[Omniscient Cthulhu: Alright, here comes the explanation.]
[Can’t resist a good explanation, haha.]
[Cthulhu’s explanation incoming.]
[This is it, this is it.]
[How will they explain it? So hyped right now.]
[Let’s see how thorough the explanation from Dama’s stream manager will be. Recording is ready!]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Calm down, everyone.]
[Lol, chill out, you guys.]
[The manager is way too aggressive, geez.]
After some commotion, the manager began explaining what had happened.
[Omniscient Cthulhu: So, that ranked game you played with Harin? They uploaded it to their YouTube channel.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: The video’s view count exploded.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: And that’s about it, really.]
[What? That’s it? Not a big deal after all.]
[Are you downplaying the fact that Harin’s channel, with 340k subscribers, uploaded your video?]
[It’s Harin’s channel we’re talking about. That’s no small thing.]
“Wow, not as big a deal as I thought.”
What I assumed would be a significant event turned out to be relatively mundane.
All that happened was a video of me being uploaded to Harin’s channel. That’s it.
I opened my mouth, bemused.
“Why is everyone making such a fuss? Appearing on Harin’s YouTube doesn’t change anything.”
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Of course, it changes things.]
[You’ll get a massive influx of viewers. What are you even saying?]
[Newbie streamers are always clueless about these things.]
[You’re famous now, buddy. Haha.]
[Hwanhee: But wouldn’t people watching Harin’s stream already know about Dama?]
[Harin hasn’t posted any videos about Dama before.]
[Kang Hoomin: Probably thought it was just a viral trend at first.]
Thinking back to when I first got Harin’s attention, that would make sense. I was completely unknown to them at the time.
“Hmm… But having too many viewers could be a bit much.”
It’s not like I could control the number of viewers, but I’d prefer it if it didn’t skyrocket. Too many viewers could make things less enjoyable.
Specifically, I worried about not being able to interact with them properly.
With these thoughts swirling in my mind, I spoke again.
“Even if the viewer count increases, it won’t be by much. Let’s just play the game.”
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Wait, you’re not going to check out Harin’s YouTube channel?]
[Watch Harin’s YouTube! Watch Harin’s YouTube! Watch Harin’s YouTube!]
[Not watching it? Your instincts are dull already.]
[A month-old streamer, and you’re already losing touch.]
[A two-week career at this rate, lol.]
[Hwanhee: To be fair, they never really had much instinct to begin with.]
[Kang Hoomin: Just take a quick look at YouTube first.]
As much as I wanted to dive straight into gaming, the chat was relentless.
In the past, I might have ignored them. But now, with the rapport I’d built with my viewers, ignoring them didn’t feel right.
I decided to respond with something casual.
“Why bother? The comments are probably full of people trash-talking me.”
Imagine your favorite YouTube channel suddenly featuring a new streamer of a different gender—
It was clear that I would receive some unpleasant reactions, which is why I didn’t want to watch the video.
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Why would there be hate comments about you, lol?]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: The video only had positive feedback.]
[Alright, time to go leave some hate comments myself.]
User temporarily banned!
[Harin, you little brat, why didn’t you moderate the hate against Dama? You’re dead meat, lol. Send me your email.]
[Here comes the chaos, once again.]
[Classic Dama fandom antics, haha.]
[Kang Hoomin: If chaos starts, I’ll cause some chaos in the chat myself.]
[Oh, please. You were going to stir up trouble in the chat even if no one else did.]
[Why are these people always fighting in the chat?]
Seeing the chaos in the chat made it hard to ignore.
Reluctantly, I stopped queuing for a game and opened YouTube.
Sigh “Fine, I’ll watch it just this once.”
I didn’t want to cause trouble for Harin.
Since it wasn’t a live stream but just a YouTube video, it should be fine.
My stream might be chaotic, but it wasn’t on the level of total disaster.
Harin.
When I typed “Harin” into the search bar, their channel immediately appeared.
Subscribers: 340,000.
That’s a lot.
In contrast, my YouTube channel had about two subscribers.
Who even subscribed to me? No idea.
I hardly ever commented on videos either, so it was surprising.
Curious, I clicked on the most recently uploaded video.
Judging by the clickbait thumbnail, it was obvious this was the video featuring me.
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Wow, that thumbnail is such bait, lol.]
[Well, Harin’s got to make money too.]
[Clickbait is important, you know.]
[If someone shows up, it’s better to promote it explicitly, lol.]
[Hwanhee: Lol, feels like watching some national pride content.]
[Does this even make sense?]
[Unbelievable, haha.]
[Kang Hoomin: But that’s just Harin’s streaming style.]
“They could’ve made the thumbnail cooler, though. ‘Mysterious Solo Queue Top Laner Encounter’? What’s that even supposed to mean?”
If they’d written something like ‘Hidden Master,’ it would’ve sounded cooler.
Feeling a bit disappointed, I started watching the video.
Sitting still, I watched the entire 17-minute video.
“They even used reactions from my stream.”
[Wait, did they get your permission for this? Shouldn’t they have asked?]
[For something like this, especially stream reactions, permission should be given.]
[Was permission granted?]
[Hwanhee: Probably got permission, right?]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Yeah, they asked for permission.]
[Got a DM from Harin last time.]
“Huh? Why would you give permission? I never agreed to this.”
What the heck?
I had never given my permission.
Why would they just grant permission on their own?
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Oh.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Was I not supposed to give permission?]
[Hey, idiot, if you’re going to do things your way, why don’t you run the stream?]
[Ugh, seriously, this is too much, lol.]
[Classic manager behavior, haha.]
[What’s up with that guy?]
[Why’s the manager suddenly acting up after doing fine all this time?]
It was baffling.
I hadn’t given them any authority, and yet they had made decisions on their own.
Still, I didn’t mind too much.
I would’ve granted permission anyway.
But that didn’t mean I wasn’t going to address it.
“You’ve got no manners. Even if my stream doesn’t have many viewers and the ones I do have are chaotic trolls, you should still ask for permission.
Come to think of it, why didn’t they ask me directly?”
It was strange.
Usually, you’d ask the streamer directly.
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Oh, about that.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: I sent you a DM, but you didn’t see it.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: So, they sent it to me instead.]
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Also, Harin’s editor came to ask for permission.]
[And you gave permission?]
[Oh, for crying out loud.]
[This is giving me such a headache, lol.]
[That’s definitely a high school graduate move, haha.]
[Only a high school grad would do something like that, honestly.]
[Kang Hoomin: Hang in there.]
What’s done is done.
What could I do?
“From now on, if something like this comes up, report it to me first. Don’t make decisions on your own.”
[Omniscient Cthulhu: How am I supposed to contact you when your stream is off?]
[They’ve got a point, lol.]
[You’re asking for reports, but there’s no way to reach you, haha.]
[Hwanhee: That’s a bit much…]
[Just contact them through the gallery.]
Now that I think about it, they were right.
At least the manager should have a way to contact me.
It wasn’t like the old days when I had only 20 viewers; my audience had grown tenfold since then.
It was time to create a more organized system.
“Alright, I’ll send you my chat ID later. Use that to contact me.”
Sharing my chat ID should work.
Knowing Cthulhu from the past five years, I doubted they’d leak my contact info to anyone.
[Omniscient Cthulhu: Oh, lol.]
[What are you trying to do, exchanging contact info with your manager, you perv?]
[Are there simps in this chat too?]
[Haha, the fact that there’s simping even here is hilarious.]
[From Dama’s perspective, Cthulhu doesn’t even register as a woman, lol.]
[Hwanhee: With all the dumb stuff Cthulhu has done, they’re probably not even considered human anymore, lol.]
[Kang Hoomin: Just a domesticated animal at this point.]
“Hey, stop treating people like garbage.”
Sure, I hadn’t treated them like a person before, but lately, I had been.
With that thought, I continued my stream.
Who knows how long the stream went on?
“Well, see you all tomorrow.”
The stream has ended!
After ending the stream, I logged into the Efreet Gallery.
I searched for “Omniscient Cthulhu.”
Just giving them my chat ID should be enough.
There was no need to share my phone number.
With that in mind, I accessed the private “Gal-log,” which only Cthulhu could see, and left my chat ID there.
Shortly after, a message popped up.
[Jeong Gyeoul: Huh?]
Someone had contacted me.
