“I’ll give you some time to discuss.”
After granting Jeanne and the others time to strategize their battle plan, Yue Wu consulted the system.
‘I never realized the guild was so wealthy.’
As Yue Wu scrolled through the consumables and equipment, he found an overwhelming abundance of top-tier items, too many to even properly examine.
The equipment was even more astounding; even the lowest-grade pieces were at the Saint Artifact level.
Beyond his own three world-class items, the highest-tier gear reached the level of Super Divine Artifacts, with weapons available for nearly every profession.
‘I remember now, Sister Fei Fei loved collecting equipment. These must be her spoils of war. How terrifying!’
A pang of inexplicable heartache struck Yue Wu at the thought of Sister Fei Fei.
She was the only person in that world he truly cared about.
‘I wonder how Sister Fei Fei is doing now. Did she move on with someone else after learning of my situation, or is she still waiting for me?’
While Yue Wu was lost in his memories, Jeanne and the others had nearly finalized their strategy.
Jeanne: “There’s one more thing: my brother is a very special existence.”
Luoge: “Oh? This humble one is quite curious.”
Alisa: “Yes, yes, I want to know too!”
Jeanne: “Brother’s profession is a Priest, a unique class that combines elements of a Sacrificer, a Sage, and a Mage.”
Shavier: “What kind of profession is that? It’s impossible to possess the abilities of three different classes!”
Luoge: “Indeed, no one in this world has ever possessed three such abilities.”
Windy: “Then, then do we, do we have a chance?”
Jeanne: “It’s alright. Brother is merely testing our strength.”
Alisa: “Wow! I’m suddenly so excited!”
Luoge: “Then let’s proceed according to the plan.”
The others: “Alright!”
“Oh? Is your discussion over?”
“What’s wrong? Are you not planning to attack first? In that case, I’ll make the first move.”
Seeing that no one on the opposing side initiated an attack, Yue Wu decided to make the first move himself.
He stomped his right foot on the ground, instantly rocketing forward.
“Close combat?!”
Luoge and Jeanne had not expected Yue Wu to opt for close combat right from the start.
However, this did not disrupt their plan in the slightest; it merely prompted them to shift to their next strategy.
“Alisa!”
“Resound! The Movement of Stars, Third Page!”
Luoge raised her harp, unleashing a control spell.
Yue Wu suddenly found himself unable to move, and glancing up, he saw a massive fireball hurtling down.
Boom!
The giant fireball appeared to strike Yue Wu, yet they knew it hadn’t.
They swiftly located Yue Wu, who was descending through the air.
“Shavier, Shana!”
“Understood!”
Shavier and Shana accelerated, drawing the swords from their waists.
They leaped into the air, directly swinging their blades at Yue Wu.
“Heh~”
Observing Shavier and Shana leaping, Yue Wu’s lips curved into a slight smirk.
It was as if everything unfolded precisely within his calculations.
Thump!
Crack!
Before Shavier and Shana could even swing their swords, they felt several blows land upon them.
They were immediately knocked out of the air.
“Shavier, Shana.”
Windy, the team’s support, conjured two large water spheres beneath where Shavier and Shana fell.
The two sisters found their descent softened by this timely intervention.
“Quite interesting. And next will be…”
Yue Wu landed almost simultaneously with Shavier and the others.
However, he did not relax for an instant, knowing that one person was missing from the scene.
“Jeanne, my girl.”
Yue Wu spun around, casually reaching out to seize Jeanne, who had entered a stealth state at some unknown moment.
Without granting her any chance to retaliate, he simply flung her away.
Yue Wu: “Your coordination in battle is quite good. Although I don’t know why Jeanne went into stealth, your stealth, Jeanne, is not up to par.”
Jeanne: “That wasn’t stealth; that was Luoge’s ability.”
Yue Wu: “Oh? How interesting.”
Luoge: “I hadn’t expected your reaction speed to be so formidable, Your Excellency.”
Yue Wu: “Shall we continue then?”
Alisa: “I haven’t even started yet!”
After their brief exchange, Alisa charged at Yue Wu, staff in hand.
She was a quintessential close-combat mage.
‘I feel like I’m at a disadvantage like this.’
Against Alisa’s close-range attacks, Yue Wu weaved left and right, causing all her strikes to miss.
“A weakness!”
Yue Wu spotted Alisa’s opening, but just as he prepared to strike, a Sacred Light Orb suddenly assailed him.
This forced Yue Wu to dodge and withdraw.
“Caught, caught him!”
However, the very next second after Yue Wu retreated, a puddle of water abruptly appeared beneath his feet.
His lower body sank into the pit, completely stuck and unable to move.
“Sacred Light Burst!”
The Sacred Light Orb, originally intended to cover Alisa’s vulnerability, flew directly in front of Yue Wu and detonated.
“Did it work?”
Windy couldn’t be certain if Yue Wu had been defeated.
“It seems I may have underestimated you all a little.”
“Now it’s my turn to attack. Be careful.”
Yue Wu appeared atop a giant boulder, completely unharmed, gazing down at them.
“Everyone, be cautious!”
Immediately, the atmosphere grew heavy.
Luoge and the others knew that their previous two attacks were purely offensive, while their opponent had solely focused on defense and evasion.
Now, he was about to launch a genuine assault, and the manner of his attack was precisely what they needed to guard against.
“First one.”
In the blink of an eye, Yue Wu materialized before Alisa.
He delivered a crouching punch directly to her abdomen before she could even raise her guard.
Alisa was sent flying a considerable distance, ultimately crashing to the ground, unable to rise.
However, this was only temporary, as Alisa was known for her resilience.
“Second, third.”
The very next second after turning, Yue Wu appeared behind Shavier and Shana.
However, the reaction speed of the two sisters was far from slow.
“Five-Strike Rapid Slash!”
Shavier spun around, instantly unleashing a Five-Strike Rapid Slash that forced Yue Wu out of range.
Though Yue Wu had identified Shavier’s opening, he couldn’t capitalize on it.
Typically, Shavier’s Five-Strike Rapid Slash was immediately followed by Shana’s own.
True to form, Shana’s Five-Strike Rapid Slash connected.
On the fifth strike, it made contact with Yue Wu, but only because he had seized the tip of her sword.
“Game over.”
With a tug from the hand that gripped Shana’s sword, Yue Wu pulled.
Shana lost control of her body, stumbling forward a few steps.
In that instant, she met the same fate as Alisa: a charging punch sent her flying, taking Shavier along with her.
“Alright, the front line is down. Do you surrender, or do you wish to continue?”
Yue Wu stretched his neck and loosened his entire body.
“Of course we fight! I want to show Brother my true strength!”
Jeanne and Luoge exchanged glances, an unspoken understanding passing between them.
“Calibur!”
Jeanne’s timing was impeccable; she unleashed her ultimate skill directly.
“Resound! Lone Star Spear!”
Luoge’s ultimate skill descended simultaneously, effectively sandwiching Yue Wu from both sides.
He simply raised his right hand.
Boom!
A deafening roar echoed across the entire plain, shattering numerous boulders scattered across its expanse.
Dust and smoke billowed, instantly heightening the already tense Windy’s anxiety.
“Jeanne, Luoge, are you alright?”
Once the commotion subsided, Windy slowly and cautiously approached, her eyes darting around.
She was now terrified of Yue Wu, fearing he might appear and treat her the same way he had Alisa and Shavier.
“Are you looking for someone, my girl?”
Yue Wu suddenly appeared before Windy, cradling the unconscious Jeanne and Luoge in his arms.
He was completely unharmed.
“No, don’t hit me! I, I’m afraid of pain.”
Mistaking Yue Wu’s presence for an impending attack, Windy immediately crouched down, clutching her head with both hands.
The child had even dropped her magic staff.
“So, you surrender?”
Yue Wu gently set Jeanne and Luoge down.
Fortunately, he had cast protective barriers on everyone who had lost their combat ability.
With the last person choosing to give up, the assessment concluded.
Overall, Yue Wu was quite satisfied, for his attributes were on an entirely different plane compared to the six of them, even when he suppressed his own power.
“Let’s go back. I’ll treat you all to something delicious.”
Yue Wu ruffled Windy’s hair and smiled.
“Really?”
Upon hearing about food, Windy’s spirits immediately lifted.
