Cohen took Yenika’s hand and pulled her up. The two walked hand in hand through the crowd.
They were like a beautiful scenery, and many people felt an indescribable feeling upon seeing them.
It was like a scene from their youthful aspirations.
Yenika looked at Cohen, and Cohen occasionally looked back to check on her, leaving a reassuring smile.
“Feeling better?”
Cohen comforted her, speaking with his back turned.
“Mhm… Thank you, Cohen…”
Yenika’s voice was very soft, so soft it was as if she hadn’t spoken at all.
But Cohen heard her clearly; there were only the two of them here now.
“By the way, where did Charlotte go?”
“…….”
Cohen inadvertently touched upon Yenika’s sore spot. That suffocating feeling was hard for Yenika to forget.
Yenika stepped forward, hugged Cohen’s arm, her voice trembling.
“I don’t know… I don’t know…”
As she spoke, she felt the urge to cry again.
‘What, you’re doing this too?’
‘Are my hands more popular than I am?’
But Cohen thought carefully; the plot had already deviated.
Why did Charlotte disappear at this time?
This was something he could never have predicted.
“Huh?!”
Cohen could feel an increasing suction force on his arm.
It felt like sinking into softness, the sensation becoming more real.
‘Got pinched again, damn it!’
Cohen could no longer see the outline of his arm, only a beautiful woman with matcha-colored hair beside him.
But he couldn’t push her away now; he couldn’t do that…
Cohen didn’t dare to move much; this shy feeling made him blush and his heart race.
He had to do something!
“Everyone get ready, we’re departing!”
The bell from the examination hall rang.
The magician maintaining the teleportation gate addressed the examinees, announcing that the exam was about to begin.
He no longer had time to ponder aimlessly.
Since he had already taken this step, he might as well make the best of it.
Cohen reminded Yenika, who looked up and met his dark, clear eyes.
Those eyes were so clear, so bright.
Yenika felt she could stare into them all day.
“Yenika? Are you listening to me?”
“Eek!”
Like a startled flower branch rodent puffing up, Yenika jumped and looked around frantically when Cohen jolted her back to attention.
“I mean, Yenika, the exam is starting soon, and we don’t have time to dawdle. How about we go together, just the two of us?”
“Eh? Oh!”
Yenika nodded repeatedly as she listened to Cohen.
‘She’s really so dazed,’ Cohen thought.
‘Quite cute…’
“Alright, let’s go together.” Cohen took Yenika’s hand and walked step by step towards the teleportation gate.
Yenika still looked at Cohen’s retreating back, a blush appearing on her face.
“Ooh…”
She also let out an unconscious smile.
…
Cohen felt a tiny bit of regret. He had so easily snatched away the childhood friend of the overbearing protagonist.
When she realizes he’s “eaten” the cabbage she painstakingly raised, will she come and obliterate him…?
Cohen looked back at Yenika. The moment their eyes met, Yenika flusteredly averted her gaze.
It was obvious that Yenika’s ears had turned completely red.
‘Probably because she’s shy, she’s not used to interacting with people,’ he thought.
‘Oh well, I guess I’m contributing to the protagonist’s harem. I probably won’t die.’
‘So many troublesome things have happened. Things should calm down now, right?’
After Cohen and Yenika, along with most of the other students, entered the teleportation gate.
A figure emerged from the shadows.
“Are you ready?”
“Ready, Young Master Lockheed. I’ve already sent them to a more dangerous place. They definitely won’t be able to get out.”
“Very good. I will write a letter of recommendation to the Royal Mage Corps.”
The magician maintaining the teleportation gate immediately bowed and scraped.
“Thank you, Young Master!”
Lockheed smiled faintly, his smile gradually turning sinister.
“This is the consequence of opposing me, even if you were useful to me…”
Meanwhile, in the physical education department’s combat training grounds, the sounds of fighting continued.
“What did I do to displease you, beautiful president?”
Bang!
A shot hit the ground next to Charlotte’s ear, leaving a deep crater.
“As I said, I am punishing you with disciplinary action for the crime of bullying a classmate.”
Remiande aimed and fired rapidly, while Charlotte quickly swung her sword to block the shot.
Through this battle, Charlotte realized the terrifying suppressive power of this weapon.
If she couldn’t respond with complete focus, she would likely have numerous holes in her body.
“I believe there must be some misunderstanding between us. I would never do something like bullying, which only scum would do.”
Upon hearing this, Remiande’s expression grew colder, and she fired another shot at Charlotte’s head.
Charlotte blocked this shot with “Burning Heaven,” and the immense impact of the bullet colliding with the weapon rapidly depleted Charlotte’s condition.
She couldn’t get entangled with her any longer; otherwise, she would definitely be the one to lose.
Remiande is the president of the magic department, which means she should be a mage.
She probably doesn’t have strong countermeasures for close combat.
Also, the weapon in her hand is probably just a model in terms of overall strength.
I have a foundation in physical combat, so if I can get close, I might have a chance to disarm her!
“Air Severing Slash!”
Charlotte slashed out several sword energies with “Burning Heaven,” attempting to disrupt Remiande’s vision.
But soon, a few crisp gunshots completely neutralized Charlotte’s offensive. The bullets, whistling through the air, all flew precisely towards Charlotte.
“What!”
Charlotte was forced to defend again, but she couldn’t block it completely.
Some bullets grazed her arm and face, leaving bloody wounds.
Her stamina was running out.
Remiande worked the bolt to eject the spent casing, her brow furrowed.
She didn’t have much ammunition left either.
She turned to Charlotte and smiled.
“Your footwork is quite good. You should be glad I’m using ordinary ammunition. If it were etched rounds, you’d already be dirt.”
“Thank you for the compliment…”
Dong—Dong—Dong
Both of them heard the bell signaling the start of the exam.
“Not good!”
Charlotte only then remembered that she had an exam to take.
But more importantly, she had left Yenika behind in the plaza!
“Tch, I’m sorry, little beauty. I don’t have time to waste with you anymore.” Charlotte assumed a ready stance, preparing for a decisive blow.
“If you’ve made a mistake, you should admit it, not be like this. Isn’t this good for both of us?”
Remiande wasn’t particularly concerned about the exam; whether she took it or not wouldn’t significantly impact her future.
She only had one thing to consider now.
She needed to get justice for Cohen, so…
I must defeat her here.
Charlotte began to channel her aura, combined with acceleration magic, pushing her mobility to the extreme.
Swish!
Charlotte flew like a meteor, appearing in front of Remiande within a breath’s interval.
“Fall!”
Clang!
The two items collided.
“Wh…!”
She shouldn’t have had time to fire!
No!
Remiande used the firearm in her hand to block Charlotte’s “Burning Heaven” sword.
The sword Charlotte swung at Remiande left not the slightest mark on the firearm in her hand.
“How is this possible?! Such force could instantly shatter dragon scale armor. How can you…?”
Remiande just smiled slightly.
“I never said this was a model, did I? This is my exclusive magic staff. I just gave it a little makeover. Don’t you think it looks beautiful now?”
That explained why the firearm had such hardness.
Remiande pressed Charlotte’s sword down, lifted her leg, and fiercely kicked Charlotte in the abdomen.
“Ugh—”
Charlotte took the blow, struggling to adjust her posture and create distance from Remiande.
Remiande remained standing there, elegant and composed, as if nothing had happened.
The force of that kick was extraordinary. Charlotte hadn’t expected Remiande’s close-combat skills to be so outstanding.
“Are you still going to resist stubbornly?”
Charlotte couldn’t think of any technique to break through this defense now, and time didn’t allow her to waste another second.
Unless…
Is this the only way…?
