stood before Chu Xin, intending to stuff it into his mouth. But upon seeing his incredibly alluring lips, her intention changed.

‘If something like this is going to be touched first, why not let me… have a good taste first?’ she thought.

However, just as she leaned in, Chu Xin suddenly recoiled a step, looking at Su Jin with an expression of disbelief. “S-Su Jin, what are you… doing?”

“Eh?”

‘The hypnosis app failed here?’ she thought.

Su Jin’s mind went blank; she had no idea what to do. ‘Brother must have seen what I was trying to do. What now, what now, what now?!’

Another thought quickly flashed through her mind: ‘Should I just confess everything to brother right now?’

But she swiftly dismissed it. ‘No… that would probably only make brother hate me even more.’

The mind of an academic genius whirred at high speed.

Chu Xin, looking at Su Jin, who seemed startled by his sudden awakening, was also somewhat bewildered.

The hypnosis app truly seemed real. For a moment just now, he had completely lost consciousness, becoming a puppet at her mercy.

However, none of that was as important as what Su Jin had done during that blank period, why she had hypnotized him, and how he had regained consciousness.

‘Surely, she couldn’t have grown fond of me, her step-brother who just barged into her family, could she?’ he pondered.

“Su Jin… you…” Chu Xin began, deciding to ask even if he didn’t expect a straightforward answer.

But before he could finish, Su Jin cut him off. “Bro… *cough*, what are you standing there for? Can’t you see I’m about to take a bath?”

‘Just as usual,’ Chu Xin thought. ‘She’s turned the tables and taken control.’

Chu Xin had no choice but to change the subject. “Then… what’s that on your phone?”

“My phone? Why would I bring my phone to bathe? And are you going out or not?” Su Jin replied icily.

Although this might cause Chu Xin to dislike her, it was better than him discovering his own sister was a pervert.

Chu Xin didn’t press further; he simply nodded and walked out.

Su Jin watched Chu Xin return to his room, then quickly retreated to her own, eager to see his reaction. However, her computer screen was utterly blank. It was only then that she realized Ji Yue Xuan had likely discovered the app.

She gritted her teeth slightly. ‘It’s all that wretched woman’s fault!’

‘It seems I need to prepare a different plan. This hypnosis app is completely unreliable!’

Just as she was thinking this, a message popped up on the hypnosis app on her phone.

[Current hypnosis level is insufficient. Would you like to upgrade through tasks?]

Su Jin frowned, clearly still not grasping the software’s meaning, but she haphazardly tapped [Yes].

[Task 1: Find two potential ability users of this software type. Reward: Hypnosis Level upgraded to 2.]

[Task 2: Explain everything clearly to Chu Xin (Su Jin’s brother) alone. Reward: Aphrodisiac.]

Su Jin had read many such works; this was her cheat, a cheat meant for her brother. ‘No matter how you appeared or what your purpose is, as long as you can bring me and brother together… I don’t care.’

Leaning against his bedroom door, Chu Xin gasped for breath, grateful to have woken up.

Who knew what his aloof, academic younger sister might have done?

However, it seemed to be because of this.

Chu Xin stared at his phone, at the software that had replaced his original gal game simulator: “A Blond-Haired Girl’s Daily Romance with Zero Love Experience.” He was slightly stunned.

His phone had crossed over with him; why did it constantly have such strange software?

But it seemed this very thing had saved him. He remembered that just as the voice was about to completely control him, a heat emanating from his pocket had jolted him awake.

And now, he seemed to have a task issued by this software.

[Task: A formal confession to Ji Yue Xuan.]

[Time Limit: Before Monday midnight.]

[Completion Condition: Achieve a romantic relationship.]

[Completion Reward: Preliminary immunity to the Hypnosis App or a series of other eroge cheats.]

[Failure Penalty: None.]

Chu Xin stroked his chin as he read, noting that the software seemed to have transformed into a ‘system’-like cheat. The phrase “preliminary immunity to a series of other eroge cheats” was rather intriguing.

Did this imply that other apps similar to hypnosis existed? In his memory, besides hypnosis, time stop was a common one.

Would he then be able to move freely during stopped time? That would be quite powerful.

However, this task gave him a headache. He checked the time; it was already past ten minutes after ten. Ten minutes of being hypnotized felt terrifying.

Just as Chu Xin was about to ponder further, his quieted state reminded him of his hunger. He decided to go out for a bite, then head to the gym to work out while planning his evening.

Working out was a habit from his previous life. Although his skill level wasn’t high, improving his physical fitness was always a good idea.

He quickly tidied himself up and set out. While there was food at home, eating out felt better now, as he wasn’t quite ready to face Su Jin, and he needed time to think.

He recalled that since his transmigration and joining this family, he hadn’t felt this tense until now.

His mother had very few demands on the three of them. Though he didn’t know what she did for a living, she seemed quite wealthy, but certainly held a legitimate job. After all, despite being a mother of three, she still retained her maidenly charm.

Of course, this information was displayed in the simulator, but now, apart from basic details, it seemed unable to simulate anything further. He hoped it would return later.

After glancing at Su Jin’s room, he stepped out the door.

The houses here were mostly Japanese-style detached homes, not apartment buildings. The second-floor rooms were generally for four people, but only his room had a balcony. This was how his so-called ‘childhood friend,’ whose room adjoined his, could sneak in through their shared balconies late at night.

On the first floor were basic amenities like the living room and kitchen, and also a restroom, though it was rarely used. Only his mother, returning late from work and fearing she might disturb the children, would occasionally use it.

He walked out of the courtyard and onto the street. This area consisted mainly of small detached houses with only a few shops, so the pedestrian traffic wasn’t heavy.

The sunlight, gentler than usual, bathed the street, softening the entire world.

The gym wasn’t far from home, but it meant passing by his ‘childhood friend’s’ house. So, he preferred to take a detour around the single woman’s house, treating it as part of his exercise.

The city background in the original work wasn’t nearly as detailed. Chu Xin only learned after transmigrating that this place was called “Tianhai City,” the provincial capital under Shan Hai Province.

There were also “foreigners” with four or five-character names living there. While Chu Xin wasn’t very knowledgeable about geography, such characters also existed in the original work, whose background was a grand pastiche.

However, this city was peaceful, with pleasant scenery and a good climate; it was an ideal city. It would be even better if the people around were a little more normal.

Squinting his eyes as he walked past the single woman’s house, he heard a shout from her. “Little Chu Xin.”

Chu Xin turned to see a woman in a dress and a thin shawl standing at her doorway, smiling at him. The dress accentuated her voluptuous figure beautifully, making her appear curvaceous and alluring, possessing both the tenderness of a wife and her own unique charm.

She looked at Chu Xin playfully. “Little Chu Xin, Auntie’s lightbulb is out again. Could you come fix it?”

Looking at her, she showed no sign of having a broken lightbulb, and this was the fourth or fifth time the lightbulb had ‘broken’ this week. Chu Xin was about to refuse, but before he could speak,

The beautiful woman feigned a crying voice. “Alright, go on with your business then. Auntie is used to being alone anyway. Even if I get electrocuted changing a lightbulb, it’s not Little Chu Xin’s problem.”

Chu Xin’s face darkened with exasperation, and he had no choice but to agree.

Yet, seeing the single woman’s smile, which held a fatal allure rather than the innocent purity of a young girl, Chu Xin couldn’t shake off a chilling feeling.

Immunity to all cheats is boring, it removes all the interactions that come with it. Seen a story where a prince has the charm ability and the protagonist can only resist the effects, and he changes the genre to horror when he’s on screen
