Unexpected Encounters

Chapter 201,072 words9 min read

Chu Xin looked down at Shimizuma, who had her face buried in his chest, and sighed.

“Class Representative, could you please get up?”

How had Shimizuma even appeared? One moment she was gone, the next she was on top of him.

The train was about to arrive at the station, and lying on the floor of the car was uncomfortable…

It seemed Shimizuma heard him, as she slowly sat up. Still on top of him, her posture was reminiscent of a duck.

But wasn’t this even worse?

After sitting up, Shimizuma stared blankly at Chu Xin for a moment before breaking into her signature smile, hands pressed together.

“Ah… it’s Chu Xin, good morning!~”

Chu Xin was at a loss for words. Though Shimizuma’s smile was comforting, this wasn’t the time for greetings.

But Shimizuma showed no sign of moving, as if waiting for a response. Chu Xin had no choice but to reply.

“Uh, good morning, Class Representative. But shouldn’t you get up now?”

At this, Shimizuma’s expression returned to its usual vacant stare, her hands resting on Chu Xin’s chest in a strangely alluring way.

Just as Chu Xin was at a loss for what to do, a girl in the same uniform as him pushed through the crowd.

She wore black-framed glasses, her black hair with red highlights complementing her naturally sharp features.

Her usual thick socks had been replaced with over-the-knee black stockings, creating a ‘forbidden zone’ effect. From Chu Xin’s angle, he could barely make out the small polka-dot panties she wore.

Chu Xin averted his gaze, choosing to act like a gentleman. But his mind wandered, noting how surprisingly cute she was…

“Ah… Chu Xin?”

It was Hasegawa Ten’i. Chu Xin had hoped she would rescue him, but instead, she froze in place.

Her mind raced with fantasies of what it would be like if she were the one sitting on Chu Xin. Her body began to move involuntarily, inching closer to him.

Chu Xin sensed something was off. With Shimizuma still smiling on top of him and Hasegawa moving closer, combined with the indifferent gazes of the surrounding girls, something felt very wrong.

“Hasegawa, Class Representative bumped into me. Could you help her up?”

Hasegawa snapped out of her daze and quickly helped Shimizuma to her feet.

“Ah… Shimizuma, what are you doing here?”

Chu Xin felt a mix of relief and annoyance. Fortunately, the crowd had parted enough for him to stand up. Just as he was about to rise, Hasegawa extended her hand.

Chu Xin reflexively took it, feeling the soft, almost boneless touch of her hand as he stood.

“Thanks,” he muttered, feeling a strange sensation.

Hasegawa blushed and quickly pulled her hand away, almost as if it had been a lightning-fast movement.

“I’m sorry, Shimizuma caused you trouble. To make amends, I’ll do anything you want…”

She began to kneel down again.

Shimizuma, still smiling, watched Chu Xin without reacting.

Chu Xin, noticing the strange looks from the surrounding girls, quickly pulled Hasegawa back up.

“It’s okay, really. You can relax around me.”

Hasegawa nodded, her mind drifting to the hand Chu Xin was holding, wondering if she should ever wash it again.

“No, no, my goal can’t stop at fantasies… Especially with that woman called ‘Darling’ out there…”

But who was ‘Darling’? She didn’t know.

The three of them stood together, waiting. Chu Xin finally noticed Hasegawa’s uniform and asked curiously,

“Hasegawa, are you back in school?”

He hadn’t seen either of them for weeks, thanks to Hasegawa’s absence and Shimizuma’s family sending her to school.

Hasegawa blushed and replied,

“Yeah, I’ve just been at home… It wasn’t good.”

Chu Xin nodded, understanding.

“No wonder I hadn’t seen you before. It’s a good thing it was me she bumped into. Who knows what might have happened otherwise?”

Like those classic ‘train encounters’… Just thinking about it made him shudder.

Hasegawa, watching Chu Xin think, felt herself drawn to him even more. Being at home made it hard to fantasize about him.

But today, coming to school, she realised something. Ever since yesterday, when she returned home with those thoughts, she found a notebook she used to record her fantasies about Chu Xin. The cover had changed to read ‘Fantasy Journal’.

The back of the notebook had strange rules:

[1. This journal is only for Hasegawa Ten’i’s fantasies about Chu Xin.]

[2. Writing your wishes for fantasies with Chu Xin in the journal will likely make them come true, but the cost must be figured out by the user.]

[3. Tasks will be issued from time to time, with rewards mainly for increasing fantasy levels.]

She assumed it was her mother’s prank, but her mother wouldn’t know Chu Xin’s name. So, she impulsively wrote, “Tomorrow, I will unexpectedly meet Chu Xin, and he will hold my hand.”

Hasegawa thought it might just be wishful thinking. But today, it came true, twice.

The ‘likely’ in the journal’s description probably meant it was a matter of probability, since her wish to ‘kiss Chu Xin’ didn’t come true, not even a hint of it.

But this was enough. It was better than before, when she would avoid her fantasies and escape.

As for the ‘tasks,’ she’d think about them later. But if this was real, having such a power would make her fantasies come true so easily…

With a strange smile, she noticed Chu Xin looking at her with an unusual gaze, and Shimizuma’s expression seemed off too.

“Are you okay?”

Chu Xin asked, concerned by her smile.

“Aah… Sorry, I was just spacing out. I’m fine!”

Just as the train arrived at the station, Hasegawa blushed and left with Shimizuma, disappearing into the crowd.

Shimizuma, still smiling, called out to Chu Xin,

“See you later, Chu Xin!~”

Chu Xin nodded, waving back. As he exited the car, the station was less crowded, mostly students and teachers.

But as he stepped out, he saw Hasegawa had fallen, her panties briefly visible.

He quickly averted his gaze. Fortunately, most of the girls were from nearby all-female schools, so few others noticed.

Hasegawa, realizing her situation, quickly stood up, brushing off the dust and glaring at Chu Xin before disappearing with Shimizuma, who patted her head and thanked her.

… Was everything really going to be okay?

Watching the two of them exchange places and stumble away, Chu Xin felt his peaceful daily life slipping further and further away.
