“Wanwan, you have a delivery.”
Liu Hanzhi opened the door and received a large package from the courier.
Bai Wanwan, who had been in her room, quickly rushed out. She took the package from Liu Hanzhi’s hands.
“What did you buy?”
Liu Hanzhi leaned closer to Bai Wanwan, her curiosity piqued as she inquired.
“Some equipment for live streaming, and a new phone.”
While researching prices for funeral supplies online, Bai Wanwan had stumbled upon some very affordable second-hand streaming gear, prompting her to purchase it.
At the same time, she also bought herself a new phone. It wasn’t that she was suddenly flush with cash and indulging in extravagance; rather, her old, screen-shattered phone was on its last legs.
During their previous live stream in the Eerie Realm, she had fumbled and dropped it in her haste to escape. Now, Bai Wanwan had to squint to make out anything on the screen, as the cracks resembled a disjointed mosaic.
“You got a new phone? What about the old one?”
“I put the old one… I threw the old one away!”
Bai Wanwan glared at Liu Hanzhi, annoyed. ‘Why does this girl always mess with her, making her say such strange things?’
“What I meant was, the old phone could connect to the Underworld’s live stream. If you change phones, will you still be able to connect to the Underworld’s live stream?”
Liu Hanzhi pursed her lips. She believed the most lucrative market for Bai Wanwan’s funeral supplies lay in the Underworld.
With the shipping issues now resolved, why not try live streaming and selling goods in the Underworld as well?
After all, their previous stream, lasting less than an hour, had generated nearly ten thousand yuan in revenue.
If this momentum continued, clearing Bai Wanwan’s debts would be just around the corner.
“I’m not sure. The old one is definitely unusable now. However, I discussed this with Chu Annian, and she mentioned she has a papercraft phone she brought back from the Eerie Realm. That papercraft phone allowed her to watch our live stream from the Eerie Realm that day.”
Bai Wanwan stroked her chin. “So I was thinking, if we want to stream to the Underworld, do we also need to use papercraft equipment?”
“Genius! Wanwan, you’re an absolute genius!”
Liu Hanzhi slapped her thigh in excitement. The impact was quite forceful; Bai Wanwan could even see the soft flesh of her thigh, encased in black stockings, quivering like jelly.
“But can you make a papercraft phone?”
“What kind of joke is that? Is there any papercraft I can’t make? I can even include a papercraft charger with a papercraft ‘Fruit Phone’.”
Bai Wanwan had already finished crafting it. She had been busy with the papercraft phone in her room earlier.
Her craftsmanship was indeed excellent. Though it was a papercraft phone, it looked remarkably similar to a cardboard model.
It was nothing like the paper effigies burned during tomb sweeping, which were not only obviously fake but also somewhat comical.
As Bai Wanwan had often said, good papercraft was a work of art, exquisitely made with every detail carefully considered.
“Then we can start selling goods in the Underworld tonight, can’t we? No, wait! We can do it right now!”
Underworld live streams had no time constraints; one could broadcast whenever they wished.
“The problem is precisely this: a papercraft phone is truly just a papercraft phone.”
Bai Wanwan tossed the cardboard replica to Liu Hanzhi. The object showed no reaction whatsoever. If one were to take it out and start poking at it, people might well think they were deranged.
“The reason is quite simple,” Shi Xiangning suddenly spoke, uncurling from her silent corner. “The Underworld doesn’t have such a thing.”
“Doesn’t have it?”
Bai Wanwan didn’t quite grasp her meaning.
“Precisely. You could say it’s not common. Papercraft is essentially using a token from the mortal realm to exchange for items in the Underworld.”
“The Underworld has no concept of a phone like yours. So how could your papercraft possibly transform into an Underworld item?”
“If you want to sell goods in the Underworld, I suggest you try borrowing that papercraft phone from Chu Annian. I recall her mentioning it was an Eerie Artifact, wasn’t it?”
