Chapter 51: Mollu the Emperor

I gazed at the final boss that appeared before me.

A Red Dragon, notorious for its ferocity. The slow but powerful Blue Dragon.

Other dragons like the Gold Dragon, Black Dragon, and many more that appear in fictional works.

But the “Lord” of Dragon Road was none of them.

Should I call it “white”? It felt as if it was detached from the world itself, a colorless, pure white ancient dragon.

As I stood face-to-face with it, a grand, majestic background music signaled the start of the true boss fight.

Kieeeeeek~!

The piercing sound echoed through the nest as soon as the battle began.

The slitted pupils of the dragon’s reptilian eyes dilated vertically, triggering Dragon Fear.

My warrior was momentarily paralyzed by fear, his movements sluggish and slow.

“Looks like it’s a debuff that reduces attack and movement speed. In moments like these…”

Although my character’s body had slowed down, it didn’t affect me, the player, at all.

With my unchanged reflexes, I observed the enemy’s movements.

When the dragon lifted its front paw and prepared to slam it down, I dodged with ease.

“All you gotta do is roll away.”

A smooth forward roll.

Rolling is king.

During a roll, you gain complete invincibility — a broken mechanic in its own right.

However, since the cooldown was long, I had to use it only at critical moments.

After a single roll, the effects of Dragon Fear wore off.

Even though it was the final boss, the playstyle didn’t change much from before.

All I had to do was stall while analyzing its attack patterns, then chip away at its health whenever I spotted an opening.

This is the essence of the game.

Attack when it’s time to attack. Dodge when it’s time to dodge.

It’s such a simple game that it barely requires any “strategy.”

“See? Simple, right?”

Kieeeeeek・・・

The dragon’s body was battered with wounds, its wings shredded. Its breathing was rough, labored.

It stood in place, panting, making no other movements.

The health bar at the top of the screen showed that only about 10% remained — the other 90% had already been shaved away.

[Professor, you’re going too fast for us.]

[Wait, are we supposed to replicate that in real-time?]

[How did you dodge that breath attack?]

[There was only one safe spot in that wide AoE, and you actually found it. LMAO]

[Only someone with Mollu’s reflexes could pull that off.]

[I think it’s easier to just accept that pattern and tank the hit.]

[Mollu, carrying on the legacy of Master Bob.]

[This is just How to Train Your Dragon in real life.]

[“If you hit the dragon enough, it’ll eventually calm down.” — someone, probably]

[Imagine being a burglar breaking into someone’s house, only to realize the homeowner is OP.]

[Okay, gotta admit, that was pretty clean.]

When the dragon took off and soared into the sky, I genuinely panicked for a moment.

If it hovered in the air and attacked from above, there would be no physical way to fight back.

I figured it might be one of those “unfair gimmick patterns” that are common in these types of games. But thankfully, it wasn’t that malicious.

The pattern was simple: the dragon flapped its wings to rise, launched a single breath attack, and then descended back to the ground.

As long as I could get past the breath attack safely, there were no other challenging sections to worry about.

“How many hours have we been playing? I feel like we’re on pace for a fast clear, no?”

For streamers of general gaming content, being the first to finish a newly released game was something of a badge of honor.

It was a chance for obscure streamers to make a name for themselves.

[You started the stream as soon as the game launched, so it’s been 7 hours.]

[No one — not in Korea or abroad — has beaten it yet.]

[Who cares about speedrunning? You already found the hidden route, and that alone is huge.]

[Greedy girl, she’s gunning for both the hidden route AND first clear.]

[I respect the ambition.]

[Two-crown achievement incoming.]

[You’re still the fastest one so far.]

I glanced at the viewers’ chat and gripped my sword once more.

“Alright, let’s finish this.”

I slowly approached the dragon, which was gasping for breath.

Whether it was simply programmed this way or if it was a highly sophisticated AI imitating a living being, I couldn’t tell.

But one thing was clear — Dragon Lord seemed to have accepted its fate, showing no resistance as it faced its imminent death.

It closed its eyes as if surrendering its life, waiting for the end.

But then, suddenly, its eyes shot open.

It wasn’t because of me.

The cause was something far smaller: an egg, about the size of an ostrich egg, resting in its nest.

A thin crack had begun to form on the surface of the egg.

The dragon’s gaze fixed on the egg, its eyes filled with focus and intensity.

The sharp sound of the shell cracking echoed clearly. I, too, stopped in my tracks.

It didn’t take long for the egg to hatch.

From the small opening in the egg, a drenched, wiggling creature emerged.

It looked like a winged lizard, its body covered in reptilian skin. The hatchling, still unable to open its eyes, chirped weakly, blindly searching for its mother.

KIEEEEKKK!!

Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted.

The Dragon Lord, who had been on the brink of death just moments ago, flapped its tattered wings and raised its worn-down claws.

Its presence became ferocious, like a general ready to die in a last stand.

This intense display of motherly love made me groan softly.

“Come on… Now I feel like the villain in this story.”

A wounded mother protecting her newborn hatchling with her life.

A cruel villain mercilessly slaying the mother in front of her child.

It felt like the perfect setup for the prologue of a revenge story.

[You’re gonna kill this? You’re gonna kill this? You’re gonna kill this?]

[No mercy from Mollu, as expected, lol.]

[Over-immersing, over-immersing, over-immersing, over-immersing.]

[Sorry, hatchling…]

[Kill the mom, but we’ll raise the baby ourselves.]

[Dragon Rider Mollu incoming.]

[Time for a 2nd class change!]

Some viewers were moved by the dragon’s display of maternal love, but others… well, they had ideas so twisted that even I had to shake my head.

Watching the chat, I thought to myself: Maybe I’m actually one of the more decent people here.

“And so, the young warrior became a true Dragon Slayer…”

The silhouette of a warrior plunging his sword into the dragon’s head was displayed on the screen, the scene playing out like a slow-moving film reel.

Then, the credits rolled.

It had been a long journey.

How long had it been? Around 8 hours, give or take?

I’m not usually the type to stream for this long.

Consistency and patience aren’t words I would normally associate with myself, but today was different.

“Phase 2 was rougher than I expected. I thought it was almost dead, but its health just wouldn’t drop.”

The screen showed the fallen Dragon Lord and the warrior, exhausted and breathing heavily.

The baby dragon? It had vanished.

All that remained was the overturned straw from the nest where it had been.

The scene felt like an obvious tease for a sequel.

A classic, predictable storyline — the baby dragon escapes, grows up, and returns as the next Dragon Lord.

But sometimes, even a story you’ve seen before can be enjoyable if it’s told the right way.

[I can’t believe you actually killed it…]

[Even Satan would be shaking his head at Mollu’s heartlessness.]

[She killed it so cleanly, no hesitation.]

[LMAO]

[XOXO]

[wwwwwwwww]

[There are so many foreigners watching now.]

[Is there a Twitch admin in the chat? LOL.]

[It makes sense when you see the viewer count.]

[Dragon Road developer David Carlson mentioned Mollu on Twitter! ᄃᄃ]

[Legend.]

[KA.]

[First streamer to clear Dragon Road.]

[Mollu King! Mollu King! Mollu King! Mollu King! Mollu King! Mollu King!]

[Cleared it in just 8 hours and 27 minutes!]

<Mollu King has donated 100,000 won!>

“On behalf of the Dragon Road gallery, we congratulate Mollu on clearing the game!”

After clearing the game, I realized just how many people had gathered in the stream.

There were foreign language messages in the chat — something you don’t see in my stream every day.

“Ah, yes, thank you very much.”

The first streamer to clear the game.

The first to discover and navigate an untouched, secret route.

I could instinctively tell that the impact of this would be huge.

I felt great.

It had been a while since I streamed, and I managed to end it on such a high note.

Feeling generous, I decided to offer a little bonus.

Since I had just received a 100,000 won donation, I adjusted the camera that had only been showing my hands.

I repositioned it to show my entire upper body.

[All of a sudden?]

[Is Mollu finally revealing their face?]

[Making a bold decision in front of 50,000 people.]

[Yeah, that’s pretty bold.]

[EXTREME.]

[HEZAH reaction;]

[ᅩᅮᅣ]

[Clap clap clap clap.]

[LOCK.]

[Is that a real chest?]

[Not even wearing anything revealing, but it still looks suggestive.]

“Thank you, thank you.”

Like the famous Jerry GIF, I bowed deeply with both hands folded, politely greeting the viewers.

I bent my waist twice and then sat back down.

That should be enough, right?

[Just a little more…]

[Cleavage ᅩᅮᅣ]

[Is this that kind of stream now?]

[WoW.]

[The streamer is clearly in a good mood right now, lol.]

“The game was really fun, and I’m so grateful that so many of you came to watch. I’ll be back with more enjoyable and exciting content next time. See you later!”

[If the streamer ends the stream out of embarrassment, that’s an instant like.]

[Like.]

[Why is this person suddenly so cute?]

[OBA (One Bang All).]

[OBA, absolute OBA.]

[Even made soup from the broth… Perfect.]

[Mollu Vault.]

I waved my hands back and forth and ended the stream.

Normally, I don’t do formal goodbyes or anything like that, but for some reason, I felt like doing it today.

Maybe it was because it had been so long since I streamed.

And with that, I successfully wrapped up my 8-hour comeback stream.
