The Endless Corridor and the Dissection Room

Chapter 45642 words6 min read

“Wanwan, slow down.”

Liu Hanzhi trailed behind Bai Wanwan, her steps faltering in the dim corridor.

The corridor didn’t appear particularly wide, yet no matter how far they walked, it seemed utterly endless.

“We’re back.”

Bai Wanwan abruptly halted. The nervous Liu Hanzhi crashed directly into her back.

Her ample chest, accentuated by the cheongsam, enveloped Bai Wanwan’s shoulders. The ghost and the human found themselves in a somewhat intimate embrace.

“I’m sorry…”

“It’s fine. I’ve been walking for so long, I’m actually quite warm. Your coolness is perfect for chilling down.”

Bai Wanwan didn’t seem to mind, but her words caused Liu Hanzhi’s face to flush.

She hadn’t expected to be useful in such a way, and a wave of pleasant surprise washed over her.

At that moment, Bai Wanwan was gazing thoughtfully at the room before them, which bore the sign “Dissection Room.”

Liu Hanzhi, meanwhile, cautiously wrapped her arms around Bai Wanwan’s shoulders. She watched Bai Wanwan’s reaction, not daring to even breathe a single sigh of relief.

Of course, as a ghost, she didn’t need to breathe anyway.

Seeing no reaction from Bai Wanwan, Liu Hanzhi finally relaxed, letting out a long sigh of relief.

‘Her shoulders are so soft, and she feels so warm and comfortable in my arms…’ Liu Hanzhi found herself momentarily lost in the sensation.

“It seems no matter which way we go down this corridor, we always end up back in the same place.”

Bai Wanwan glanced at the area where an elevator should have been, now merely an old, dilapidated wall.

After walking a few loops earlier, Bai Wanwan had noticed there weren’t many rooms along this corridor—only a handful.

These included the “Dissection Room,” “Operating Room,” “Pharmacy,” “Nurse’s Station,” “Ward,” and “Morgue,” making a total of six rooms.

The grim-faced ghost nurse they had encountered earlier had emerged from the Nurse’s Station.

When Bai Wanwan and Liu Hanzhi passed the Nurse’s Station, they saw many other ghost nurses inside.

As Bai Wanwan looked at them, they all simultaneously turned their heads with an unnatural twist, meeting her gaze.

To be honest, the sight was chilling. Bai Wanwan also sensed a distinct hostility emanating from them.

For this reason, she certainly had no desire to pass the Nurse’s Station again.

To find a way out of this eerie realm now, they would have to explore room by room, starting with the Dissection Room.

Those other people had seemingly entered the Dissection Room as well. Yet, for some unknown reason, they had never emerged.

“Wanwan, what do we do now? Do we really have to go in there?”

Liu Hanzhi gazed at the pitch-black Dissection Room, a knot of tension tightening in her chest.

“You’re a ghost. Can’t you act a little more like one? Is it necessary to be this scared?”

Bai Wanwan cast an annoyed glance at Liu Hanzhi. This little ghost seemed far too timid.

“Are you kidding? If you die here, you get to reincarnate. If *I* die, I’ll be completely annihilated!”

How could Liu Hanzhi *not* be worried? Bai Wanwan had a second chance at life, but Liu Hanzhi didn’t!

“Don’t worry,” Bai Wanwan said, then stepped into the Dissection Room.

The moment she entered, a potent, acrid stench of blood assaulted her, making her instinctively cover her nose.

‘This isn’t the smell a dissection room should have. This is clearly the smell of a slaughterhouse…’

Just then, Bai Wanwan’s long-silent phone suddenly rang.

In the quiet, dimly lit dissection room, the notification sound was incredibly clear.

“My phone?”

Bai Wanwan pulled out her phone. She recalled checking it upon arrival; it had been completely devoid of signal.

But now… the phone’s signal was suddenly full.

Moreover, the notification sound she’d just heard was her pre-set livestream alert. It was already eleven o’clock at night.
